First time I've ever had to call a plumber so I didn't really know what to expect. I had a pipe leaking in the wall, I needed someone at my house fairly quickly and Mr. Rooter said they could have a tech here within an hour. About 30-40 minutes later the plumber arrived, looked at the situation and gave me an upfront estimate of what the job entailed and most importantly- price. The price seemed to be reasonable (not really sure what going rates are, but it wasn't outrageous by any means considering the work that was involved). He opened the wall, replaced the leaking pipe and was careful not to make a mess even though there was already a mess from the already ruined sheet rock. I could tell he took his job very seriously. I'm happy with the service I received. more

I had a nightmare weekend when my sewer backed up into my bath tubs, sinks and toilets. I called a family friend to help with the problem but unfortunately I think he only made things worse. I called Mr. Rooter Plumbing, I was happy to hear that they have the same rates no matter if it's a week day or weekend. A technician came and assessed the situation, told me that my main line from the house to the septic was broken and showed me the sink hole in my yard where the break was (I can't believe I didn't notice that!). They gave me an upfront estimate and I gave them the green light. They came back later that SAME DAY to dig up that section of pipe and replace it and when they were done everything flowed smoothly. They were fast, efficient and very friendly. I appreciate their hard work! more

From beginning to end I found this experience to be an overall very positive one. They have really nice vans, the plumbers are dressed professionally and are very friendly, they are very knowledgeable and their prices seemed reasonable, I got more than one quote. They replaced my gas water heater, downstairs sink trap and the "guts" of my toilet. The tech kept my house clean, did a great job and everything works fine now! Very glad I chose them to do the job. more

They are actually professional plumbers unlike most of the hacks you see in the capital region, and they are backed up by corporate so you know they aren't fly-by-night plumbers! I've used them on two different occasions and was very happy with the service I received. more

After calling another plumbing company which I will not name, I had to hire someone else to fix the problem so I called Mr. Rooter. Upon inspection, they immediately knew what the issue was. They gave me an estimate to start, I signed off and he got right to work. The job wasn't easy (my pipes are all back pitched and old galvanized) but he did a good job and got everything cleared. I should have called Mr. Rooter first to save me the trouble! more

His whole family works together to screw people out of their hard earned money. Rob, Karen, Jessica are all related that is for sure. Really a shame that he is allowed to do business. Con artists!!! 1/8/2013

Matt Ward is running an illegal operation as the head of the Waterford Mr. Rooter. He is a total scam artist who will take a fat deposit, lie about getting permits, but he will bill you for them. I won a lawsuit against this franchise and his scam artist secretary Karen keeps giving me the run around and pretending not to know who anyone is or what a judgement is. They ignore corporate and owe lots of people money. Never call them, never let them set foot on your property, because if they do they will litter their fast food containers on your lawn. more

Great Service 11/5/2012

I hate spending money on plumbing but it was time that I got a new hot water tank. I replaced the elements in it about a hundred times plus I have hard water. The valve was pretty shot too and the tank was rusting out the bottom. What sold me was that this company could do it all in the same day, only took them about an hour to do. I'd use these guys again if I had to. more

I love this company, I've had Mr. Rooter do various work for me at my old home in MA so I was happy to find out that there was a Mr. Rooter near by when I moved to the Cap region. I needed a new toilet and a few old lines replaced and was glad I received the same great service from Mr. Rooter as I did back in MA. I trust doing business with a franchise over an ""unknown"" company, but that's just how I feel. more

the plumber mr. rooter sent out to install my new toilet was very polite and did a good job, i'm glad my husband didn't try to tackle this on his own because the flange(?) was broken and wouldn't have been as simple for us to do ourselves. more

I've used Mr. Rooter on two occasions and had a good experience both times. First time was for a new sump pump after we got a ton of rain from Irene, the most recent was to get my septic pumped before winter. Their staff always takes good care of me. more

Contracted Mr. Rooter to replace old, leaky cast iron pipes in my basement. They were very courteous and did a clean, professional job. Would recommend! more

Don't let them cheat you out of $2000. 8/20/2012

Mr. Rooter aka Matthew Ward installed a $200 sewer pump and sold it to me as a $1700 grinder pump. They left my wife and children without water for several days because it repeatedly failed. Only after I discovered their negligence through my own research did they acknowledge the error which Ward would fix for another $2000. Their business manager lied to me repeatedly about sending a refund which I haven't received. Liars and cheats... Please check the BBB complaints before having this company over to your house. I wish I had. There are so many similar complaints of ripping people off by overcharging! They charged double the going price for the work at my home and I had to call their corporate office to get them to come out and fix a leak resulting from their work. Even then it took days to get them to come out. They refuse to give me an itemized bill and even the amount they say they needed to refund me was never given back to me. They are crooks!!! The corporate Mr. Rooter is having all kinds of problems with them as well. Please stay far away from them! more

A little different 7/20/2012

They do work like any other reputable plumbing in the area, but what sets them apart is they use shoe covers and check the rest of your plumbing to make sure everything is in good working order for no charge. I've never had a plumber do that, pretty nice. more

Long time customer 7/17/2012

From start to finish working with Mr. Rooter has always been a breeze. I've used them (the franchise in MA as well) for about 10 years now. My latest was a problem with my sump pump, it would make a god awful noise and I'd have to giggle it around to get it to work. I have an old dingy basement and I HATE having to go down there. Mr. Rooter came out with a Zohler (SP?) sump pump and replaced my old one. I no longer have to constantly check to make sure it's working, considering I have a very wet basement. I am also an Advantage Plan member so I get a discount. more
