Moved to area and living in this dump right now: 2-17-2015\r \r \r Here is a breakdown on this jerry-rigged slum\r \r \r 1.) Holes in walls\r 2.) Rusted appliances\r 3.) doors falling off hinges\r 4.) paint all over everything\r 5.) white caulk all over everything\r 6.) unfinished and unpainted spots on walls\r 7.) Fridge ice cabinet broken \r 8.) Blinds broken and held on with tape\r 9.) carpet fraying\r 10.) shower has holes in it\r 11.) cabinets coming apart - wood falling off / rotting cabinets\r 12.) patio stain on walls\r 13.) unfriendly management staff (property manager and assistant useless cows)\r 14.) incompetent maintenance staff\r 15.) this is a slum property stay away\r 16.) noisy\r 17.) air conditioner not working properly - froze up twice\r 18.) non-maintained grounds - mildew on walls, stain on walls, paint old, spray paint on parking lot, white paint on trees\r 19.) trash not in dumpsters on ground\r 20.) bugs everywhere\r 21.) cracked tiles - mismatched color grout\r \r STAY AWAY!!! more

Doors falling apart, paint all over everything - carpet, mirrors, windows, cabinets. Blinds falling apart. Caulk and paint everywhere. you want ghetto move in here. Air conditioner froze twice already. Refrigerator without light. cabinets rotting and falling apart..literally wood rotten and coming apart\r \r Carpet peeling up in apartment - must have gotten it for free\r \r Management and staff need to take a class on customer service. Both the property manager and her assistant are unhelpful and useless cows - wish there was a way to give a negative rating here\r \r Parking sucks, amenities suck, maintenance dept incompetent - they actually got pavement stain on the walls. Garbage piled up near dumpsters people dont even use them anymore. what do they do? they are useless. \r \r My suggestion grab a couple of boxes and build a shack out of them it be the same as living here...what a mistake moving into this jerry-rigged dump\r \r Scott Uhrig more

I didnt mind staying here while I was there. I mean you cant expect everything perfect. Thats why I bought a home recently. For the most part it was okay. You will probably not find much better for the price but they will keep increasing the rent and parking is a pain unless you get lucky like I did and get a carport near your apt. Its worth paying 50 a month for your own spot. I liked the design of the apts but they arent luxury like they say. Everything is cheap and bad paint jobs. I stayed for 1 year and when my rent went up $80 for a new lease I said no thanks and looked to purchase sooner then I was going to. The air conditioning in my unit worked okay but it ran constantly and my bill was way too high. Im paying less now in a larger house with a pool! I thought the staff was always friendly. They at least were to me and I never had many complaints or things to fix but I was only there for 1 yr. Im very clean and I left the apt very clean. well expect to be screwed on your deposit. But at least it was only 500. I got less then 1/2 back and I dont know what could cost 250. I couldnt find 1 of 2 of my security pass cards so I expected to be charged for it. I couldnt find it, hadnt used it because it didnt work. I intent to dispute these holding on pure principal. There does seem to be a high turnover there. I saw lots comings and goings in y 1 year. I wouldnt say stay away at all costs but be careful and know what to expect. more

I've lived at Ocean Reef for almost two years now and have had a great experience. The location is great. I work in Miami and my partner works in Ft Laud so this is right in the middle and I love being able to walk to to the beach. The grounds are very pretty and well maintained and we enjoy walking our dog along the water. The maintenance staff has always been prompt and the office staff has always been courteous. My a/c broke about 6 mo ago, they came the same day to fix it and it hasn't had a problem since. The pest control man sprays my apartment every month, so I haven't had any problems with bugs. The only real negative for us is that parking is tight by our apartment, but there does seem to be plenty of parking around the other buildings. All in all, I think that this is a very nice apartment. more

Some of the negative reviews are hard to believe. I wonder if they are from people who got evicted. I have been here a year and just renewed. Although the water is a bit high, I have never had a large FPL bill, the a/c works great, the staff is friendly and helpful, I have had zero problems with bugs or rodents and the location is superb. The leaf blowing at 8AM would be annoying but I am up by 8 anyway so it really does not affect me. more

we had no airconditioning for 4 weeks during the summer and the staff told us to just go buy some fans and they would put the work order in. when they did ""Fix"" the ac they put in a new ac unit it was not installed properly so now still 5 months later we have to go in about every 3 months and have to have them fill the freeon because it leaks inside and blows mold everywhere. Also the only way you will get a carport or garage is if you take one on the other side of the complex no where near your apartment! The staff is unhelpful and rude unless you are a man and then they will atleast be polite just dont plan on having anything fixed or cleaned while you are renting. trust me when our lease is up we are out of here! DO NOT move here, They will lie to you from the moment you walk in the door. That is the only time they are nice after that you call them and the exact words they use are we will put an order in for it. So when something is broke they put an order in and you wait! During the cold spell, the heat didn't work, in the hot months the ac runs forever and so does your bill!!! The water is very expensive as well. They had a HUGE hole in the walkway and were told about it for weeks and they put orange cones around it! The heated spa didn't work for weeks and the pools were dirty as well with worms on the bottom when my sister came to visit I was embarrassed, There is garbage as you leave the property with stoves and benches and appliances all over, a nasty Walmart next door that during the Christmas season the police were running around the complex with drawn guns searching for looters, very scary! The guard sleeps at the door that is broken for weeks at a time, everyone can get in and out of here very easily. The pool bathrooms are so dirty, you would be better off walking to your apartment. The carpets are dirty and replaced who knows when~When the lease is up, so am I!!! Pros: waterway Cons: loud, high turnover, rude management, pool bathrooms bad more

I lived at Ocean Reef for three years and loved it! I actually just moved back to town and rented another apartment here. The office staff was always very helpful and the maintenance people have always fixed things promptly. Pros: Great location, beautiful waterviews, friendly staff Cons: pool not heated more

The other review here is totally correct. The management staff is so wonderful when you want to rent there. After that you will wait to get anything done in your apt. due to big problems there. They also lie about what you will pay approximately for electric bills and they never disclose the negatives within the apts. themselves/. These are old units and the # 1 problem is their air conditioning system that needs replacing. The maintenance staff has told them over and over again that they need a whole new system and owners will not do anything about it..Tenants then are getting charged huge bills from FPL,, the units keep breaking down. There is also a problem with INSECTS AND RODENTS. There are other numerous problems within the apts. themselves but the real problem is with management and owners..who never takes responsiblity with anything. They always turn it around (like the other reviews comments)....They say everything and anything to make you feel like you have no right to complain because noone else does...that is BULL.....I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE EVER...AND I AM A REALTOR. The floor plans here are really quite beautiful. However, I have spoken on the phone to a sales agent (Carol) who was out right rude, placed me on hold for over five minutes and told me that these apartments did not sound ""right"" for me. Little did she know, I had placed a deposit on one of the units in the past, but had to decline due to a job transfer out of the country. I have encountered other staff members there as well and they act as if they could care less if they rent an apartment or not. Feel free to look, but if the staff has such a poor attitude when trying to attract clients, I can only imagine how they treat their renters! Pros: 3rd floor water views & vaulted ceilings. Ocean Reef at SeawalK Pointe appears run-down & dirty. The security gate appears battered and is timed to allow tailgaters inside. Each morning when you exit you view a maintenance room at the gate with plywood in the window and appliances etc. on the lawn. Management is great upon leasing and then non-responsive and indifferent once you sign the landlord oriented lease or actually ask for service. Noise level has been high and the police are busy here. Managers response has been I don't hear anything,or I don't have a problem parking, and I am the one calling the police. Well, that makes me feel better. Maintenance is 1 - 2 weeks out per office. Appears to have High Turnover so you never know who is living next to you. Cannot recommend. Check with your attorney to review the lease and the police department to get all the facts before you commit to this property. Pros: In Florida Cons: Worst Rental In My Life more
