We live locally and this is our favorite spot to eat. Dinner-for our date nights and lunch on the veranda with the family. The owners are great and the staff too. The menu has a great variety of California-like cuisine options and each dish has special ingredients to freshen up each dish. Like Beet salad w/ goat cheese or chicken salad sandwich with Mediterranean style spices. Their menu is about 80% gluten free too! This is a great location for special events, even though that's not what they normally do, as it is quaint, classy and intimate. more

It's okay 8/11/2006

The food was okay, not the best. This place is considered a fine dining place in Mendoncino but the food was so-so. I had the cioppino but the stew tasted like tomato broth with lots of white wine and the seafood was overcooked, shrimp and fish were dry and tough. My husband had the pork schnitzel but the pork came out burnt. Service was a bit slow due to their understaff; our table was ready but still had to wait another 10 min for the hostess to seat us. Pros: cozy ambience Cons: so-so food, slow service more

Excellent food and great service! 10/25/2005

My husband and I visited this restaurant with family over 2 years ago and swore we would never go back. Upon being informed that it had changed management and was much less snooty than before, we tried again last weekend. It was a lovely dinner. Our server was knowledgeable and personable, the food was fanTASTic - best cioppino I've ever had - the atmosphere was much improved after a recent remodel. We will go back. more

Best meatloaf since Mom's 8/3/2005

This place is majorly cramped, but they compensate well with the most comfortable & approachable menu selections in Mendocino Village. Just watch for a slow night and have a tasty meal at an acceptable price more
