Best

I was blown away by the Museum of Glass. I expected wall-to-wall Chihuly's, and not being a huge Chihuly fan - had limited expectations. It was one of the best $10 days I've ev...

Worst

Don't bother paying for admission. There is very little glass inside. All the cool glass is outside, and you don't have to pay to see it. The restaurant was nice, if a bit pricey....

Fun place 3/16/2011

This museum has surprisingly fewer pieces of art than I had imagined it. Theres a lot of open space, but the number of pieces to check out is actually pretty limited. The bridge connecting the museum to downtown actually has a large portion of the museum's art on display without even going inside. If you have a discounted coupon or go on a day when admission is free, it will be worth your time. The hot shop where they have the glass blowing presentation is probably the best part about the whole museum. Its fascinating to watch them do their work. more

Below average museum 12/31/2006

The art galery in the museum is a big disappointment. It has too little glass art, something that you would expect to be the forte of a glass museum. Instead they have a bunch of unrelated art (e. g. pictures).\r \r The hot shop is really the only thing worth the trip (but not the $10 fee). They (grundge-like dressed guys) take some time to make a vase, but the place is very interesting (the huge steel dome that you see from outside) and you get a good view of that they are doing.\r \r Also, their gift shop has some unique art, but it is all absurdely proced. You better shop somewhere else if you can resist the spending urge. more

Great Vallien Exhibit 3/8/2003

The museum was smaller than I expected. The Hot Shop was very cool and I was impressed by the exhibit. Vallien's work was unreal. I have never seen anything like it. The moving sculpture in the back of the room drew me in. I was also relieved to discover the museum wasn't a shrine to Chihuly. It has some of his work on the Glass Bridge but the museum doesn't revolve around his stuff. more

Hot Shop worth the Price of Admission 12/1/2002

While the museum galleries itself leave you asking the question, ""Is this it?"", watching the artists at work in the Hot Shop is well worth the trip. The outdoor exhibits of the Chihuly Glass on the bridge is awesome. Be sure to visit Union Station across the bridge for more Chihuly glass. For a great lunch, hit the Swiss pub at the top of the steps. Park for free outside of Union Station. more

The best glass is outside 9/21/2002

Don't bother paying for admission. There is very little glass inside. All the cool glass is outside, and you don't have to pay to see it. The restaurant was nice, if a bit pricey. Pros: Outside glass, Hot room, Cool apples Cons: Not much glass inside, Boring exhibits more
