Northern Virginia Roofing and Exteriors

We had significant hail damage done to our shingle roof and Northern Virginia Roofing came by and checked it out and essentially replaced the roof. It's guaranteed for about 20-30 years. It was nothing short of professional. Folks who have come to see it and know a lot more than me about construction have said that they've done a great job. We've had the AC repaired in the attic and the workers commented on how they could tell from the inside that they had done a great job. I hope I don't have to, but if I do I'd definitely use them again in the future. They do what they say they're going to do and that means a lot. more

We scheduled it, and they arrived when they said they would arrive. The job was done fairly quickly. They cleaned up everything when they left. more

I had a tree fall on my house and John from Northern Virginia Roofing repaired the roof. They deserve 5 stars, as I haven't had any leaks since their repair 2 years ago. Great work, great service. more

I was really pleased with Northern Virginia Roofing. I had them out twice. They did shingle repair and some wood repair. They did a good job at a reasonable price and they cleaned up afterward. more

I guess when it comes to replacing the whole roof they are ok??? I can guess this from all the positive reviews. BUT when it comes to repairing your roof don't let them touch it. I had them place a tarp on my roof (to latter come back and repair)when they put the tarp down they used staples (all over the top part of the roof)which caused a lot more damage and now I am looking at having to replace the damages they did. Even a basic roofer knows not to use staples. I had my insurance company say the samething. They don't know what they are doing. RESPONSE FROM Northern Virginia Roofing: NVR went out to tarp Mr. Amours roof right after the Hurricane in the fall because of a roof leak. An insurance claim was made by Mr. Amour for a full replacement roof, but since his roof was in poor condition to begin with, his insurance company refused to pay for a new roof. NVR offered several alternatives to fix or repair the roof. Mr. Amour expected us to credit the full $600.00 tarping fee in return for some minor repairs, which we believe he was reimbursed for by the insurance company. If his insurance company would not pay for this then his complaint should be with the insurance company not us. In addressing the staples in the tarp complaint; there is no other way to install a tarp on a roof, except with staples or nails, otherwise the tarp would not stay down in high winds. It appears Mr. Amour is less than forthright when lodging his complaint against NVR since he used a fictitious name (Mike Smith). We hope that anyone who reads this complaint would take into consideration that the work was done for him (tarping) was done properly, quickly and professionally. more

They have done two jobs for us. The first was install all new siding to our house. They matched the outside fixtures and trim beautifully. The second job was replacing our roof after a hail storm. Both times they were there when they said they would be, and finished the job in the time they said they would. They are very reliable. more

The guy that Northern Virginia Roofing sent over to check the roof told us exactly what we needed for the situation. He was conscientious on the pricing. He gave us a rebate without us asking. We were a little short on money at the time, and he was able to work out the difference for us. He really bent over backwards to make sure we had a good job done. The workers were polite and courteous, and they cleaned up afterwards. There was no mess and no nails. That was a real bonus as far as I'm concerned. more

Excellent experience. We did a big job with Northern Virginia Roofing after a hailstorm wiped out our roof. The insurance even declared it a disaster area after the storm. We interviewed a number of roofing companies and talked to the guys at NV Roofing. I'm a compulsive detail-oriented guy, and I thought they were very knowledgeable and patient when I had a lot of questions. It was a very big job, and they answered the questions I had. They worked with me to get the products I wanted a very big, expensive job. I was impressed that if they didn't know something, they would call the technical people and hook me up with them to help me out. They were willing to answer the questions needed to get the job done the way I wanted it done. When it came time to execute, they did the job and took care of any issues that may have come up afterward. more

Well, Northern Virginia Roofing was easy to deal with, and they came out when they were supposed to. I suppose you can't ask for much more than that. I had them do a roof repair. more

Northern Virginia Roofing did a great job. I have recommended them to other people. The person who came was quite excellent. I had lots of questions. As far as customizing the quote and answering all questions, he was fantastic. The quality of work was excellent. There was one little issue with the solar attic fans, but everything else was excellent. The fans created an interesting experience, since they had not ordered the right ones the first time, but they fixed it and got it right in the end. The work was very quick. It was done over a couple of days, and the roof looks great. The roof has held up in a derecho, where we didn't lose a single shake. A derecho is a really bad straight-line wind storm, and other people lost trees, but we didn't lose a single shake. I was thrilled about that and shocked, too. more

I'll tell you, I paid a lot of money for my protected gutters. When Northern Virginia Roofing replaced my roof, they said I couldn't have my gutter company re-install my gutters, even though I had a lifetime warranty with them. I thought they wanted to benefit from charging me more. I think they're pretty greedy. When I had Northern Virginia Roofing replace my shingles, they removed my protective gutter guard. I needed it re-installed, and when I asked them to do it, they said "oh, no, no." Instead, they offered their own product or something like that. I felt like it was not in my own but their best interest to use their own product, instead of allowing me to have my gutter company come replace them. more

We've had no rain yet, and that will be the real test, but they put in our metal roof several years ago, and it was very good. They were very accommodating, and we feel they did a good job. They did our skylights too, which were leaky recently. That is why we had them come back. more

Northern Virginia Roofing put in a new architectural style shingle roof on my house. They did a great job. The job was completed as scheduled and they cleaned up after themselves when they were done. more

We had a lot of hail damage in this area. Northern Virginia Roofing did my neighbor's roofing and that's how they were referred to us. They put in a new roof for us. They also installed one vent and we had to have them come back out because it was leaking. They came and they fixed it though. more

We had a great experience with Norther Virginia Roofing. First, we had major leaks during last year's hurricane and Shane from NV Roofing came out in the middle of the storm to secure everything for us. Over the next month or so, a number of repairs need to be made. The staff was helpful in getting us taken care of even when they were so busy with so many clients needing help after the storm. Bethany and the rest of the office staff are always so nice when we have called and super prompt in whatever we needed. We will definately use this company again for our roofing needs. more

We have used Northern Virginia Roofing on two different occasions. Each time the job went very well. Everybody from the initial sales visit to the people who did the job, were very professional and knowledgeable. In one case we had to call them back out to fix a few small issues and they came out right away to resolve that. All in all it has been a very positive experience. more

I liked Northern Virginia Roofing, but they did not do the job right the first time. They had to come back twice because it was dripping in the back of the house, along the gutter line. It was not a major issue but it needed fixing. Otherwise it was great. They were pretty inexpensive. more

We had an overall outstanding and excellent experience with Northern Virginia Roofing, and especially with our direct sales rep, Paul Flynn. Paul was extremely knowledgable about not only all things roofing, but also, all things related. He was the only rep, of the 6 or so we had out, who took picutures of the roof and then shared them with us. The pictures were very helpful and it really felt like Paul had our best interest at heart. Based on his recommendations and photos, Paul also provided recommendation for a mason, so that we could have work done on the chimney BEFORE we had the roof replaced. This ensured that that the new roof would not be damaged or dirtied by the masonry work. Paul also was the only one of the many vendors to come out to correctly understand the ventilation between our two roofs, which resulted in the best, and most economical attic/roof ventilation solution for us. Paul was there on the day of work, during which we had all of our roofing, all of our plywood roof, and our attic fan replaced. Paul also tirelessly helped coordinate the removal of our gutter helmets so that the roofing work could proceed. The workmanship was great, the insallers were courteous and efficient, and Paul's assistance throughout the process was nothing short of awesome. Throughout the entire process, there were no surprises, and we are extremely pleased with the finished product. We would highly recommend Northern Virginia Roofing, as well as Paul Flynn. more

I had tried one other roofing company but I was not happy with them. I called Northern Virginia Roofing and they came out and honestly assessed what needed to be done and recommended some great things. I thought they were honest and that is why I liked them. They got the work done quick and right on time. They did not have the lowest price, but they did a great job. They put a roof on a house that I was taking care of for someone else. I will probably call them in a year or so to put a new roof on my own house. more
