Best

This is probably the best buffet in San Francisco. The food is fresh, hot and yummy. This is always a good place whenever you're very hungry or if you want to celebrate. They hold...

Worst

The food is ok here. Average for a buffet. They do have dimsum which is a plus. Pros: all you can eat Cons: parking

Moonstar 5/25/2006

For one price, you could theoretically eat more seafood here than at any time in your life. Moonstar is an Asian buffet, and for a buffet, the food is great, which means that for food, it's passable. But oh boy, if what you want is seafood in quantity, they've got all sorts of dishes to satisfy. Generally, I'd suggest going to a good restaurant instead and spending the same amount of money to get full on individually prepared meals, but maybe you want to eat twice as much as I would, so buffet away... more

Lots of Food 8/17/2005

Moonstar Seafood Buffet offers a lot of different food choices (as a buffet should). They serve dim sum, classic Chinese dishes, sushi, seafood, and a whole lot more. They have dishes that will appeal to anyone who likes Asian foods. Their desserts aren't bad either. They serve some Asian desserts like almond jello and cookies, but they also have a little ice cream bar for those who want American sweets. It's better to go on weekdays because that's when prices are cheaper. On weekends and holidays, you can expect to pay $20 per person. more

Moonstar Buffet 8/16/2005

This buffet restaurant features a wide variety of food from barbecued meat to sushi. It's main feature is it's wide selection of seafood; shrimp, lobster, crab legs, clam, oysters, and much more. If you are a fan of seafood, this is the buffet restaurant for you. It is a bit expensive, but you can eat all you want to make up for that. The food is decent, and they have a special promotion where if it's your birthday, you receive free lunch or dinner, birthday cake, and photo (with photo ID and a party of 6 or more). more

good, but could be better 8/11/2005

Moonstar is located at an unsafe neighborhood. If others had not told me about this place, I would probably never go there. However, this is a good place to hold parties. I've been to quite a few birthday gatherings there, I also had a party there for myself. Food is ok, very typical of what you would get at an Asian buffet. It is also pricey, even for this type of restaurant, but I guess if you can eat enough, you can make up for it. more

Lots of food 8/9/2005

This is probably the best buffet in San Francisco. The food is fresh, hot and yummy. This is always a good place whenever you're very hungry or if you want to celebrate. They hold many parties and have occasional live music. Although the prices are on the high side, and the wait is very long on special holidays, the food makes up for it. Parking is also available. more

Moonstar Buffet 8/9/2005

It is located in Downtown San Francisco on Market Street and has accessible parking in their lot. There are lots of food options at the Moonstar Buffet but not all of the food is great. The place is pretty big and decorative but the restaurant is in a pretty bad neighborhood so definitely go in big groups! Considering it's a buffet, it is pretty cheap to eat too! more

great buffet 8/6/2005

I love going this buffet place all the time because the price is relatively cheap campare to other asian buffet in bay area. They have variety of asian food such as sushi, dim sim, crabs, fried rice, fried needles, etc. The thing I like about it is that they offer free meal for birthday person. I went there on my birthday so I get free meal. However, they required you to bring at least 6 guests in order to get you a free meal. Luckily, I got 10 friends on that day so I get the meal free. Hence, be prepare to get your friends ready. They also have good ice-cream there and it taste so good for the green tea one. I would recommend this for family dinner or a group of friends such as high school union. more

Not the best... 8/6/2005

This place is a good place if you are eating for quantity, not quality. THis price is a lot, so you will expect alot, but the food is not so hot. The main dishes are always in abundance,. because not many people take them. Sometimes the food is dry, but no one complains, i dont know why. Desert is the best part of the whole restaurant. Unless you are stuck in this neiborhood, i do not suggeset this buffet. more

Buffet 8/4/2005

Moonstar is located in a pretty unsafe neighborhood. I do not recommend any one going there at night. The food is not the best, but you have a lot of food to choose from. It is an all you can eat restaurant. This place serves mainly chinese style dishes. You will see lobsters, chow mein, chow fun, soups, greens, and a dessert bar. However, on your birthday, you get to eat free! more
