The day before yesterday my 1996 Saab 900 burned up one of the wheels managing the serpentine belt. I limped the car home. I took another car to work and I called Moe at 8am and e...

Moe's... What's the point 5/28/2010

This is my first ever posted review of any business anywhere. I usually let things slide, but I cannot do that with Moe any longer. Bottom line: take your car somewhere else. I’ve taken my 9-3 to Moe since I bought it three years ago. The problem is that the majority of his attempted “fixes” didn’t actually fix anything. Overall, I think he’s 2 for 6 for getting it right. He’s tried to fix an ABS sensor, leaky tail lights, a radio, and a rear window first with wood block bracing then a window regulator. For two of these failed fixes he’s refused a refund, for one he gave a refund, for the other I’m sure there’s no point asking. After this last job failed (twice – first the bracing failed, then the regulator failed), Moe became irate when I asked for a refund, saying refund was not an option, he tried 3 times, he’s tired of wasting his time, etc. etc. All in, I’ve wasted at least $450 and hours of time dealing with Moe. Clearly I’m the one whose time’s been wasted. Like I said, go elsewhere. more

Moe's is the best 4/23/2010

I've been taking my Saabs to Moe for almost 15 years. I've never found a better price or more reliable service. He doesn't do work that's unnecessary (he'll tell you if a repair is needed, or if you can go a while), and the repairs are always fast too. He'll always stand behind his work as well. There are few others in the city who know Saabs as well as Moe, and he runs an honest, trustworthy business. He even helped me sell my last car with no strings. If you own a Saab, I highly recommend Moe. more

A genuinely helpful mechanic 1/2/2010

Moe was answering his phone on New Year's Day, and was quick to offer to fix my Saab the next day (a Saturday!). Not only did he know immediately what needed attention, but he talked me through the reasoning behind his diagnosis. As someone who knows a little bit about cars, it's refreshing to have a mechanic talk to you as if you are more than a complete idiot. His pricing seemed fair and reasonable, but what's more important to me is that he came across as honestly interested in helping me to get my car into good shape and keep it that way. If you're looking for reasonable and quality Saab service, I recommend that you check Moe out. more

Moe is honest and genuine 8/27/2009

Moe is a very unique mechanic. Although I don't have a Saab and have not had him work on my car, I can tell that his customers love him and think the world of the way he treats them. Let me explain: One morning, while we were meeting on a business matter, a customer came in early to pick up her car. She already had a plate of cookies in her hand when she walked in the door. She had made them special for him the night before. They talked about what he had found wrong with the car and had done to fix it. I was amazed when she exclaimed, "Wow, I was expecting the bill to be much higher!" Before leaving, she gave him a big hug and thanked him for all he does to take care of her car and not take advantage of her. So, I ask you... When was the last time you hugged YOUR mechanic? Go to Moe's Automotive. He works on more than Saabs... and did you know that he also has cars for sale? When Moe sells a car, he sends the buyer out with a warranty, because he knows that the car is right and won't be coming back with an unhappy customer. When was the last time you got a free warranty on a used car you bought? Hey, you may as well buy your car from the guy that knows it best, right? Moe's dealership name is Integrity Auto Sales. Not a big operation... just a great one! more

RE: No good 8/4/2009

I work at Moe's automotive. The earlier 900's are the only car that need vacuum lines disconnected for a trany rebuild. The price parts & labor for those cars is $1500, not &3000. In the later Saab's, for a trany rebuild or replacement, the price is higher, but there are no vacuum lines that are touched. It is really easy to make accusations online without Merritt, because no one is going to require proof that you have actually been to said business. There has never been a time that a customer has had a complaint and we weren't willing to work with them to resolve it. I'm sorry that you feel the way you do, we wish you the best of luck. more

No Good 5/3/2009

Don't waste your time and money. Moe ruined my Saab while trying to fix the transmission. They would often leave hoses disconnected, and never fixed the problem. However they did keep my $3000. Do yourself a favor and go to the dealer. more

Moe is a Saab Guru!! 6/25/2006

Moe knows Saabs!! He is fair and friendly and always looks at the car with the idea of good price and keeping it solid long term. He is the most honest car repair person I have ever dealt with. FYI... He also has a website now to find parts or just ask questions. it's surprise surprise... Moesautomotive.com..Keep up the great work Moe!! more

Moe is fantastic 12/16/2005

I first met Moe in 1996, when I had an old 900. I first went to Moe's because he had the most reasonable pricing around for an expert Saab mechanic. I haven't needed to take my car in so much in recent years because I have a newer model now, but I can say without a doubt go to Moe, and you'll be happy. He does superb work in a reasonable timeframe and for a very reasonable cost. He is honest and friendly too. I couldn't recommend him highly enough. That newer model isn't so new anymore, so I'll be going back to visit very soon I am sure. more

Moe knows saabs 8/11/2005

Do you have a saab? then you should know moe. I just bought a 22-yr old saab - perhaps this is foolish. Anyway, I asked around town and almost everyone said, "Go to Moe's". Then I called Moe and in the course of our brief conversation it was obvious that Moe knows saabs. intimately. and his prices are good (better, in fact, than what I already paid for comparable work with standard parts at a different repair shop- meaning that moe charges less for his labor.) Please stay in business, moe - at least as long as we have our old 900. more

Moe's is great 7/30/2005

I second the Moe's recommendation. Very reliable, great with Saabs, and honest. Did lots of repair on our old Saab. more

Honest & Fantastic Saab professional... 7/30/2005

If you are in need of a good Saab mechanic, I would like to refer you to a good and honest man named Moe. He is the owner of Moe's automotive located in Ballard. He's honest, friendly, has lots of experience with Saab's and very knowledgeable in what he does. He deals only with Saab cars, and has been doing it for many years. He's awesome. more
