In August of last year my wife and I used Oasis Moving for an interstate move. Almost a year later we are still trying to repair the damage from dealing with them.
From the beginning Oasis has proven difficult if not impossible to deal with. We were promised our move would be made within a span of three days, but from the outset the coordinator of the move Tally Shaito at Oasis tried to change even those plans, saying our delivery would be later than promised. It took several calls to fix this and only after I threatened to report my displeasure to the moving broker that set us up with them did he comply. Unfortunately that was only the beginning of our troubles.
One of our packages didn't arrive at all. They were delivered out of town to the other person whose belongings were also on the moving truck. We tried talking to Mr. Tally Shaito many times about getting the package back, but he stated in no uncertain terms that it was not his fault therefore not his responsibility. Yet during the same call one of the movers over the phone conceded: ""Oh yeah. I knew that package wasn't his."" But still Mr. Tally Shaito claimed it wasn't his responsibility to recover the package, even though he was the moving coordinator. That was almost a year ago. We have yet to recover that package.
The rest of our items did arrive but they were so recklessly handled that many were badly damaged. I understand things get damaged during interstate moves, but the difference is that this was done by a deceitful company that defies its own rules in dealing with claims. They state that they must accept, deny or state a reason for delay of a filed claim within 120 days after receipt, but it's been past that time since we filed ours, and they have yet to do either. We've tried contacting them countless times, but emails go unanswered and phone calls are met with impatience.
And these phone calls are largely with one person: Mr. Tally Shaito. When we last tried to talk to him about our claim and the fact that Oasis was late in responding to it, he said he wasn't responsible for dealing with claims. There's just one problem with that: Tally Shaito is President & CEO of Oasis Moving. If he's not responsible for it than who is? We confronted him with this information, but he responded that he couldn't talk and hung up. So frustrating is the run-around he consistently gives us that my wife was on the verge of tears the last time she got off the phone with him.
But it gets worse.
Oasis Moving claims to be accredited by the Better Business Bureau (BBB) on their website, but a simple search on the BBB website states that Oasis ""has a history of violating BBB name and logo policy and has falsely stated BBB accreditation or referenced the BBB name or logo in an unauthorized manner, despite BBB's efforts to get the business to cease using the BBB trademark."" Their BBB was revoked due to 33 filed complaints in the past 3 years and a complete failure to resolve those complaints and honor its agreements.
In short: not only are they a terrible company, they're outright liars.
