I have long been a fan of the Museum of Natural History Museum. From the time I was a girl scout, through visits to my Grandma, and up to the present I fondly think of this museum and want to visit it yet again. If you think about it, a museum that spans the ages as well as it does deserves to been seen over and over again.
This museum has so much to see that I could begin to list it all here but I will tell you some of the favorites of my family. One room is full of Native American relics and displays and as you round a corner you will meet a friend of ours...the great Sloth, thought to have walked through this area hundreds of years ago!
Also found are a wonderful array of birds........rooms in fact filled with some of the most beautiful and intriguing aviaries I have ever seen. And to think someone donated them to the University is so neat....my kids are impressed that someone cared that much.
Also on display are fish and other wildlife wonderfully displayed in natural settings with explanation plaques conveniently nearby the exhibits.
While there is no charge for this museum, there is a small gift shop where you can purchase little "trinkets" to remember it by or if you are feeling really generous, where you can get information on how to be a patron of the museum and help it continue on.
Check it out.......it is spread all over the building so be prepared to walk a bit, but be assured it is worth the walk.....it is neat....interesting and educational as well!
