We had a 5 Star experience at the Moondance. The home itself is lovely, impeccably clean, and beautifully appointed. The guest rooms are equally attractive, and we all got a great night's sleep. Our hosts were perfectly charming, and Mike, in addition to holding a wealth of information about the history of the home, is a fantastic cook! They catered to our every need, and made us feel like royalty. We'll be back! more

Recently the management team of our company had it's annual business planning retreat at the Moondance Inn. The facilities were excellent. We had 5 people stay in the main house and 2 others stayed at the guest house. Everyone enjoyed the accomodations and the food was great. During our 2 day stay we were served breakfast and lunch. The staff also provided pastries during the morning break and cookies and snacks during the afternoon. As a company we have tried several other sites to have this retreat but until now did not that was able to meet all our requirements. When we plan our next retreat we will be staying at the Moondance again. more

My wife and I wanted a quick get-away and decided on Red Wing. Mike at Moondance convinced me he could accommodate a vegan diet and he really came through. Our room was great, the whirlpool excellent, and an uncommon touch for a classic B&B was a large t\r TV tucked away in the huge attic great room hat allowed us to keep up with our favorite TV show.\r \r Mike recommended Memorial Park for a great view of Red Wing and the Barn Bluff and we were certainly not disappointed.\r \r Great value and a great time!. more

This is a beautiful place to stay--regal and inviting. We were greeted by a gracious host and made to feel at home right away. There was an elegance and cleanliness to everything. I felt at home and that's not always an easy thing to accomplish. Our room was comfortable, inviting and warm with the beautiful jacuzzi and extremely comfortable bed. The breakfast and coffee was excellent--served with graciousness and consideration for our vegetarian palates. Overall, would highly recommend this B&B and plan to return. more

Our stay at the Moondance far exceeded our expectations. Upon our arrival, we were greeted by a young lady who gave us a tour. We enjoyed the original detail still part of the home. We stayed in the King's Room, which has masculine decor, rustic furniture, and a Renaissance feel. Much of the home was open for everyone; porch/yards, the parlor/living room, and a rec room at the top of the house. Books, DVDs, and CDs were available, and in our room was a CD player for music. We enjoyed our gourmet breakfast the next morning. Mike helped us get discounted tickets for the eagle-watching cruise, where we went after we left the Moondance. As we were leaving, we were enchanted by the fascinating dogs who call the Moondance home. Each year we look for a romantic bed & breakfast stay with plenty of pampering. This place had all the above! The Moondance is at the top of the list of memorable bed & breakfasts, and we have visited many. more

We were in town for a graduation and wanted something a little more romantic and quiet than your standard hotel. We got everything we could have imagined and more. I have celiac and they were so thoughtful and made certain to have gluten free items for me. Our room was beautiful/romantic and we can't wait to stay again. more

My husband and I visited the Moondance Inn for our 1st Wedding Anniversary. We were in heaven the moment we walked in the front doors! Each room is decorated with such elegance and beauty - from one room to the next each is even more beautiful than the last. The breakfasts are so delicious words can not do them justice. Mike is so nice and well informed about the origination of the home. When he tells of the rich history of this home the house just comes alive. Our 2 night stay at the Moondance Inn was so wonderful. We both felt at peace and so relaxed from our stay that it was hard to come back home to the ""real world"". Life would be grand if we could reserve a weekend every month at this exquisite Inn!!! Thank you, Mike, for such a memorable weekend stay. Also, for sharing your dog, Trouble, with us. Trouble made a great impression on us as well. more

We stayed at the Moondance Inn for my husband's birthday. We really enjoyed our stay. The room was lovely and very clean. Our host Mike was very congenial, answering our many questions about their house, their Puli dogs, as well as giving us tips on good restaurants, and things to do in Red Wing. Offered garage storage for our bikes, too. Plus, he made a delicious breakfast for us on Sun. a.m. We also enjoyed the wine and cheese set out for us Sat. afternoon. Nice touch! We spent a lot of time on their comfy front porch visiting. The upstairs community room would be a super place for a family reunion, etc. Definitely check out this B&B for a wonderful place to stay in Red Wing! more

This is a lovingly preserved and beautiful house. The front porch is fabulous. Downtown with its several quaint shops and good restaurants is only a few blocks away, and in nice weather it is a pleasant stroll through a lovely old neighborhood fill with charming homes. If you're a cyclist, the Cannon River Trail ends/starts in Red Wing. It is quite scenic. more

On our visit to Red wing we stayed at two different B&B's both Victorian homes and décor. The Moondance Inn had more of a modem twist to it's décor and it's ambiance without leaving it's Victorian roots . This B&B has nice rooms. I noticed that they fill fast. We had the last room available. Would've like to have seen the other rooms. Owner was very accommodating. Very comfortable bed, nice tub in the room. I can not say the same for the other B&B we stayed at. The bed was ROCK HARD. Cd collection available for use in rooms. I do recommend this B&B while staying in the Red Wing area. more

My wife and I spent this past weekend at the Moondance for our 15th Anniversary. It was quiet and casual which is what we needed. Mike is a fantastic host, and is a full book of knowledge on the history of the Moondance. He was also able to serve gluten free ingredients which my diet required. Stand-up guy! more

We spent two nights to celebrate a birthday. Charming old house. Outstanding breakfasts (Mike takes care to honor special dietary requests). Lots to do in the area. We biked the Cannon Falls Trail, explored Red Wing and ventured to some neighboring cities for great dinners. It's a wonderful, relaxing place. more

This place rocks. If you're going to a B&B for beautiful surroundings (the ceiling lights alone are worth the visit), fabulous hot tubs (that really DO fit 2 people), comfy robes, yummy, yummy breakfast, and uber gracious hosts, you'll love this place. And during our stay, they even had little bottles of shampoo etc. Good grief. more

We so enjoyed our stay. It was the perfect place for group to feel at home while traveling. The bedrooms are unique and lovely, and the living space is warm.\r A very pleasant walk from the town center. The 7 of us enjoyed our stay thoroughly and look forward to staying again! Our contact with the owners was pleasant and they were very accommodating. more

We decided to try a B&B for our first time. We reserched alot of B&Bs online. We were looking for something more unique that had great accommodations than most B&Bs. After looking, We decided to book a room at Moondance Inn. It went beyond our expectations. The inkeeper was very nice and made us feel at home instantly. We stayed in the Gypsy room. It was very charming, with private bathroom and amazing two person whrilpool right in the room. The room had great detail. Good for romance or relaxation. The whole house is beautiful and appreciated. We were impressed with the breakfast served as well. We also liked how they serve complementary wine and appetizers early evening. Everything was great, We will definitely return again. more

The Moondance Inn is a wonderful B&B and we had a lovely stay here. Chris and Mike were wonderful hosts and offered a wealth of knowledge about the town of Red Wing and the surrounding area. They have tastefully decorated all of the rooms, not the lacey frilly stuff that we find tacky, but sophisticated and never overembellished. The breakfast was delicious and the coffee was the best that I had in the Midwest! We would definitely stay here when we visit Red Wing again. more
