Modern Famliy Vision

I went in to purchase a pair of glasses. Since I did not have insurance to cover glasses I was told that I would get a private pay discount of around 30% off. To my surprise I discovered that my 1 pair purchase after discount was going to be over $700.00! I also overheard another customer who did have insurance pay $800.00 for 1 pair in addition to them filing on his insurance. I had them write down all of the frame and lens info and went shopping to find 2 other locations in Allen that were anywhere from $250.00 to $375.00 less expensive than Modern Family Vision for the exact same products. Rip Offs!! more

I brought my 3 year old daughter there for an exam first of all I wanted OVER an hour for my appointment. 2nd the doctor told the “assistant” that my daughter HAD to be dilated she said she couldn’t do an exam without dilation I have had eye exams my whole life and no one has ever told me I had to be dilated to have an exam. I did agree to the dilation when I FINALLY saw this “doctor” she told me my child needed glasses and that her prescription was so strong that she would only give her half and then I needed to bring her back in 6 weeks. By the way after over 24 hours my daughter’s eyes were STILL dilated. This seemed like a way to get another exam fee to me. I refused to get glasses their after this strange eye exam so I went to target when my daughter got her glasses they were VERY thick and she said they hurt her eyes. I didn’t make her wear them instead I took her for ANOTHER eye exam I had to pay this one out of pocket since I had used my insurance anyway the other doctor said my daughters eyes were ok and she didn’t need glasses. This doctor is a scam and only wants to make money at the expense of a young childs eyes. Are you kidding me. more

I recently moved here from Georgia and I was looking for a new eye doctor since I wear contact lenses. I searched the internet and found Modern family vision they had a lot of good reviews so I decided to go. I called to make an appointment they asked for my medical insurance I thought that was odd but ok anyway when I went there everything was great. The staff was great and I loved Dr. Castro. They suggested one day contacts I asked the cost so the doctor brought in the office manager Kim and she explained the cost. She offered an instant rebate and a mail in rebate and even a 100.00 discount off glasses. WOW that’s great since the glasses I have are over 8 years old I had never considered dailies but since I was going to get all these benefits I gave it a try. I love them. They are easy to use and very comfortable. At first I was a little turned off by the phone call but after I went in everything was perfect. more

I have never had prescription sunglasses before but I went to the store with a prescription I got somewhere else and picked out regular glasses the guy there suggested sunglasses I told him I couldn’t afford it but he gave me a vision plan discount option and a PAYMENT PLAN that I could use so I agreed. I just picked them up and I could not be happier. I don’t remember the guys name but he was very helpful and I would like to say thanks. more

I always take my two children to modern family vision and recently I have went thru some bad times. My mother died and my husband was in a very bad motorcycle accident. I called the office to see about my oldest daughters contact lens exam I wanted to know how much it was going to be. Kim the office manager got on the phone and went over fees she offered me a discount off the exam as well as the contacts themselves. That was good enough but then 2 days later when I came in for my appointment she gave me a condolence card with a gift card in it. She hugged me and gave me her cell in case I needed someone to talk to. I have had no one to turn to during all that I have been going thru and then an almost stranger reaches out to me like this. I am touched that there are still nice people in the world. more

It seemed like I was going to a really great "Family Vision Clinic" re the staff and doctors. I have been going to Modern Valley Vision for over 10 yrs. now and they always treat me like family! I actually look forward to going to the doctor! Can you believe that? more

I went to Modern Family Vision a couple of days ago when I woke up with a painful red eye. I called Modern Family Vision where I have gotten my eye exam before. They told me come in right away and that Dr. Castro would work me in. They also told me that the visit would be covered by my medical insurance and I only had to pay my copay. Dr. Castro checked my eye and told me I had an eye infection. She explained things where I could understand and gave me a sample of antibiotic. After 2 days on the antibiotic, my eye looks and feels much better! more

My wife's eye was scratchy and we decided to walk in so that a doctor could take a look. Dr Castro and the staff were very friendly, helpful and down to earth. Didn't feel like just another customer passing through. Everything was explained in plain and clear English. Within hours my wife's eye was feeling much better. more

My son recently had to get glasses and we chose Modern Family Vision right here in Allen. The Dr was wonderful with my son and us, explained in great detail that we could understand and was very thorough with her exam. They offer a special for children for the eye testing and their prices on glasses are very good. I felt as though we where in good hands more

I was very unhappy with my previous eye doctor and I decided to give Modern Family Vision a try. I am so glad I did. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The lobby and exam rooms are modern and relaxing. I can't say enough about Dr. Castro. She explained everything to me in detail and in a way that I can understand. I felt very comfortable with her and she listened to the problems that I have been having with my current prescriptions. I have been seeing eye doctors since childhood and I am so happy to find an eye doctor I like. I was diagnosed with a nasty eye allergy so I was unable to get a prescription for glasses and contacts today but I can't wait to go back next week and pick out my glasses and get my contacts. more

I just purchased a pair of glasses from Dr. Leazures office with the help of a great staff. I never knew this office carried Gucci and Versace frames which they told me they were brand new. My glasses came back in only two days. I now have great vision and at a great price. I would reccommend this office to all my firends and family. more

Recently I moved to Allen and I needed an eye exam. I found out this office was on my insurance but after reading the previous reviews was a bit nervous but decided to give them a try. I have to say that I was blown away. The Doctor was awesome and very helpful explaining all my needs along the way. The staff where friendly and also helped me choose a great frame. They have an awesome selection and I will continue to go back. I have been in retail all my life and I know that you never receive good feedback only bad so felt that I needed to make this comment as I LOVED Modern Family Vision. more
