Editorial review from Citysearch 7/7/2012

Camera went on blink after 3 months, they sent it off, now 4 weeks later, no camera. When inquiring about it the guy says, nope, it's not here and won't be here till it's fixed I guess. Kind of arrogant to say the least and I got a little upset, which I rarely do. If these guys cared they would offer you another product or replacement. I know the camera failure was not their fault, but be willing to bend a bit and reach out to the consumer! more

NEVER AGAIN! 6/7/2011

NEVER AGAIN!! Horrible customer service. Condescending attitude. Very unwilling to come up with a solution to our problem. I am a firm believer in shopping locally and frequent stores like Josie's, Cha Cha's, John's Run/Walk Shop and The Black Market. I will however, never shop at Murphy's again. I purchased a camera there for my daughter and it broke 3 days later. When I went to return it, they would not do ANYTHING even though I had all the packaging available. Sadly, I found the exact same camera at Target later that day, for less $, and I know they take returns, no questions asked. Guess that's where I'll shop from now on. more

Poor Service no respect for repeat customers 12/25/2009

Let me start by saying I am a photographer, and ""recently"" switched over to using Murphey's for my clients prints and was very much satisfied. I just did my first client with $102 in prints. The prints are done at another location in Louisville and shipped to this location. However my client had a need for some additional photos for Christmas day, I ordered the prints on 12/18, and was told they would arrive at the Lexington Location on Monday, I spoke directly with the lab in Louisville and she offered me to pick them up on Saturday if I wanted to drive out there. After explaining my schedule, she offered me to pick them on up Thursday Christmas eve, though advising me they will be closing at 3. I agreed this would be fine, I had to work the eve, and I called in the late morning to the Lexington location, and confirmed they were open till 3, and I work about 60 miles north of my home in Florence, so I arrange with my employer to leave at 1:35. I arrived at Lexington store at 2:50 per my cell phone which corresponded with my atomic watch, I walked in the store, realizing I left my wallet in the car, I walked back out to my car and as I was reaching in my car for the wallet I could hear the deadbolt lock. I walked back to the door, it was 2:53 PM at this time. I knocked on the door and they glanced up from behind the counter and completely ignored me and went back to what appeared was counting the drawer. I knocked again, no response, so I attempted calling from my cell phone. and no answer, I left a voice mail with one person, and then proceeded to call back again and left another voice mail with another person, it was 2:58 PM, by the way two other customers had pulled in the lot expecting them to be open. So next I called a Lousville location spoke with Amy, and was explaining my situation and what appears to be happening, and she apologized and said that seemed odd, we would never do that, implying her location. She attempted to call the store for me but she said they had switched all their phones over to after hours. I told her that I would see if they can assist me when they come out the back, and she agreed thats probably all she could advise. So I waited, and while waiting the door opened up and someone was putting a trash bag in a bin right next to the employee door, and I sad "" Sire, Sir"" and he very well should have heard me but quickly closed the door. I waited about 8 more minutes, and then the 4 remaining employees were coming out and I satrted to apologize for their inconvenience and that I was in the store, and went to get my wallet and the door was locked behind me about 8 minutes before your posted closing time, and I had a client I needed to pick up photos that you have ready for me and I called earlier and just then... one of the guys said ""sorry were closed"" and pretty much the 4 employees completely ignored me walking to their car but the gentleman who's car I was standing next to, appeared to give a little more interest, and said I don't have a key, and I asked him w is the keyholder or is in charge, and he referred me to the vehicle of the guy that made the earlier comment, and he was already backing out. At this point I became somewhat upset and very disappointed. I believe I can still recommend Murphey's as a company, but not the Lexington Location, its the same people there day in , day out, and its very clear from the prior comments, they lack listening skills and customer service. Pros: Quality prints from online Cons: Poor Service more

Great service many times 11/25/2009

I have been to Murphy's many times and have had great service all but once. I always had the same guy wait on me & he is nice, knowledgeable, & very helpful. I went recently and he was not there so another man waited on me. I felt I was bothering & boring him. I will go back and look for my usual sales rep in the future. Wish I remembered his name so I could ask for him instead of trying to describe him. Pros: local camera shop, knowledgeable people Cons: Depends on who waits on you more

JUST TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE 9/15/2009

IF YOU WANT TO SPEND A LOT OF MONEY FOR NO SERVICE, SHOP HERE!!!! After buying the best Nikon package available the camera quit working in LESS THAN A YEAR. After taking the camera back to the store the sales people essentially said that IS THE OLD model and we do not know much about it anymore because we are selling THIS NEW MODEL now and would I be interested in buying that camera and accessories? It cost me another $350 to mail the camera in for 'service' and NIKON didn't change ANYTHING. You would have a better shot at customer service from EBAY!!!! By the way the unit cost more than $3000.00. Colossal mistake. Pros: can't think of any Cons: NO CUSTOMER SERVICE! more
