Good For Music Lessons, But Overpriced for Materials 1/1/2013

My kid took music lessons there for years. The teachers are very good and the environment is nice. But the music store charges materials and accessories at extremely high prices. This is my personal experience and I heard the same comments from several other parents whose children took lessons there. more

:) 2/3/2011

I recently visited this music school and was definitely caught off guard! I had heard about them through several friends who have kids taking lessons there and I had heard nothing but good things, so I decided to go check it out. As soon as I stepped in, I couldn't help noticing the tasteful and welcoming decorations. The lady at the front and the shop owner were both extremely nice and helpful. They actually had MY best interest at heart and were very patient with all my questions. I read reviews about their prices being higher than online prices, but compared to the other music stores in Atlanta, their prices are noticeably lower! more

Decent School, not a great store 5/6/2010

Good: Teachers are good to very good - main instruments are string family, piano, guitar and woodwinds, and about half of them are also pro performers. Owner is very good at instrument repair (violin family at least, I think he farms out other repair jobs). Tastefully decorated, comfortable waiting area.. Bad: Prices of equipment and supplies are not competitive with music stores which deal in much higher volume.. Improvements: Soundproofing of rooms could be better; teachers sometimes try to arrange lessons so they're not in adjacent rooms. Wi-fi would be nice. Some schools have more modern equipment like computers with music and recording software, printers, etc.. Other: Worst reviews here were very vague - one disparaged all the teachers, as if she had studied under all of them. Do-Re-Mi isn't super-great either; As usual, one should ignore the fringe on both ends of the scale.. more

friendly owners, good teachers 11/6/2008

Owner and teacher Mr. Zheng is friendly and an excellent teacher. The store is not meant to be a supply house so you won't get the cheap online pricing. However, in terms of music education, it is very good. Highly recommended for violin/viola instructions! more

Excellent experience. Cello teacher Young is outstanding. more

Booo... overpriced 10/4/2005

I went to this shop when they first opened, and had an awful experience. I was shopping a new instrument at the time and got a few to try out. The quality was poor and the salesman kept on trying to talk me into buying something I didn't want. Also, I bought a violin mute there once (as an emergency) and was charged TEN dollars for it. For those of you who don't really know about music accessories, a typical TOURTE FRENCH-MADE violin mute only costs around 2 dollars at other stores. more

Great service, friendly teachers 9/28/2005

I took cello lessons last year at Music Do Re mi, and found a remarkable teacher, who worked with you to help you become a better player rather than using standard guidelines, and comparing you to other students. The employees there are genuine and friendly and always there if needed. more
