North Star Mall

Just took my daughter to Visible Changes at North Star Mall and this was the first time she's been to Glen. We read the reviews and they were all positive, So we thought we would give Glen a try. He did not disappoint. He listened to what my daughter wanted and left her with the best hair cut and style she's ever received. He had a great personality and his sense of humor is comforting. Looks like she found her stylist for a long time. Everyone needs to go to Glen and I GUARANTEE you will keep going back. Thanks Glen for making my daughter happy!! more

Anna Lisa was touted as a color specialist. Having been a color specialist, myself, for 13 years I can assure you she is not. I asked for a full head of highlights and expressed my concerns about foil placement before she started the application. She made me feel at ease because she seemed confident in her competence. Then end result, however, told another story. At the shampoo bowl, Anna Lisa informed the shampoo assistant she was going to ""break my base"". A technique that I told the assistant I vehemently objected to. The next morning after shampooing and styling my own hair I saw the devastation that was my ""all over highlights"". There were ""bleed marks"" all over. Some even in my crown. Bleeds happen when the bleach is applied too close to the edge of the foil and the product ""swells"" into the hairline. These are so bad I cannot even wear my hair up. Also, there were several dark spots around my front hairline where she didn't get the foils close enough to my scalp, or took too large of a parting while placing the foils. I called the manager and expressed my discontent. He was very accommodating and asked me to come in at my earliest convenience to have the colorist ""check"" my hair and decide where to go from here. I went back in, and after telling the colorist I didn't want low lights, she offered to do some low lights to cover the bleed marks. The colorist was sloppy. Her idea of throwing up foils all over my head and slapping on the bleach however she wanted because she was just going to ""break my base"" anyways is really lazy. If I had wanted this technique I would have asked for an ""all over color"". The management was awesome and very professional. It was because of the management that I felt too cheap to ask for my money back. Since I originally wanted my hair very light, there was no way to correct my hair mistake other than letting it grow out. I will not be back. more

I am so happy you found your stylist and you now are taking your business elsewhere because I have been going to Visible Changes for nearly 20 years and have had a few bad experiences but Visible Changes has always taken care of my needs and I always come back. I love their stylists and their staff because they are very attentive and if it wasn't for their managers, then my few bad experiences may have never been addressed. Good luck and hopefully you still receive the best customer service from Shelly and her new team. So long fair weather guest. more

I have very curly hair and have always had a hard time getting a hair cut where the curls just lay right and flow naturally until.... I found Shelley! She is excellent at layering curls and cuts my bangs in a way where I can wear them both curly or straight easily. She also did my hair for my wedding and it came out beautiful. Before her I use to dread going to the salon, but now I always leave feeling confident that my hair cut will be fabulous!! Thankfully I was able to find an amazing stylist in San Antonio. I've been on the search for someone I trust with my hair since leaving my stylist in Chicago and Martin at Visible Changes in North Star mall was amazing. I've gone through multiple people, looking for the best, and now I have found him. more

Val and Meg are superkind really talented professionals who understood me and my hair immediately and knew exactly how to take beautiful care of me. I had the same stylist for many years until recently and changing was intimidating but the girls and everyone at the shop are so nice, it was easy to enjoy the experience and WOW did my hair turn out great. I booked my next appointment immediately! Val and Meg would be considered top level stylists anywhere in the world, I feel very lucky to have found them. And I would recommend Visible Changes to anyone looking for people who you can trust with your hair. Major thumbs up! more

I live in Austin, but was in San Antonio for my best friends wedding! We all went to get our hair done and I had the pleasure of having Glenn cut my hair! It was totally the best haircut I've ever had!!! I LOVED my hair and everyone at the wedding kept talking about it too!!! Weeks after my haircut, I was STILL getting compliments on my hair!!! I've gone back to Glenn a second time now and I totally plan on sticking with him!! It doesn't even matter that I don't live in the same city! It's always totally worth the drive!! I have been going to Glenn since I moved to San Antonio a few years ago and he is the BEST!! If you want to look your very best and have a ton of laughs in the process, go see GLENN. He will take his time and actually give you an honest assessment of your hair - not just be a drone and charge your ticket price up. I received the ever-pricey Keratin Treatment and it has been the BEST THING I HAVE EVER DONE! I just love him and so will you! I have been going to Ben for some time now. I love his work because hes very consistent, and always makes sure he does my color as perfect as he can. He also offers great conversation, and we share a lot of laughs. He is always making sure if I'm comfortable. And! he gives great head massages he puts me to sleep. Iv sent him several friends of mine, and even some family. All they call agree.Ill be going back to him soon for a touch up, and id have to say ""I'm looking forward to it."" Guess it goes to show you. You cant please everyone. But as long as your pleasing more than your displeasing. That just means your human. more

If you want an amazing hairdresser who will help you look beautiful, then Gabriel is your man! Gabriels been doing my hair for years and he is just amazing. I'm not kidding when I say people compliment me on my hair all the time! I've gone to Gabriel for over 20 years, but just a few years ago started getting highlights. They are just so beautiful and so natural looking. If you go to Gabriel you'll not only get a great haircut or color, but you'll be entertained as well. Talk about funny! Gabriel cracks me up and we laugh so hard every time I'm there! Call ahead if you want an appointment, he's so busy because everyone loves him! I have been going to Visible Changes for over 15 years and every single time Gabriel takes my breath away. Not only is he professional, he knows exactly what to do with my hair. He is the only hairdresser that my ENTIRE family has gone to and all 9 of us agreee, Gabriel is the best. We all look forward to new looks he gives us. more

I am taking this time to give ben two thumbs DOWN! I have been going to Visible Changes once a month for ten years. Everytime I go in I just walk in, I have never had a problem before. I always ask for a color specialist, I don't ask for anything fancy just one solid color and my formula is in the computer. The girl in the front told me that Ben was available with no wait so I went and changed I sat down and he went to the computer to get my formula and mix my color. After looking at the color I had decided to get my hair styled, because the color did not look right. Normally, I pay for my color service about forty-seven dollars (that does not include the blowdry), this time it was sixty-seven. Why the price increase? There was no price increase in the salon. I confronted the manager and she had no answer for me. Come to find out that Ben was promoting himself at a higher level than what he was. With the wrong color and being overcharged I left the salon to get it fixed at another salon and have vowed never go back . Exceptional? more

I would like to take a moment to give Ben 2 thumbs up! I have been using been for almost a year now and can say i will never use anyone else. I dont even live near Northstar Mall but after having Ben work his magic with my hair i am willing to travel the 35 miles out of my way. I live less than 10 from the LaCantera location but am perfectly fine with passing that one right up on my way to Northstar. I have passed his cards out and i receive compliments anywhere I go. I am proud to share with people his name and number. One thing I love about him on top of his adorable and bubbley personality is the honesty. Ben is an outstanding colorist and I am extremely pleased to have him color my hair. Defanitly will be sending more clients his way! more

I wanted blonder highlights for the holidays, I got Ben. Like I said I wanted highlights. Ben told me I could get blonder if I bleached out all of my hair. It scared me and then he also added it would be blonder, faster, and cheaper. I just wanted to be blonder. I did not ask for it to be cheaper or faster, I know that highlights take some time. Well, needless to say I was in the salon untill after it closed (so much for being faster). I had to go back the next day to have someone else fix my mess. My hair will be forever trashed, now, it fells like one big gummy mess. It sill is not fixed I had to go back twice to fix it and have had tons of condtioning treatments. So, my faster, cheaper service has not been cheaper or faster. DO NOT go that route. I DO NOT USE BEN. more

I was just at the La Cantera Mall and thought I would get a haircut and Visible Changes was empty so I walked in. There were four stylists standing near at the cashier and I smiled at one of them and she looked away. I then asked the cashier(an African American lady) if they take Amex and she looked surprised and told me no. After thanking her, I heard she was making fun of me saying ""uh-huh no."" Like I couldn't afford that place. Horrible! Toni&Guy at the same mall got my business and I was more than happy that Visible Changes has turned me away FOREVER. more

I drive over 80 miles to go to Riley & Jennifer at Visible Changes at La Cantera! They are great! They do absolutely wonderful jobs! I have always left there extremely happy. Will continue to drive an hour and a half for their amazing work. more

I have been to Visible Changes Northstar twice now - to do a run-through and then the real deal, for my wedding day. I am from Houston but someone suggested I call Northstar Visible changes. So I called, told them what I wanted and they suggested Logan. Logan was absolutely amazing!!! He is the best hairstylist I've ever been to, I was so ecstatic to have him do my hair for my wedding! If I didn't live in Houston, Logan would be my permanent stylist, I'm even considering timing my hair appointments for when we visit town! Each time I called Visible Changes to confirm appointments or to get information (we ended up having my bridal parties hair done here too), the staff was very informative, helpful, and friendly! more

Just got home from having my hair cut by Elena at La Cantera Mall. This was my first time with her and my haircut is perfection. She was friendly and very knowledgeable about hair that is difficult to cut (i.e. mine). I also decided to have the new Paul Mitchell keratin treatment. It was only $30 and took about 10-15 minutes. I can't believe the difference in my hair - it feels and looks like silk. Just a real nice experience and Elena really did a nice job on my hair. It looks great! more
