At 92, my mother was a happy, active and clear-minded gal living in an independent living facility. In 1994, her doctor and I talked about hospitalizing her for 2-3 days for a car...

professional work done is overshadowed by unprofessional like odali/janet 8/6/2014

On August 4, 2014, I was with my brother (Jose Hernandez) in its emergency room in the room 10. Mili, the nurse was very friendly and extremely professional. We are very grateful for their attention. \r But on the other hand we are very unhappy and amazed at what we saw in the work area. You have some nurses who damage the image of the hospital. For starters have heard that named by Mrs. Janet Troche, is an unprofessional, despot, spoiled nurse, using dirty words all the time, and laughing about pt. On the other hand Mrs Odali, unprofessional, ironic, haughty, arrogant, despot, treating patients and staff as trash and mocking them. Making jokes about patients and laughing about them. We witnessed the despot and arrogant treatment she provided to the Secretary, and the atrocities that she spoke about the doctor on duty. \r Both do not serve neither to work with animals. \r PROFESSIONAL WORK DONE BY OTHERS IS OVERSHADOWED BY SUCH UNPROFESSIONAL\r It is very sad that you have nurses like hers more

poor hospital. bad experience.. 4/10/2013

i came in complaining of chest pain which later resulted in my own self diagnoses (pinched nerves)\r i walk in and the attitude of the night shift stunk like death. they treated me like work and not like a patient or a human. i work at a hospital and i know what should be done and how, i sat and watched to see what they would do any miscorrections i soon jumped and told them their mistake- which was plenty.\r \r it took FOREVER to finally see a doctor which was 30 min later and wasnt even busy! it was barely empty! he was seted across from my room and watched him talk acnd chatter with the nurses and staff about cafe con leche. when they were finally done, he tottered over to my room introduced himself, did a short physical, checked my airways and asked me whats up in all under 5 min. he later (6 hours later) admits me i asked to see him and the nurses ignored my order for him. i was starving, they never offered a pillow or blanket and almost the entire staff had a strong accent to the po more

I visited the Palm Spring Emergency Room a few days ago. I was really impressed with the care i received from the nurses and doctors. For the past few years, my diabetes has been given me a hard time. I visited Palmetto and Hialeah hospital a few times last year. The service and the care in those hospitals are terrible. The nurses and doctors at Palm Springs were always happy to give me the information I requested. They also made sure i was fed at a timely manner during my stay. I also liked how clean and organized the hospital was. I would also like to note Orencia's (the nurse who attended me) outstanding job, as well as Mirta, the charge nurse that constantly check up on me and support me and my family. I would recommend this hospital to any of my family and friends for sure. They are really awesome people. Congratulations!!!!!!!!! more

Editorial review from Citysearch 11/8/2012

Close down. \r \r Four o'clock went to palm springs general hospital for my bleeding hemorrhoid. Filled out my paper work, but was unable to locate the woman behind the counter not minutes after her giving me the paperwork. I began whistling a merry tune until a nearby nurse decided to bring the desk attendant to me. After giving my completed paper work to the woman who had requested it I waited until a nurse Nancy came, and brought me to area ten on the surgery floor. I call it an area and not a room because only a curtain stood in for the fourth wall. In this tenth area I waited until I was seen by a doctor Brendel, who looked upon my enflamed rectum and said I likely had a cut inside my anus which was bleeding. He requested I have a chest and abdominal X-ray done, as well as be given a pain killer and antiseptic, for nausea, injected into my blood stream. He also took blood samples to test my hemogloibin levels. While having the X-rays done another woman entered the room and took more blood for reasons I didn't learn, likely because the drugs had kicked in and made me a little loopy. After returning to area ten I took a nap. When I awoke a new nurse was in charge of me named Juan, he assured me the test results were coming and I should be patient as I was a patient. How clever Juan was, I thought. So I was patient and before I had been at the hospital for several hours. My mother, who had been waiting with me, inquired why I had not seen anyone yet. It seems unbeknownst to Juan the test results had come in, but doctor Brendel had not notified any surgeon that I was in need of surgery. Juan wished that we would wait for a second doctor to arrive and do another exam to determine that I needed surgery a second time. But my mother, girlfriend and I decided we had had enough and left the hospital at eleven thirty in the evening. I was most dissatisfied with my time at palm springs general hospital and will not return there ever again. I would recommend you do not as well :) more

Best in ER care and nursing staff 9/18/2012

This hospital is the best. The emergency room is outstanding. All the staff is attentive and kind especially Luis, male RN in the ER. I live 4 blocks from Hialeah Hospital and refuse to go there. We will only go to PSH. Your wait will rarely exceed 30 minutes no matter when you go. We've taken my parents at different times of the day and they are amazing. Yes, the hospital is old but the equipment is not. The care is outstanding. I'll take an old hospital with good staff over a new hospital with rude staff. The patient to nurse/physician ratio is so small that the care is personal. It is like a family and they run like a well oiled machine. For everyone posting a review, you obviously have never been to any of the other local hospitals or you would realize that this is the best kept secret in hospitals. If you're not in the Hialeah area then the only other hospitals that come close are Doctors and Coral Gables. Lets continue to the room. You have the option of paying for a private room more

GENERAL PUBLIC ATTENTION 1/30/2012

Palms Springs General Hospital is the worse. Do not deserve a star but is a requirement in the review, this hospital is terrible, disgusting attention, both administrative and clinical, gave me tremendous impression, they suck. Beginning not even have a decent website, no image, is simple, uncreative, minimal, uninformative, looks old, by God, that is to be in the U.S., that mediocrity. What you have on your website you can be sure that it is the care that we provided on site, VOID. DO NOT GO THERE, DO NOT EVER RECOMMEND THEM. more

Horrible ER and Medical Care 8/1/2011

This hospital is totally incompetent. My 73 yr old mother went to the ER at 8:30am where she was refused water and food unnecessarily and was sat in a back room waiting for blood work. At 2:30pm they showed up to retake blood because the morning sample was tainted. The ER didn't order the tests she needed and no doctor was available to see her. (the ER doc is useless) At 7:00pm after screaming at them they put her in a room to run an antibiotic IV which she needed. No doctor came to see her and she was not given meds or further treatment during the night. At 10:00am her doctor called from a message the hospital left in her answering machine. I had to take her out of the hospital and run her to a doctor's office to get an order for the ultrasound she needed then run her to a diagnostic center. Her treatment was delayed and the condition worsened. Then they billed for thousands of dollars for meds she never got and a $100 copayment. I went and told the VP that the billing was fraud and the copayment was an insult after the way they mistreated my mother and didn't treat her medical condition. They sent the bill to collection after they told me they would look into the matter and get back to me. THEY NEED TO BE CLOSED DOWN. If you are not critical, don't let rescue take you there. Call a cab and go somewhere else. more

What an experience! 4/20/2011

I am not th eone always to be writting reviews for any sorts of busineses but this is one that i couldnt stay away from. Recently i was visiting a friend of mine from school who was a patient in this so call hospital. From the time i walked in to the minute i left, i noticed incompetency and lack of care from the lady at the front desk to the security guard who was casually almost half sleep in his guard shack to the doctors and the rest of the staff. i finally found someone who was nice enough to guide me to the right room and then i heard nothing but complaints from my sick friend and his family members. i wouldnt be caught dead in this hospital. one of the worst i can recall compare to even the worst and they consider this to be private!!! shame on the admins and the entire staff and all others who consider themselves to be professional. more

DO NOT LEAVE YOUR LOVED ONES ALONE IN THIS HOSPITAL! 9/23/2010

Oh my God!!!!! My father was taken thru the ER, they made his wife a DNR without explaining what it was. Pressured her by telling that she had to sign it now, while she was explaining that she wanted to consult with me his daughter, because she did not know what she was signing. They told her no!!!! She needed to sign it now!. Basically they were letting my father die. He had 50% of oxygen in his body, blood pressure 32 and was desperatley gasping for air with a mask on. If I hadn't gotten there when I did and made a scene, my father would have died. I called a family member thats a nurse and read all the monitors to her and she she asked me to lift his eyelids and look at his pupils, she said sreem because he's dieing!!! I had to tell the ER doctor to place the tubing down his throat because we did not authorize any DNR. they gave him medication to raise his blood pressure because of my screeming. My father spent 5 hours and 22 minutes with 50-62% oxygen and 32 blood pressure. Do the more

OLD MAN FELT 5/28/2010

I was in ER 5/27/2010 , in room 18 , when i saw the patient in room 17 felt of the high bed. I told that accident to his nurse, Mrs. Odali and she told, OH YES JOSE VALDES is waiting for family to pick up him. WHERE IS THE IPA LAW. And im told to her again he is in the floor, he felt , then she began to scream and fight with that old man. The surprise for me was that she never told that accident to the family and i never saw the doctor see that patient after that accident. That accident happens every day and nobody care, thats why patiets have mysteries dead more

Guilt is not a reason to bash 4/13/2010

To those of you who keep commenting that Palm Springs takes the "Tax payers" money... you guys need to do some research. The ONLY hospital that has this "right" is Jackson.. you know that hospital that's on the brink of closing?\r Palm Springs is still the ONLY privately owned hospital around. And to those who keep complaining about having loved ones there and no one paying attention to them.. how long are you there visiting? If you're there 24/7 why don't you say something about it? Why don't you complain when you're there so the problem is resolved? Stop using your guilt of not being there for your sick loved ones as an assault of the hospital. The hospital has great staff.. great nurses and a caring team. And just like any other place of employment there are weak ones.. There are good days.. and there are bad days. At this moment the administration is at it's weakest. If you need to complain.. go to the top. Stop complainig to the peons.. complain to the chiefs.. after all that's who more

Emergency room: Twilight Zone 11/16/2009

The emergency was a fantastic when I took my loved one earlier this year. The staff was very professional, all were able to speak our native Spanish as it IS in HIALEAH (let's get real here!). A few months ago I took my loved one and it seemed as though the Emergency room was in another country in asia. Behind were the times when the latin nurses were able to meet our needs in spanish, now they have foreigners from asia who are SLOW, PRETEND they don't speak spanish, seemingly not caring about giving us the family a status of what is going on with our loved ones. I can't say that that those asians are bad or have don't know what they are doing, but its frustrating to hear them speak in their asian language in front of the patient and I KNOW they speak spanish, they just play with the game that they don't understand. Are we as a nation THAT short that we can't bring AMERICANS that can cater to the needs of OUR community that we have to scout out strictly 100% Asians (I think they are Fi more
