Probably won't go back 6/21/2009

Despite a very helpful and polite staff, we were slightly disappointed by our weekend stay here. Our bathtub was broken and unable to be fixed while we were there, the parking lot is difficult to find and small, and it's in a really sketchy location. However, the breakfast was good, the peach muffins were exceptional, and the movie library was a nice little touch. Pros: helpful staff, good breakfast, nice movie collection Cons: bad location, difficult parking, some maintenance issues more

Highly Recommended! 5/30/2005

I was greatly impressed with The Painted Lady! It is very romantic, charming and afforadable. We stayed in the Liberace room (which is not even the inn's best room), and it was much better than I expected. The room was spacious, the bed was great and the shower was hot and high-pressure. The inn's roof-top Jacuzzi is romantic and private -- and you can reserve it for just the two of you. The service was personalized and perfect. I highly recommend The Painted Lady to romantic couples. The only caution is that it is not in the best location. The area is a little sketchy, but not dangerous. I would recommend a car to drive the short distance (less than 5 min) back and forth from the riverwalk. I have no hesitation in returning -- now I have to think of reasons to go back to San Antonio! Pros: Very Romantic, Rooftop Jacuzzi, Great Value for $ Cons: Location Not Perfect, No Gym or Pool, No Views more

Great Romantic Spot 9/9/2002

For a Romantic escape try one of the Suites with Jacuzzi for two in room. Also has Bose sound system so you can have music playing throughout your bath...Excellent Pros: Price, Good Parking, Staff Cons: Nothing more

home away from home 8/25/2002

The Painted Lady has become my home away from home. Cindy and Linda really go out of their way to make your stay memorable and comfortable, down to the smallest detail. Everything about the Inn is exquisite, from the rooftop view of the San Antonio skyline to the uniquely decorated rooms to the yummy breakfast in bed, and the service is always gracious. It was a wonderful way to spend my vacation and I did not want to leave. I highly recommend the Painted Lady Inn to anyone for any occasion. Pros: great amenities, accomodating, centrally located more

memories made at PL 8/13/2002

I began staying at the Painted Lady five years ago, and I stay there every chance I get! It is charming, quaint, romantic, and one of the best kept secrets in SanAntonio. It is perfect for a weekend getaway, an extended business stay, or a place to bring the family. I have done all three. The service is outstanding, and each room has its own character. Anyone desiring a truly memorable and unique stay in SA needs to give it a try- you won't be disappointed. Pros: character, service, location more
