Best

I can?t give a much better review than the above, except to add that merely typing that and thinking about them got me salivating. This place is awesome! As good as, IF NOT BETTER...

Best lobster roll in San Francisco, period. 12/20/2007

I spend mid-May through mid-Oct in midcoast Maine every year. The annual Aug lobster festival more

Mmm...lobster rolls...sooo gooood.... 10/17/2007

I can?t give a much better review than the above, except to add that merely typing that and thinking about them got me salivating. This place is awesome! As good as, IF NOT BETTER THAN, any I?ve had at fav places in Boston, Maine & Nova Scotia. I know them?s might be fightin? words?;but seriously, if you like lobster rolls or even just lobster, this is the place in SF for you. Also, they have killer chowdah, some great local Maine beers on tap, and excellent crisps served on the side! Oh yeah, the ?Maine? style of lobster roll is my fav; but, if you?re a lobster purest, go for the ?Neked? (replace the ""e"" with an ""a""- darn Citysearch detection of inappropriate words, even when their use is appropriate). more

Never knew eating lobsters can be so fun! 8/28/2007

We ordered the lobster bisque, the fried day boat scallops and the lobster dinner for two. This was my first time eating a whole lobster with bibs and all. I'm use to just having the tail end of the lobster served to me pre-cracked with a pretty bed of sides. So ordering this whole lobster and learning how to eat it was an awesome experience! Yes, you get the juices all over yourself, thats why I recommend wearing the bibs, and yes, it might be hard to get to the meat but it well worth it! This is definitely not a first date kinda of scene...unless you're both in the mood to look messy in front of each other, lobster juice dripping from your mouth and arms and have fun going at it!(the lobster) Pros: Ambience, Service, Food Cons: Parking more

If you like real east coast seafood 5/1/2007

I have to say, I am one of the pickiest seafood eaters on the planet. I have only had lobster once since moving out here............When I first visited the NBLS, I thought to myself that this was just another place pretending to be an east coast place. Pros: food and ambience Cons: parking more

Lobster Rolls were great! 4/14/2007

I was introduced to Lobster Rolls many years ago on the coast of Maine and search for them any time I'm in a coastal city. I found North Beach Lobster Shack and their recreation of the Lobster Roll superb. Casual and friendly, speedy service. I also visited very sophisticated restaurants along Fisherman's Wharf and near our hotel, but none were better than the Lobster Rolls and Clam Chowder at NBLS. We ate them two days in a row. Wonderful food hidden in an obscure place but worth searching it out. Pros: Great food and service more

Being a New Englander and all.... 4/11/2007

i should know a bit about, ""chowdah"" and ""lobsta"" rolls. I'd recommend them both at the North Beach Lobster Shack. The chowda was creamy and full of clams. Most places give you a bunch of filler and not many clams but not the NBLS. You get clams and plenty of them. I had the lobsta roll and that too was fantastic. Nothing but pure Maine lobsta piled high. The staff was very attentive. Next time it's a steamed lobsta for me. Pros: Great Lobsta and Chowda, casual atmosphere, attentive staff Cons: parking more

Craving Satisfied! North Beach Lobster Shack is here... 3/24/2007

As a regular customer of the Old Port Lobster Shack in Redwood City, my husband and I decided to check out North Beach. While it's a little smaller inside, it's still the real deal from New England. more

Slooooooooooooooooooooooow 3/14/2007

I know its a new restuarant but they do have a sister one in redwood city so they should know how to cook by now. They didnt have the lobster bisque or rice. And it look 45 minutes to get our lobsters. Then the owner said sorry and that he owed us one, but that was it. no coupon or discount or incentive to return Cons: parking in north beach, slow service more
