A Lil Tip 4/25/2010

I've been going with my family here since I was a little girl. I LOVE THEIR FOOD!!! We always order the same thing: Shrimp soup, steam rice, shrimp chow mein, after that meal I tend to have an order of their beef sticks AMAZING with their peanut butter sauce and to drink a thai iced tea. \r \r True sometimes you wait for a good while, thats because their food's good and ppl tend to go there and eat, and when ever my family encountered any problem with the food (which we have plenty of times) my father will complain and demand for them to deliver them a better quality of the order and no they didnt charge us for that food and if they did u gotta demand them not to and just pay for what you think is right. I mean this is a great restaurant it's up to you on how you approach the situation.\r \r And yeah the ambience is kinda cheezy but common it's and old restaurant run by asian ppl in LA. What do you expect? But that dosen't bother me, the food makes up for anything and everything.\r \r So to those who don't like this place good that means I'll be waiting a shorter period of time and for those who know what's good cheers! Pros: Cheap, Great food Cons: Same as any other restaurant, more

Ocha Classic is a Disaster 1/22/2010

I went to Ocha Classic after hearing about it from a friend who highly recommended it. First of all the wait was long. I assumed this meant the food would be worth the wait. I was wrong. I ordered a standard thai dish, curry. When they brought it out it legitimately smelled like a barnyard. Think pig shit stuffed in a hoof scattered amongst straw. I couldn't eat it without gagging. They wouldn't take the food back, even though it was the poorest attempt at curry I have ever encountered. So essentially I paid a little under 10 bucks to smell something that resembled manure, which they tried to pass off as curry. Don't try this. Pros: Cheap Cons: Food was terrible, service was terrible, long wait more

I LOVE OCHA!! 12/5/2009

I've been coming to this restaurant since I could eat, its somewhat of a family tradition to come eat here, whether it be with my whole family... or just a friend or sister... The food is great the seafood soup is so delicious!!! clams, oysters, octopus, shrimp, fish... (my sister can only eat any of that in this soup) fried rice is also delicious, chow mein... overall the food is just great, the service is so-so and the ambience isn't the best but the food makes up for all that :) Pros: the food is great Cons: a lot of loud people in the weekends, long lines (weekends) more

Excellent 1/21/2009

I've been going to that restaurant since I wa about 11 years old and it is the best thai food I've ever taste and I've been going to other places to compare it and they are not half as good as this one. Ask for the spicy 7 seas sea food more

BAD SERVICE 10/28/2008

wanted to try a new place, went there with 4 people. waiters come and go , ignoring us. finally we order, they end up bringing completely wrong dishes. we asked if we would get charged for those wrong dishes and they said yes. they dont understand the concept of ""customer shouldn't pay for meals they didn't order"". the food was ok, prefer tips house for fast thai food. Pros: location Cons: SERVICE, FOOD more

Good, cheap, take-out Chinese 3/2/2008

There's plenty of pan-asian restaurants in Korea-town, but I was delighted to find this value-- so worth it because the chinese-thai-japanese food is reliably good instead of just passable in each of those arenas. I haven't ever seen vegetable dumplings on their menu, but they were recommended to me when I asked about meatless egg rolls and they are fantastic. You get a lot of food with your order, and yes, it's a touch heavy, but overall the place is just what I want in a in a local take-out joint. Pros: you'll find what you want with a good price to boot Cons: the interior can come off a Little dingy more

OTJAS, the way our kidz like to say it... 12/20/2005

A place to go, for good, cheap and fast served food. We go here already for years together, w/ kids or w/ friends and family. Took our parents from Holland and they also loved the food, and they are critical. The spice seafoodsoup is of the hook, and let me tell you if everyone orders someting else, you'll hav e feast that is to big for the table. Mark my words, you'll go home and have the same the next day at your own place (unless you eat it all). Pros: cheap, fast seved, tasty Cons: atmosphere, parking, waiting line my aply more

ask for 7 seas soup 6/13/2004

The highlight of the house is the so tasteful 7 seas soup. Oh my gosh, anytime you need a pick me upper go here. This soup is the best soup in the world. No other soup can compare. I love this place for that soup. It is forever crowded but worth the wait after you have had the 7 Seas soup. can you ""Siete Mares""? Even the asians that work there know what that means. I reccomend this place. Oh the thai ice tea is the bomb too. Pros: 7 seas soup, Thai Iced Tea Cons: , long line, but worth the wait more

Great food but very inexpensive! 3/1/2003

I found this place by driving home from filming late one night and saw a ton of people out front waiting. I love Thai food but the biggest problem with thai restaurants is that you never knwo what you are going to get. I figured that all thos people could be wrong. Try the quail egg soup...very tasty. However, let it be known that when they say ""Hot"" they mean hot. The spicy garlic chicken is awesome but you'll probably suffer third degree burns. Also, the ""bird's nest soup"" is not a euphemism...it's an actual bird's nest! The service here is super fast. You have your soup within a minute of ordering and the fodd will not be far behind. If you can ever find a time that this place is not busy...you'll be in and out in very little time. A+ Pros: Great food, Super fast service, Very nice people Cons: A little dingy, Long wait on occasion, Noisy more

Superb 2/15/2003

My family is from Thailand and we visit the country frequently and this is my ultimate standard for authentic Thai food in LA. Along with its neighbor Vim Classic (also good), I've been going here for many many years. Stick to the Thai dishes (not the Chinese offerings) and you will taste pure un-Americanized Thai flavors. Try Hot Seafood Soup, Beef Salad, Pad Thai with the Thai Iced Tea! Pros: Fantastic Food, Fast Service, Great Prices Cons: Tough parking, Crowded more

Good food, good price, poor ambience 12/8/2002

The food was very good as was the price. This restaurant was an excellent value, but I recommend ""take-out"". Crowded ""cafeteria"" like atmosphere. The service was good too. Great hot chili sauce (green) and the pork Chow Mein was excellent. more

Best Thai Food 8/8/2002

You got to try the best thai food in town, unique and superb, don't believe me, just try it. Pros: good food, good service Cons: pay parking, crowded more

Good Food but not authentic Thai food 6/28/2002

I just went there for lunch and the food was excellent. However I have to admit, I was looking forward to the Chicken Curry but it did not have potatoes in it. This is what I am accustom to in most authentic Thai food restaurants. Let's just say it's not authentic. more

OCHAAA 6/25/2002

Basic, good Thai food at a very good price. Good service and very clean. I had the #63 (get it and find out what it is!) and enjoyed it...with enough left over for dinner tonight and lunch tomorrow. Pros: inexpensive, good portions, variety Cons: parking more

OCHA!! OCHA!! OCHA!! 6/12/2002

The decor is pretty simple, but the food is nothing short of extraordinary! You deinitley get more for you money and quick service too. I highly reccomend it for your Thai tastes! more

The Greatest 7 Sea Soup 5/30/2002

This small Thai Restaurant has a variety of traditional cuisines, but the most popular would have to be the 7 Sea Soup. It has a great tangy flavor with fish, shrimp and clams and the price is great as well. The waiters and waitresses are very nice and very attentive and speak one of three languages to explain what kind of food they have, english, spanish and of course Thai. I would definetely recommend this restaurant to all cultures. Make sure you have enough time before you go cause this place gets very crowded, quick, the wait is at least 30min for partys of 4 or more. Pros: Inexpensive Cons: Crowded more
