This company has an F from the BBB. 8/13/2011

This company has an F rating from the BBB. O2 fitness charged my account for an extra month's membership beyond what my original contract with Seaboard Fitness covered. I signed a membership agreement with Seaboard Fitness on 8/18/2010. O2 fitness bought Seaboard fitness before the end of my contract. I stopped attending the gym, but honored the remainder of the original contract. When that contract expired, O2 continued to charge me for another month's membership. When I called to inquire, I was told that O2's policy is to continue charging on a month to month basis after the contract expires. I did not sign a contract with O2, I signed with Seaboard Fitness, whose policy was to ask the patron if the membership should be continued. O2 claims it cannot refund the extra month's charge, even though I did not authorize any additional payments from my account. more

Great Gym 6/26/2011

i joined o2 when they had their first location at southern village. kept with them when the moved within another building. they opted to move to cole park plaza and that is when o2 became a gym. before it was as though i was working out at a hotel. now the facility is great....a pool, private rooms, a dark cardio room. i have trained with different trainers as well. i started with shawn. he's very good at training. i quit for a while mainly to do my own thing. then opted to start up again. thought i would shake it up and try one of their newer trainers allen. he gave me an assessment and i felt pretty good about being able to keep up. then at my first real training i realized he knew his business. it was the most challenging workout i have ever had. completely organized and well balanced. i have since upped my workouts with him to twice a week. i have noticed a definite transformation in my workouts and endurance. since training with allen my spin classes with curtis have become great rides(curtis is one of the best spin instructors in the area, i highly recommend him as well!). overall, it's a great gym. i live downtown chapel hill and many times, i am questioned why i don't go to the wellness center. honestly, i don't want to drive through campus with students walking in to the street while texting. and now since i have such great workout incentives, it's worth the additional 5 minutes to the gym. more

OK, not great 4/18/2011

They bought my gym and moved O2 in at Cole Park Plaza. For the most part not bad. The classes and most of the instructors are great. They lack classes for after work crowd. For example absolutely no spinning classes on Wednesday's. Maintenance is not nearly as good as the old gym. Many broken Cardio and weight machines. We were charged an ""improvement fee"" which I understand is an annual thing.(why not just include it in the price?) I have not seen much improvement though. It is as good as any gym I have been to, no better, no worse. more

Fail! 12/2/2010

Enjoy cancelling your membership at O2! It's a bit like a surprise trip to the surreal. Was a member for years - O2 moved out of my nieghboorhod and we didn't attend anymore. Took me 4 months to cancel. more

Great classes, you'll learn new things 5/18/2006

I've been going to the Chapel Hill location for 5 months now and I really love the classes. Alison M's step and sculpt will change your body. Front desk staff was a bit shaky at first, but they've addressed my concerns. The cardio equipment is the best I've seen. Pros: Nice facility, great location, excellent classes more
