The treatment(s) is pain free. or very close to pain free. I've always had a difficult time tolerating pain near teeth due to sensitivity. That has always been torture, but here, Carmen is the best at easing, reducing the fear of pain with her expert touch and ability to clean the teeth (gum area) to almost being pain-free. I feel great after each treatment!!! more

After eight years of procrastinating ... I decided it was time to get to a dentist (if for no other reason, at least for a decent cleaning!). My Dentist had moved (or probably retired!) ... but nonetheless, I was faced with the daunting task of finding a new one. I asked friends for referrals, but found that no one had RAVE REVIEWS for their dentists. That was troubling to me. I perused the yellow pages, at first basing my inquiry on how I enjoyed the name. Aaron Grossman... uhm, not so much. That name has GROSS in it... Arnold Brightman? Perhaps... but after playing that ridiculous game, and losing, I hit the JACKPOT with Dr. Michael Balikyan, D.D.S at Pacific Dental Care. His office is in Beverly Hills (that's a plus!) ... and the staff there are TOP NOTCH, and very friendly (even though you just know that Dental Professionals are looking at your teeth going, "Are you kidding me?") but I get it...I'm a musician and when I turn on the radio, I pretty much say the same thing! Anyhow, this young, talented Dentist was immediately calming with all of my questions (even the stupid ones, like, "will I ever have perfect teeth?"). Ultimately, I ended up having 2 root canals, and the best teeth cleaning I've ever had. My experience was nothing shy of tremendous! I can finally say to anyone asking, "Yes, I have the perfect dentist!" I definitely don't have the perfect teeth... but Dr. Balikyan is a dentist... not a magician! This guy gets my TOP of the TOP Recommendation to those of you looking with some trepidation more

A good dentist is hard to find so when you find one that is professional, friendly, thorough, gentle and flexible you latch on and don't let go! I found Dr. Balikyan through 1-800 DENTIST because my old dentist had recommended me to see a periodontist which wasn't covered under my insurance. So I decided to find a dentist with a gum specialty for a 2nd opinion and if I needed a specialist I would go at that time. I was connected to the office and Jennifer was super helpful on the phone answering my questions and recommending that I contact my insurance just to make sure I'd be covered. I made my appointment for 2 days later in the week. I got to the office and the waiting area was clean and smelled nice. They have a fishtank that separates reception from the dentist chair area in the back (just like in Finding Nemo!). Jennifer greeted me and got me all my startup paperwork. I had to wait a bit after filling everything out, but it wasn't her fault, the doctors were just backed up. When I got called back to see Dr. Balikyan he was so professional and friendly! He listened to my problem without interrupting and then explained my options and treatment possibilities. In fact, he explained everything through every step of the process: consultation, exam, xrays, treatment, 2nd xrays and future care. No treatment was forced on me and everything was laid right out for me to evaluate on my own with no pressure. Carmen, another of his staff, brought me a print out showing what my insurance would cover for the procedure I was able to get that SAME DAY and what my share was, so there was no question as to the money involved...no surprises at the end. I just had my follow up appointment today and I had the same great experience. Excellent communication, professionalism, explanation of treatment options and plan of attack for healthy gums and the whole staff is incredibly friendly. I really can't say enough great things. If you are in need of a dentist I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Balikyan. more
