I have been hospitalized over 20 times in the last two years in different states and different hospitals. 5 of them have been at NCMC in the last three months. All 5 have been extremely negative experiences. The facility itself is nice, but that's about it. The doctors do not communicate with each other or the patient well, and will even fight with each other through patient, expecting patients to carry messages to the other doctor. Half of the nurses and PCA's are rude and disrespectful. They often refuse to pass along messages, questions, or requests to the doctor, even when the patient is having obvious adverse reactions to medication. They rarely answer the call lights within 10 minutes, and when you call their phones they are huffy, rude, and act like you are really putting them out. Their dining staff are inconsiderate and barge into rooms without knocking. Some even come in when they are specifically told to NOT come in because someone is changing. It could be a good hospital but the staff's lack of consideration make it a miserable experience. The only reason I keep coming back is because it's the closest to my house and the ER wait time is minutes while other hospital wait times are hours. more

""BY THE PHYSICIAN, FOR THE FINANCIAL BENEFIT OF THE PHYSICIAN"" The PRIMARY focus of this facility is to see how much money they can make. It is very hard to believe that their billing practices are legal. My advice is to call your insurance company BEFORE you go here to see if they are in network. This hospital did not sign a contract with ANY insurance provider for years because they wanted to be able to bill as much as possible. Only when the Cypress community started voicing their outrage at their billing practices did the hospital management start signing insurance contracts. more

Stay away from this place. Their focus is MONEY. Tried to overcharge me $1,200 for my son's surgery - thought is was a 1-time mistake. Nope. Went for an MRI - they had called and told me my co-pay was $247. When I arrived, they told me to cough up $1,250 then and there. When I told them that was incorrect, they told me I would have to rescheduled. I did - at Memorial Hermann for $123.40. Unless you are interested in lining their pockets do not use this facility! IMHO employees are pretty heartless - they don't see you as a person - they see you as money and LOTS of it. I have never been so mistreated at a medical facility as I was by the money-grabbers at this place! more

I stopped by this place on my way home from work, because I work late hours and it was convenient to my home. I had a UTI and just needed an antibiotic. This was in May. I just got a call from their billing dept. telling me my bill was $1408.00! I was in the place less than 20 minutes and the really sad news was about 3 days after I was there, they called me and said the antibiotic they prescribed to me will probably not work They gave me the wrong one. This is the biggest rip off! I don't know how these people sleep at night. Shame on you North Cypress Medical Center! The guy from the billing dept. even told me they charge different prices for different areas too! Do not go to this place!! more

Caveat Emptor. I have never had a problem with quality of care but costs are totally OUT OF LINE! Had a procedure scheduled and they called to tell me I was going to have to pay over $1,000 that day. Made a few calls and got the same procedure down just down the road for $290. Makes me sorry for the times I used them since I am still paying for some of it.\r \r Unless you have money to burn, stay away from this place! more

This is the worst hospital I have ever been to they do not care about your medical conditions they care about the money the doctor had no problem turning my sick daughter away because she had Medicaid after the 30 minute lecture I got about how he had to pay 200 dollars out of his pocket just to see a doctor. Mean while my daughter is still sick no meds and can't find a good doctor in my area that excepts Medicaid. I was informed by the doctor that cypress was a high class area and no one would except Medicaid that I needed to go on the poor side of houston to get help .... Are you kidding me is that discrimination or what? more

Stay clear of this Hospital. The Drs. in the medical center are fine but it is their service that is so terrible. They did not use to take insurance so they would make DEALS so you would go to them. They said they have nothing to do with the Hospital so do not worry. I went to my Dr. in Dec. 2012 for a check up. Lets do routine blood work and a test for H-pylory. The nurse informs me that they now take Blue Cross/Blue Sheild and you can use the lab downstairs. I give my card and proceed to give blood and fine out a few weeks later I am good to go with no bad news. Yesterday I receive a bill saying I have to pay my deductible towards all the bloodwork. Listen too this. It cost $3,407.00 for the routine bloodwork. Now I understand doing an H-pylory test may cost a little more.($700.00 for that) $3,407.00 for that. I could have had a Colonoscopy for that price and found out more. If I had gone to ""Quest"" or ""Labcore"" it would have been free to me because they are not affiliated with a Hospital. But remember, the Drs. said they had nothing to do with the Hospital. Don't believe anything that place tells you. And forget trying to work with the Administrator. He his the DEVIL himself. He will not reason or take any fault for the shortfalls of his billing. They know exactly what they are doing and do not care if you ever come back. They only care about the money. My husband had a heart attack 6 yrs. ago and we went to Cyfair Hospital and he was treated with kindness, respect and great service. Billing was so simple and trustworthy. Stay clear of N.C.M.C. more

Stay away unless you have $ to burn. I went in with severe abdominal pain and nausea. Just wanted a scipt for anti-nausea meds. Got an IV, a shot, a script and a HUGE bill. I went in Jan 2010. Got bill for $1900 a few months later. In July of 2012 I received a second bill for over $3,000. I contacted billing and was told the prior bill was for the dr and this one is the ""facility charge."" When I objected to the 18 month delay in billing I was smugly informed the law allows them 4 years to bill. more

Billing is very disorganized. CIGNA does not cover charges at this hospital. The hospital knows it, yet took my insurance card and said nothing and continued with treatment in the ER. No one said anything. Later, I receive a bill in the mail for over $5K. I went for a migraine headache and was given a pain pill and sent home. I called to inquire and their billing office told me my insurance did not pay anything. I called CIGNA who informed me that this hospital refuses to budge on their fees therefore, CIGNA doesn't have a business relationship with the hospital and won't cover charges submitted. After two complaint letters and a disharge request documenting my situation, my account was brought to a zero balance by the hospital and discharged. YET...I just received a bill 9 months after my visit there with an amount owed $187.98. REALLY? This is on the same account number that was discharged. I called and low and behold....""we have no such record of your account being forgiven. $187.98 is due."" I informed the rep that I KEPT THE DISCHARGE LETTERS FROM THEIR OFFICE SHOWING MY ACCOUNT HAS BEEN FORGIVEN AND IS A ZERO BALANCE. She said I would have to mail or fax them to their office because my account has no notes to reflect that. SURPRISE. =/ I faxed and mailed the letters 2 weeks ago and just got another call today about the supposed balance. This billing office is inefficient and the hospital's fees are OUTRAGEOUS. more

I took my husband to the ER on August 30,2012 @8pm because he had 106 fewer. he was in a critical condition they had to immeadiately send him to ICU for a few days for recovery but the next morning August 31 We received a visit from the financial dept-PAM KUR . she wanted me to give her $5,000 upfront . i told her we did not have any money she told me if I did not have money for the hospital than why did I take him there that i should have taken him to bentaub. so i told her he would not had made it if I did. she reply back well that's your problem.next time save money for this types of emergencies .then she ask me to take him out of ICU and take him to bentaub.BASICALLY SHE WAS KICKING US OUT! she said that they will no longer treat him if i didn't pay. I spoke to the Nurse and doctor about it the doctors said that ""he CANNOT LEAVE the hospital"" she then threathing us and continue to harrased us for money. she told me she would call immigration if I didn't pay her the $5,000 LOl well we are not immigrants OK! My husband ended up in the hospital for 8 days dueto his condition.but every day she would harrased us for money. I did reported her to her boss but as of today I haven't received a call but yet they are sending me court papers to pay when it has only been a week of his discharged.total bill was $55,000 after I told them I would make payments arrangements.anyways try to avoid going there they will charged you even the toilet paper! BE AWARE OF PAM KUR SHE IS RUDE,DISRESPECTFUL,MEAN ,AND UGLY!!!!no home training! more

AVOID THIS PLACE UNLESS YOUR LIFE IS LITERALLY AT STAKE! While the people are proficient and reasonably polite, their business model seems to be to charge as much money as they can legally get away with to people who are unable to think clearly, because they are SICK! I told them when I arrived that I had an HSA and I would have to pay for this out of pocket, and that I just needed to make sure it was only the flu. The flu of course is a virus and there is no treatment. When it was all over they charged me $2300 for an Advil. The doctor listened to my heart and lungs with a stethoscope and declared they were fine, then sent me in for an x-ray, and I quote, ""just in case"". Just in case what? You don't have enough for your boat payment?! When you go to a medical facility you need to be able to trust the people and not to have to watch them like hawk. If you need an arm reattached or you're almost dead, you can stop here, but for anything less I'd skip the place. more

Wonderful Hospital. Great Staff. Everyone was so kind. Billing was correct. Our experience with the everyone was excellent. more

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME!!! 3/2/2012

DO NOT GO THIS MEDICAL FACILITY PERPETRATING AS A HOSPITAL!!!! While the facility is nice and the medical staff is caring, the billing and management of this facility leaves more to desire than is worth!!! First, placing a hospital lien against me because they assumed I would be receiving a settlement on behalf of my child's 4-wheeler accident followed by unanswered attempts to settle this claim with their lawyer, Shelli Morrison, and resulting, in a lawsuit for unpaid medical bills although payments were made, North Cypress Medical Center is the LAST place I will ever step foot. Take a few more minutes and drive to Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center and avoid the witch hunt. more

Gross incompetence - AVOID AT ALL COSTS 2/11/2012

My dad was killed by the worthless, overcharging idiots here. The whole place should be burned to the ground. He came in via ER - they would only take him to the nearest hospital (calling this place a hospital is like calling Afganistan a ""garden spot"") because he was in distress - probably a pulmanary embolism, but we never knew for sure. Drs were not helpful, not communicative because they didn't know what they were doing. When they finally killed him 4 or 5 days later, the doctor wouldn't sign the death certificate!!!! Just wouldn't sign it. My dad was dead, literally buried in the ground, and we could not get a death certificate. The funeral home said they had this problem with them all the time because the doctors weren't properly licensed (easy to believe given the non- existent standard of care) so they could not sign a death certificate. Finally a family doctor signed it. Every time I drive by this place I want to puke. Please, please, PLEASE - go to a real hospital, with real doctors, who practice medicine, not just how to squeeze money out of patients. This place has one purpose - to separate money from people, it's a sham and a scam and you won't get better here. Why aren't there any good reviews? Because no one has had a good experience here. BEWARE! more

Awful billing and stratospheric charges never again 11/24/2011

The only reason I gave this place one star is because it is close to my residence. However, these people are thieves. They billed 15,000 dollars for a colonoscopy. Yes, a few polyps were removed but come on 15,000 dollars. I am going to argue the hell out of this, we will see where that goes. I have to go in for colon surgery and they were quick to offer their services. Not just ""no"" but ""hell no"". more

THE WORST PLACE EVER 11/8/2011

this place does not confirm that it is OUT OF NETWORK meaning they can charge you anything and get by with it more

Illegal billing, Medical Neglect. 10/8/2011

First, let me state that I am in the healthcare compliance industry. So, I know all the rules and regulations a hospital must comply with. So, when I say this place is a cesspool in a beautiful building - I can back it up. I took my mother there and much like the others who have posted reviews, my mother WAS promptly seen by an ER doc who reccommended admission, but then she was neglected, deprived of even her REGULAR medication (much less something new), lied to (doctor was always on his way to see her - yet he didnt arrive until I dressed her and attempted to walk her out of the hospital and before then I had attempted to talk to anybody who would listen including patient advocates). Then to top things off, they keep harassing her to pay $350 (despite the fact that she is Medicare/Medicaid dual eligible and its illegal to bill them for emergency services - which we have both informed them of) or else they will turn it over to collections and impact her credit. I thought after the last call that they understood, but now I will have to turn them into the regulatory agencies for their billing fraud. STAY AWAY!!!! more

SERIOUS OVERCHARGING 10/4/2011

Oh my stars - I don't know what these folks are doing! I believe they are trying to pay for their pretty facility with patient overcharging. We went to the ER on Spring Cypress. My 11yo daughter was having stomach pains. They started an IV, the doctor came in and said he didn't think it was appendicitis. They ruled that out with an MRI. They gave her a small dose of a muscle relaxer for the cramps, and two hours later we were home. I appreciate the speed with which we came and went - but not to the tune of $9000! more

Just an odd and expensive experience 7/8/2011

I took my 8 year old son in because his lip was extremely swollen when he woke up one morning, and I was afraid he might have a serious problem (like a staff infection or something, didn't want to take any chances with my son's beautiful face). I took a normal amount of time to get called into triage - 30 minutes or so - and the nice (and attractive!) male triage nurse said his guess was a spider bite or an allergic reaction, and that it might not be anything to worry about. more

rude unprofessional stafff 3/1/2011

Staff was rude unprofessional and Condasending. The office manager said she had 30 years experiance. She was not aware of lab practices. An equally unpolite nurse told me she would not treat me unless I FOLLOWED her instructions. The dressing they put on the wound merged into one. it was extremly painful. 30 years of wound care should have known this may have happen and something should have been done to prevent this. more
