Worst

I took my dog here because they had the earliest opening and were nearby. First off, the front desk staff are totally rude and unhelpful. They snap at you, clearly don't care abou...

Dr Jones left- so I did too! 7/8/2013

Dr Jones was our favorite vet and she left this practice, so we are leaving too. The staff is rude and it's too focused on money. more

Great in answering my questions 7/25/2011

I have been taking my 2 cats, Emily & Sylvia, here since I adopted them about 4 years ago. All the vets treat my kitties like the princesses they are and are always great in answering my questions, even odd ones. And when they do the more unpleasant tasks during checkups, they make sure to let me them know that everything is going to be ok. more

Vets here love animals! 7/22/2011

I take my cat and dog here and they are always thorough and friendly. I rarely have to wait, and they have Saturday hours which is great. All of the Vets seem to genuinely love animals, and they always take the time to explain vaccinations, medications, etc... I feel relaxed and comfortable and trust them with my little ones. They also send out reminders when it's time for shots. more

Wonderful experience 7/15/2011

I must say I never took my cat to the vet, until after my baby got into an animal fight one night out and got injured (slept, afraid to walk, didn't want to eat or drink) I called Dr. Wilkerson and he treated my cat as if she were his. Within a month of giving me the information, medicine, and follow-up needed - she was back to normal. Since then he has been her vet to go to. more

A short, great story. 7/13/2011

One night when I was on my way home from work, I saw a cat on the side of the road. She'd been hit by a car but was still alive. I put her in the back of my wagon and took her to Mt. Airy--the hospital closest to my house. They admitted her without question and patiently answered all my questions when I called for updates over the next few days. Unfortunatley, the little cat (they named her Gemma and tried to post and find her owner) had to have one leg amputated, but she did survive the accident. When nobody came forward to claim her, I decided to adopt her. They didn't charge me for any of the medical expenses she incurred during her 3-week stay. The staff saved our little Gemma's life, and I will always be grateful for that (ps: she's thriving after 6 months with us and she jets around the house as if she never had a problem). more

Prices are reasonable 6/30/2011

As a new puppy owner and slightly overprotective person, I've brought my dog in to see Dr. Jones several times. She is calm and attentive, and never makes me feel ridiculous for worrying about my pup. When we rescued him, he was flea-ridden, emaciated, and had a horrible case of kennel-cough - all of which were cured by Dr. Jones! Prices are reasonable, and they offer evening appointments - a plus if you work full-time! more

Caring and Sweet 6/22/2011

Dr Jones is awesome. She is caring and sweet and very good with any kind of dog, as I took our friends bulldog in once. PB loves coming there and I enjoy taking her. more

My regular from now on 6/21/2011

I went to Mt Airy for a consutation after my regular vet at Hickory Animal Hospital advised they would charge between $1,000-$2,000 for teeth cleaning! At Mt. Airy, Dr. Lauderdale examined my dog's teeth (11 y/o Jack Russell Terrier) and advised with lab work and possible extractions it would be around $325 to $400. She was very caring about my concerns about anesthesia. She took blood for the lab work and we got him scheduled. He did very well. He needed two teeth extracted and took an antibiotic afterwards. His teeth looked great and I thought this was extremely affordable. Also, even though I had recently been to Hickory, they neglected to give him l of his annual shots, so she caught him up with that as well. Overall, a great experience and she will be my regular vet from now on! more

caring professionals 6/6/2011

I have a 6 year old rescue cat named bear. He had a chronic illness that hit roughly every 6 months since he was two. I took him to several pet hospitals, and trauma centers could not diagnose. Over 2 years, he came very close to dying 3 times, requiring blood transfusions and drug regimens. Many tests and no answers. I remembers Mt. Airy Animal Hospital, my familys vet when i was growing up, and the same vet my sister uses for her dog. So i took him in to Mt. Airy, and saw Doctor Wilkerson. he listened to my cat's history, looked at the previous test results, ran a couple more and suggested a different diagnosis. He tried the new drugs and they worked. My cat bounced back immediately/ Turns out my cat had a chronic illness and he figured it out. He and the techs were were bright, caring professionals. My pets will always go here. more

Dr. Wilkerson and his staff did an amazing job 6/2/2011

Dr. Wilkerson and his staff did an amazing job bringing new life into my cat. He needed major dental surgery so that he could eat again. Dr. Wilkerson and his team performed the surgery safely and skillfully. They also made sure the he was stabilized during the post-op period and made sure that I knew how to care for him once he came home. I highly recommend Dr. Wilkerson and Mount Airy Animal Hospital. more

i took my kitten to a previous vet twice and paid for treatment but my kitten continued to sneeze day and night. i decided to get a second opinion and took my kitten to Dr jones of the mt airy vet hospital. She was fabulous, it is so nice to know that there are Doctors out there obsessed with keeping their cat healthy and that is exactly what dr jones did. she was able to diagnose and treat my kitten with medicine and with in a day or 2 my kittens sneezing reduce 50%. more

I highly recommend this practice! 5/26/2011

From the minute you walk into Mt Airy Animal Hospital you feel the energy and professionalism. You are treated as a client and your pet as a special patient. I was amazed at how well my labrador has taken to all the members of the Mt Airy staff! The vet techs crouch down to let her slobber on their faces and all the doctors treat her with respect and care. We have used Dr Wilkerson for years and my kids adore talking to him. He even made time out to come to my son's school and speak to the science class. I highly recommend this practice! more

We love Dr. Jones 5/25/2011

Mt Airy animal hospital is a compassionate, competant place to take your pets. They are busy and you often have to wait, which is a downside, but worth the wait. Staff answers questions if you have them and truly care about animals. We love Dr. Jones, she has an excellent bed side manner and 2 pit bulls and lots of cats. She will guide you though controversies with shots and not make your pet get the optional ones if you don't want to. more

were so kind and caring 5/24/2011

The staff helped me carry her into the hospital. She was humanely euthanized at the Mt Airy Animal Hospital, and they were so kind and caring towards me and my dog. They even sent me a very nice sympathy card. I would highly recommend them. more

staff is very friendly and helpful 5/18/2011

I have been taking my cats and my dog to Mt Airy Animal Hospital for at least 6 years. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I can always call to ask a question about the care of my animals.Dr Lauderdale treated my dog Brandy for an ear infection that another vet could never clear up. She was able to get the infection under control right away. She is an excellent vet.I feel confident boarding my animals there also. more
