You get what you'd expect from a seafood chain. But better than Red Lobster. Pros: Easy in, easy out Cons: Little expensive but not bad

Very Impressive 1/13/2012

First, I am a restaurant professional for over 20 years now and recently worked for a very pricey, upscale seafood chain. My boyfriend and I dined after seeing a movie and I started with a savingnon blanc recommended by the server and the Yellowfin tuna appetizer...YUM! The arugula, grapes, thin sliced bread, & the other pairings, not to mention the delicious crusted fish was the best & I will definitely be back just for that as a meal. It was less than 10 bucks and better than any I have ever had! Our server was fantastic, charming, & eveything he did was perfect. Top notch service. I had the scallops and my fella' had the shrimp w/ the andouille sausage cheese grits...nice southern and cajun inspired touches paired with quality seafood. I must mention the gorgeous patio with fountains and beautiful tile work. Looking forward to warm weather dinners outside there. more

Cajun at its best 8/3/2011

I never had the opportunity to eat cajun food before and I love it. Pappadeaux is loud and very busy which I like. We started with the fondeaux which was the best I ever had. I ended up getting the shrimp po boy and had to box it because the portions were so big. The keylime pie for desert was again, the best I think I ever had. more

Average seafood but not bad 6/16/2010

good food, bad prices 9/2/2009

The food is always good, but the prices have increased greatly over the past couple years. On the last visit my wife and I got 2 entrees, 1 appetizer and 2 drinks. We spent about a $100 with the tip. Ouch! Pros: food, atmosphere, selection Cons: high prices more

great outdoor dining 8/31/2008

On a great weather day, we knew we had to go to Pappadeaux's for lunch. The outdoor patio ambiance is great. Great fountains, cajun music, even ceiling fans & light garlands. I don't know of any better outdoor dining in this entire metroplex. The food is excellent, tho' pricey for us, we still splurge once in a while to enjoy this restaurant. It is not busy on Sunday afternoons like most other restaurants, which is great for people like us going after church. I recommend it to everybody! Pros: great food, good service, great ambiance & outdoor dining, spacious dining room Cons: price a little high for us more

A Great Seafood Resterant 4/3/2008

I had a great time when I went. The service is fast and the staff is very friendly. The portions of fish were not huge but were substantially bigger than most of the specialty seafood places around here. The fish was flakey and fresh. The varieites of ways it can be prepaired will keep me coming back as well as the quality (my current favorite is the Salmon Yvette). I loved their cheese grits as well, a down home favorite i don't find many places. Their appetizer menus is great The Blackened Shrimp and Crawfish Foneaux is amasing. My boyfriend loved their Fried Calamari. I would definately recommend this resteraunt to seafood lovers. The quality and selection of deserts was great too. Pros: Good Quality, Good Value, Friendly Service Cons: Some of the table seating in the middle of the floor is a bit cloose together. more

We will go back 10/17/2007

Last night my wife and I ate at the Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen in celebration of our 25th wedding anniversary. Our server was friendly and competent. The food was great. As an appetizer we had the ""Blackened Oyster & Shrimp Fondeaux "". This was fantastic. For an entree I had the ""Crawfish Etouffee with dirty rice"" and my wife had the ""Grilled Mahi Mahi"". Excellent! This was the first time I ever had crawfish. The first bite caught my attention with the Cajun seasonings, but then it was nothing but dining pleasure with this truly delicious dish. For desert I would recommend the ""Sweet Potato Pecan Pie with ice cream"". My, oh my, was that good! I spent a ton of money last night, but it was worth it! Pros: Excellent food more

Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen- Best Gulf Coast fare in the Midwest !!!! 7/29/2007

I live in Dayton, Ohio, now, but lived in Baton Rouge, LA, few the last couple of years. While living in Louisiana, my wife and I gained a great appreciation for the excellent food found in the entire state. I am also a forty year veteran of the Hospitality business. Having visited Pappadeaux's in the Cincinnati area several times, we have found the food excellent, the service the best in the Dayton/Cincinnati area and the menu selection beyond comparison. We strongly reccommend Pappadeaux's to any one that loves great food and service. The pricing is very reasonable for the quality experience you will enjoy. Pros: Great food and service! Cons: portion size a little large more

Best Fondue Ever 7/4/2007

Caution: I would not highly recommend this place if it wasn't for one dish: the seafood ""fondeaux."" It's an expensive place, and the food itself is not really worth it unless you get the fondeaux. If you do, then you will be totally happy with the place and keep coming back. It's a Cajun place that serves, alligator, crawfish, and other foods from the bayou so it is fun if you're looking to try something different. The service and atmosphere are top notch. It really is a great place, but the food can be mediocre and it is quite expensive. Usually very busy. Like I said, fondeaux is out of this world good so go and try it. Pros: ffondeaux is amazing, service, ambience Cons: food can be overpriced more

A taste of The bayou... 11/16/2006

The food is fantastic as well as the portions. I first sampled their cuisine in Houston, TX along with the other ""Pappa's"" restraunts. I was thoroughly intoxicated with the quality. When they located here in my home town, I was ecstatic!! The wait has been worth it and I am so happy to recommend this one of a kind eatery. Pros: unique foods Cons: you pay for the unique-ness! more
