This is probably one of the best Chinese Restaurant in Sacramento. When I came here in America in '96 it was the first restaurant I ever ate in and it was great. Twelve years late...

Good Food for a Decent Price 8/20/2008

This is a great place to go for dim sum in the morning but even a better place for family gatherings. It's located on Stockton Blvd, which is not known as the best place to go to. Good food are usually located in the least place you'd expect it to be. It's a family owned business. It's pretty spacious inside. It's more of a family-oriented late night dinner get together. The staff are very limited with their english but are very pleasant. The food is always made fresh. Check out the family package deals. I usually go for package B. You actually get more for what you pay for. I would recommend this place to all my friends. Pros: Abundant parking. easy location, prompt seating, great seafood Cons: Service can sometimes be scattered. They spend too much time watching the big screen TV rather than being attentive to the customers' needs. more

I've been going to this restaurant for 12 years... 5/5/2008

This is probably one of the best Chinese Restaurant in Sacramento. When I came here in America in '96 it was the first restaurant I ever ate in and it was great. Twelve years later, its still great. My family always the $32 dollars dinner for four, but it can actually feed 7 people. Crispy Chicken is great, Bean curd soup is awesome. Peking ribs are delectable. and oh yeah Walnut Shrimp is indeed awesome, they should put more shrimp though, but hten again, most restaurants are not that generous with their walnut shrimp. ANyways, It's just great food. EAT HERE! Pros: Great Food, OK service, decent price for the amount of food Cons: near the gh etto, bathroom is kinda dirty, parking s ucks during busy days. more

BURY ME WITH THEIR STEAM SEABASS 10/9/2006

I am not going to tell you too much and you have to pay your own tuiton fee on this one. One of the best wedding dinner that I had ever attended. I was blown away with the steam seabass served with the chef's specialty soy sauce. The fish was so smooth it practically slide down your throat. The color of the seabass was just pure white and the texture was absolutely unbelievable. Next, was the ginger lobster, not under cook nor over cook, it was perfect!!! The whole dinner was meticulously prepared. I can't sit here and tell you about the whole wedding dinner, you just have to try it yourself. I do recommend that you go in a group because the menu is so extensive. If you could bring someone that can speak Chinese or Vietnamese that would be perfect, otherwise, just be patient. Pros: good parking, rose wood furnitures, large screen television more

still one of my favorite chinese restaurants 8/29/2006

great chinese food, service is a little eh..but prices are affordable and they give you large plates of food so you get your money's worth. almost every time i go there, which is a lot ever since i was a kid, they always have a few tables with loud speaking people or kids running around screaming. the waiters seem to ignore it but its very annoying. Pros: delicious food, clean Cons: limited parking space, usually loud/noisy more

Best Chinese 7/1/2005

Ocean King is still the favorite Chinese restuarant for my family and I for special occasions, and it is a local favorite among many people I know. Their honey walnut shrimp is the best i've ever had, not too sweet and batter isn't soggy. Their salt and pepper dishes, especially the crap, are the best you'll have. Their flavors are always well-balanced as well, never too salty, or too sweet, or too sour. more

Superb Chinese seafood 6/19/2005

I got a tip from a long time local about this place. The food was excellent - not greasy, not too salty, and very flavorful. The fresh Chinese broccoli was served without any oily sauce. The salt & pepper stir fried fresh flounder was also superb. The steamed chicken was served with a tasty gravy which went very well with steamed rice. Service was a bit scattered, although always with a smile. The customers appeared to be mostly Vietnamese Americans, which may be why the Chinese food is served with less oil and brighter flavors. Three of us ate heartily for $40 plus tip. Pros: not oily, very affordable Cons: scattered service more

Real Chinese food 3/17/2004

Some years back I married a Chinese woman who was originally from Hong Kong. I did not like ""Chinese"" food until she introduced me to what I call ""real Chinese food"". Ocean King is such a place and we keep returning over and over again. I love their ""salt and pepper"" dishes and my wife orders the stir fried rice with salt fish. Other dishes are terrific also. Yes it is oily, but how many fat Chinese do you see. Pros: Inexpensive, easy parking, not crowded early more
