My Neighbor's Place is a Great Place to stay in San Francisco 6/2/2007

We have spent nine wonderful days at My Neighbor's Place and will be sorry to leave a charming neighborhood and fine hosts. This one-bedroom apartment is conveniently located on several bus lines that fan out through the city, and a subway stop is a block away. Terrific organic market just down the street, and a fantastic little corner store with some of the finest fresh bouquets to be found in the Bay area. A wide variety of restaurants, from a French bakery with divine capuccinos and croissants, to an uppity wine bar with fine vintages from Croatia. We came to San Francisco for medical tests at nearby UCSF Medical Center, and were able to walk to and from our appointments, resting here in this lovely apartment in-between. Thanks to our travel agent Kay Gallagher for this great tip. We'll return as often as we can to this pleasant, quiet and finely appointed home away from home. Pros: Comfortable, well-appointed, quiet, welcoming hosts, great neighborhood, fair price. more

SF's best kept secret 1/9/2006

We loved this place. If you are like urban travelers like us then you appreciate that staying in a home or apartment when you are on the road is the ultimate luxury when visiting other cities. We've stayed in apartments in Europe, Asia and the Americas and Myneighbor'splace is one of the best places we have ever stayed in. The host-owners were terrific and their kids were darling. The location, Cole Valley, SF's own Park Slope (Brooklyn, NYC), is cool, misty, friendly and hip. Its a vibrant locale full of young professionals of all stripes and their families. Its also a breath away from Downtown, the Castro-Noe, UCSF, and the Haight. A small word of advice: the apartment is at the basement level and the kids are up early. We were unfazed (charmed really) but if you need total quiet then act accordingly. - Terry and Christopher Pros: inexpensive, views, convienent more

Wonderful Place to Stay 12/21/2005

My husband and I have always loved visiting San Francisco but staying at Our Neighbor's place made our recent trip the best visit ever. A few days after returning I emailed Colleen to make reservations for our next trip. I waited anxiously for her reply. We would have been so disappointed if we had to stay anywhere else. It was easy for us to get to our favorite places in the city and it is in a beautiful neighborhood. The apartment is very comfortable and spacious. I am very much looking forward to our next stay. more

Lovely, beautiful place. 6/29/2005

What a nice apartment in a beautiful location. The garden out back is lovely and the street is beautiful and quiet. We stayed here after our daughter had her second baby. Our older granddaughter had a wonderful time spending the night at the apartment with us--there is a clubhouse with a slide in the garden, a bench swing, a bouncy horse, and the owners even brought down a box of toys for us. We'll stay here any time we visit our family. (The owners told us that they are flexible on the 5 night minimum.) Pros: garden, space, pretty more

Great for business travel-tons of space. 6/29/2005

I stayed at My Neighbor's Place for business for several weeks and it is wonderful. The apartment is equipped with DSL and wireless Internet access. There is a spacious dining table which I used as a desk (which is separate from the bedroom--another bonus). It is only two blocks from the train and one block from the bus so access to any part of town for meetings is simple and convenient. Even better, with the pull out couch in the living room, my wife and children were able to join me over the weekend and we had plenty of space. The kitchen was convenient, but with so many great coffee shops and restaurants around the corner, we hardly used it (the washer/dryer, however, got lots of use). Pros: Internet access, space, comfort more

Great place to stay 3/13/2005

This is a wonderful place to stay. My aunt and uncle stayed there (I live nearby) and it was a great value, spacious, and the owners are fantastic. more

WE LOVE THIS PLACE!!! 3/13/2005

Now that we have stayed at My Neighbor's Place, we will never try anyplace else. The layout and furnishings are ideal, the location is perfect, and the neighborhood is so cute. We really felt like we lived in San Francisco when we walked to the corner to buy groceries to cook in our great kitchen, and then walked back to the corner for an ice cream dessert. We wish we were still there! Pros: location, neighborhood, furnishings more

Lots of quality space for longer stays! 3/13/2005

My in-laws used this apartment for a several week stay each of the last 2 years (there is a 5 night minimum). The location is absolutely lovely and the neighborhood friendly with just enough shops, restaurants and grocers to keep us happy. The apartment is large and well done with a nice kitchen and laundry, which really came in handy. They claim they slept better on the queen bed than at their own home. They enjoyed cocktails each evening on the private deck out back and the grand kids loved spending the night and playing in the fort and on the slide in the back garden. Pros: lots of space, high quality of space, convenient location more
