Every year during the first week of July, Traverse City is transformed for the National Cherry Festival. The National Cherry Festival pays tribute to northern Michigan's fruit: the cherry. The festival is a week long celebration with three parades, a midway, an open space with daily/nightly entertainment, kids activities, craft shows and more. Every other year the Navy Blue Angels provide a 2 day air show for the festival. The festival is a great time for the whole family.
