Completely different experience 7/22/2015

I'm so shocked at these comments. We've followed the small companies all the way until Winters purchased the last small company we had. We love them. Never had a problem with pickup (which after reading all your comments could be from holiday schedules or weather) and the driver is awesome and kind. Just called for a change to our service and it was not an issue. How can it get to a point in your lives that you can be so disappointed in the garbage pickup? more

POOR customer service 1/6/2015

I recently became a Winter Brothers as a result of them buying the local mom/pop garbage service I was using, Their lack of customer service is astounding. In addition to the dates/times changing multiple times without communication.....there was an issue of the driver damaging our private road. I made multiple calls to discuss the issue with them, and after close to 3 months it is still not resolved. They couldn't care less. The lack of follow-up, response to the issue, and regard for me as a customer is the reason why I am no longer using them. I don't recommend them!!! more

poor customer service 9/3/2014

First day of pick up and they didn't show up. Left a message and they didn't call back. Called again and they didn't apologize or care that I would want to cancel our contract. Left us feeling frustrated for trusting their promise of great customer service from a family run company. more

Unlike everyone else Winters Bros. offers single stream recycling 8/9/2011

After years of being the only region without single stream recycling -- Winters Brothers has brought in new 96-gallon portable trash and recyclable cans that allow for people to put all of their recyclables in one can without separating them into various categories - one truck comes and dumps the trash and the recyclables in separate sections of the trucks - talk about being convenient and environmentally responsible! more

Winters Brothers does recycle 8/9/2011

I can understand why the first reviewer was confused as the Winters Brothers new automated trucks are unusual in that they pick up both regular trash and recyclables simultaneously - but the two different sets of materials are dumped into to separate compartments in the truck. more

They don't recycle 7/13/2011

Winter Bros. just took over the company that hauled my trash in Ridgefield, CT. At the first pick-up I see the guy take my blue bag of recycle-ables and throws it in with the trash. After I spend much time separating and cleaning the bottles and cans. We are now looking for a new trash guy. more
