AVOID THESE THIEVES 2/12/2014

I had Moo's Machine Works work on a small job. They did not complete the job as instructed when I first came to pick up, so the man took the pieces back and said he would do it again. When I came to pick up again, they insisted on charging again to fix the work that they didn't do the first time. \r \r Very poor customer service. I am contesting the charges on my credit card and contacting the Better Business Bureau. more

Good place for stainless fabrication 1/9/2013

My experience with Moo's Machine Works was good. I had a marine engine standpipe (muffler) and sailboat chainplates fabricated there. The standpipe was completed within 2 days (after it had sat at a competitors shop for more than a week) and the chainplates were done within 24 hours. The charges for all projects were exactly as quoted. All in all I'm happy with the service and the turnaround time. more

Terrible workmanship, insane prices, zero customer support. 10/19/2011

My experience with Moo's Machine shop is extremely bad. I had a tool made for pressing out the wrist pins from lycoming cylinders. I could have made the tool myself but decided to have Moo's do it. I estimated it would take me about two hours and at Moo's rate of $125/hr I was a better use of my time. The tool I picked up was incredibly inferior in workmanship and the bill was for 5 hours. The total with materials came to $794.00. The owner protested that it took him so much time because he had to "design" the tool. He finally admitted that he had "the boy", an apprentice I assume, make the tool. \r I've had several fellow mechanics tell me since that they had similar experiences with MOO. Fortunately, there are other machine shops in Honolulu that do good work and don't charge outlandish prices. more

Find somewhere else if you need quality machine work done 10/18/2011

My experience with Moo's was very bad. The price charged vs the workmanship received was atrocious. My 11 year old son could have manufactured a similar quality tool with a band blindfolded with one hand. When confronted with his shoddy workmanship Mr. Moo was unrepentant and rude. He unwittingly admitted that he had "the boy" an apprentice, make the tool. He charged me $794.00 for something my fellow mechanics universally agree should have cost no more than $250. Shame on you, Mr Moo. more

My experience with Moo's is a very negative one. Sent a pair of Weber 44IDF's to be rebushed. Recieved a call saying the carburetors were ready for pickup. My wife was dispatched to\r pick them up and pay the bill. \r On arriving back at the shop, I inspected the work that had been done for $544.50.First thing I saw was the mangled screws that held the butterflys in place. Second were missing\r washers that seal the bearings. third was the incorrect position of the butterflies leaving the progression holes exposed. fourth the bushings installed are so tight that they will need to be broken in by hand. \r If I, and not my wife had picked the carburetors up, there would have been no payment made, and more than likely some legal problems.\r I feel that the workmanship was unprofessional and the cost\r extremely high for the low quality work that was done. more
