Hey britneykushner, I'm sorry that you had such a bad experience...we usually get raving reviews...why don't you come in and maybe we can work out something for you to make up for your bad experience with us. However, I we do not use Chinese parts AT ALL! We are 100 percent against it, all of our parts come directly from well known reputable manufacturers. In fact, we have the smallest profit margin in the business, we try to give our customers as much bang for their buck as possible. The fees you are mentioning are probably labor fees but since you do not know much about bikes and repairs you probably didn't understand the break down of your bill. more

i took my Vespa scooter after reading the good reviews, the girl on the phone told me not to worry and also promised me that my scooter would be fix properly. first of all , they used aftermarket chinese parts and they charged my insurance co for original parts. they also charge me over 640$ in fees, i asked the owner Alex and he said "" dont worry about it : the insurance co takes care of that "" oh yeah ? now i have a chinese Vespa , what a nightmare ! girls beware of this shop. DO NOT GO !!!!!!! more

I stumbled upon this shop when I was in need of an oil change and back tire replacement, and recently went back when my shifter fell off. I can't say enough good things about this shop! I used to take my bike to a shop on Melrose but after spending a lot of money and never feeling like they cared about my bike or my schedule, I accidentally found Motorcycle Performance. Every time I get my bike back from their shop, they do whatever I asked them to do and then some. Like taping up my falling blinker without me asking. And my bike purrs beautifully after their work. Alex and his crew run a totally legit place. Fast and friendly, no BS. I have an older bike, '75 Honda cb550, and while they don't specialize in older bikes, they did everything they could to get it running. Totally professional, friendly, and affordable. They treated me and my bike with total respect. Definitely the place you should take you bike. more

I've used Alex @ Motorcycle performance since I bought my 2002 Honda Reflex scooter. He's always been fair and decently priced as well as knowledgable. \r \r If you're looking for a good mechanic that's not going to jerk you around and do a recommend a bunch of things that you don't need, then give Alex a call. A reliable motorcycle mechanic is a very difficult thing to find. Car shops have no idea what to do with a bike, and most of the limited number of bike shops are AWFUL. I've had terrible experiences with the various Honda dealers around town (I have a CBR 929, and have had other Honda bikes before)---wrong parts ordered or repaired; take weeks or months to get the job done, etc. I've never had a single problem here, and now it's the only place I will ever take my bike again. They've done major services for me, repaired crash damage, and also bailed me out a few times when I've gotten a flat on my morning commute. Alex is the only guy in town I trust to work on my bike. I concur that Alex and his crew are skilled m/c enthusiasts. I'm a daily commuter and they have saved me at 9 in the morning and 6 in the afternoon more than a few times. They always have a mix of clean sport and dirt bikes in the shop and can do anything from routine mx to complete tear down. I feel like I'm getting a bargain when I come away from Motorcycle Performance Service which is more than I can say for most places that have worked on my bike in the past. Highly recommended. Alex's shop is knowledgeable, fast and efficient. The storefreont, cluttered with parts and gear, isn't glamorous, but it isn't meant to be. These people fix bikes; it ain't a showroom. I'm one of those riders who has limited maintenance skills. Let's face it, if I could do it mtself, I would. But this makes finding a mechanic with dcent rates and good, quick service all the more important. Motorcycle Performance is just that. No, the prices aren't any lower than most, but then, they seldom are anywhere. When it comes to motorcycle repair, you pay for the expertise, and this place has it. No frills, no glitz, just honest, solid service at fair prices. I highly recommend this shop to my fellow all-thumbs bike enthusiasts.
