my favorite 6/9/2008

this is my favorite restaurant. when ever im home, i cant wait to eat there. im the type of person that when i travel, its all about the food...and this is as traditional as it comes. my first experience was with my family, its a very friendly and family type of atmosphere, but i noticed the waiter talking to the cook...he only spoke italian! good sign, plus, it felt like i was in my grandfathers kitchen. it only got better from there. the food was fantastic. the chicken marsala is my fav, but the lobster ravioli, uh, need i say more?!? Great Italian Food and Service. 10/3/2007

I go to Mother Anna's several times a year. Food is excellent, IF you go with a bunch of people call ahead you can order family style. We had Chick Parm, eggplant, soups, antipasto........\r The service is excellent. The wait staffs timing is perfect. They come over and check on you at the right time. I highly recommed this great italian food. more

Great Customer Service 7/31/2007

My husband and I decided to eat at Mother Anna's after a couple of ladies recommended it to us as we were looking around for a place to have dinner. We found a few places that we liked but decided on Mother Anna's because of the recommendation and the outside sitting area. We were promptly seated and our server was attentive enough. The dressing that came highly recommended from our server was a disappointment. I was upset when I found an insect in the salad that was still alive. I kept my cool. I turned down an offer of another salad. ?! My husband had the lobster dish and I had baked ziti. He liked what he ordered. What I ordered was ok but I was not impressed with the sauce. I expected better. We had eaten at Bertucci's the night before and that was better. How sad! I recommend Al Dente any day over this place. Pros: Nice Location and Good Service Cons: No substitutions and food is just ok. There are better places for comparable prices. more

Great Food, Nice ambience 7/9/2007

We went out on Saturday night, ready to deal with long wait listst for seating. We had a great experience with Mother Anna's. They were able to seat us inside right away (though it wasn't the most optimal table) and the service was very attentive. The meals were delicious (really really hot though!) The Chicken Broccoli was SO YUMMY and the lasagna was great once it cooled down. The area is fantastic (obviously, its Little Italy) and I really recommend the half carafe of sangria. Enjoy! Pros: Nice Food, Great Location more

Romantic and Inexpensive 2/8/2007

This is a local favorite of mine. It is fairly priced and very good quality meals. The atmosphere is very relaxed and intimate. I'm taking my girlfriend for Valentine's Day! It's also relatively easy to get into while many other restaurants in the area are tough during busy times like weekends and holidays. \r \r Pros: Service and Quality Cons: Parking and an unoriginal menu more

nothing special 10/27/2006

Perhaps the place is better at dinner time (we had lunch there) but the food was neither good\r nor bad. Just average. more

Italian at home. 8/3/2002

You'll feel very comfortable at this North End spot. The food is very traditional, so you know what you are getting, but it is very good. I would recommend this place if you are craving a traditional Italian meal, such as Chicken Parm or something along those lines. They do have a good Lobster ravioli and everything is very moderately priced. Pros: inexpensive, tasty Cons: not creative menu more
