Having been doing the pie circuit of late and coming up empty handed, we decided to try Oregno's Saturday afternoon, after the Fiesta Bowl Parade (12/30).\r
It was a good ike from Central Ave but WAS IT WORTH IT!!!!\r
The place would remind you of a pizza place in New York or in Little Italy in a major city.\r
Service....outstanding! Despite the place being busy were tended to right away.\r
Carmen was our bar server and what a personality! The other service staff was equally friendly.\r
We had a thin, medium size pie with roasted garlic, carmalized onions and sausage, extra crispy.\r
We got just what we asked for...cracker thin crust, great sauce and toppings to die for! We ate the whole thing, including the outer crusts whcih is generally a no no with us.\r
The menu is extensive and what we saw coming out of the kitchen was mountains of food! No pretentious presentation here....here's your large plate of food....eat it!!!!\r
January 1st we agreed to try it again to see if it was consistent. Right On!!!\r
The basic pepperoni & pepper was a masterpiece, and even though we couldn't finish this one, the cold pizza was as good as the hot one later on!\r
This place is really huge so if you see a lot of cars in the lot, don't be discouraged. Inside there's an eat at bar, inside table seating, an outside bar and outside seating!\r
Too bad we won't be in Phoenix after January 31st......but if the one is Tucson is as good, that'll be our new haunt, even IF it's 75 miles away!!!!\r
Pros: Great pizza on Camelback Road...PERIOD!
Cons: Blink and you'll miss it!
