N.Y. Pizza- Wellington Park

we have been going to NY Pizza since moving from Jersey in 2008 and have been happy with the pizza up until April of this year. While we can get past the rude staff, we can't get past how awful the pizza has been....both the round and the square. The bottom is burned as well as the top, the crust tastes stale and the cheese is tasteless. And thats IF you get a freshly made pizza. Order a pizza toward closing time and they will reheat you one which has been sitting out trying to pass it off as freahly made. Sorry to say that Saturday was NY Pizzas last chance with us. We are wondering if there has been a change in ownership. more

Fair to tasteless pizza, but what will prevent me from going back was seeing the cashier handle cash and then handle pizza without gloves and without washing his hands. Gross. more

Moving away from Los Angeles to North Carolina has been a big adjustment, especially when it comes to the quality and variety of food available to me. NY Pizza has been my go-to pizza since I discovered them back in 2005. Now, I'm not from NY but I've been there and tried the real deal, NY pizza is as true to the name as anything I've eaten, even in LA.\r \r They give you the big portions you'd expect at pretty reasonable prices compared to big boys like Papa Johns and Dominos. Delivery is also fast. I imagine that is because they are not inundated with orders like their big chain competitors.\r \r Only downsides is like any small shop you run into occasional inconsistencies in the food and an attitude from the staff which can make them seem less than welcoming. Don't be turned off by the occasionally lackluster service or dismissive drivers, the food is worth it. Besides, it's pizza! If you're lookings for customer reps to wipe your behind for you, you'd go to a fine dining restaurant wouuldn't you? This is not NY style. You would think that a place calling themselves from NY would know what New Yorkers want. New York would never serve the way this place does, who eats meatballs and eggplant in a wrap? Don't really think they are from NY. Pros: Pizza Cons: No heros/subs more

We ordered a lot of pizza from this establishment in the past, but NO MORE. A few weeks ago, our pizza was delivered with a crushed box...cold, hardened cheese stuck to the lid and a delivery driver that rudely told us it wasnt his problem and he was busy. My wife called back immediately and ""the manager"" told us that we would be credited a free pizza the next time we ordered and the driver would be talked with upon return to the restaurant. Tonight we called to get our free pizza and were told by ""the manager"" that he was the ONLY manager and he had never talked to us, never delivered a pizza in the condition we stated, and called my wife a liar. I have 3 photos of the pizza and the crushed box with the NY Pizza logo and would post if possible. Anyway, please be cautious that when ordering delivery from NY Pizza as you may encounter very rude delivery drivers, managers that lie to customers, and a company that doen't value their customers. We will never order pizza from them again and plan to tell all our neighbors and friends about the poor treatment from such a reputable triangle restaurant. Shame on NY Pizza. I grew up in NY and Worked 2 years during HS in a pizza place on Staten Island. I live in Garner and drive to Cary once a week for NY Pizza. I have lived in many states, and have had pizza around the world, but this is simply the best pizza. They got the NY crust exactly right. The sauce is spiced perfectly. I've been coming to the Harrison store for years on my lunch break from SAS but I live over in Lochmere. Recently I started getting pizza from the store in Wellington Plaza and let me tell you it is Phenomenal. Everyone was quick to learn my name and remember my order... it's like the Cheers but Pizza (but there's a great bar next door too). Anyways that Mike kid that's always working makes a hell of a pie, I wish I could give it 10 stars. Pros: Quick, Tasty, Friendly, and consistent. Cons: Gawdy decorations and a busy parking lot. more
