We read the reviews and decided to try it out. It seems to be a family owned place as there was only one waiter. We were 4 and I was surprised to see 20% gratuatity added to the bill. Service was slow, food quality was average. Quantity was less than normal. It is a very congested restaurant. Even cocktail was not done properly. more

Designer Restaurant but needs to tweak the flavor 10/9/2010

My family and I just came back from eating out here tonight because we got so excited from the reviews, Im not sure what some of the people ordered, while a few items were tasty, its hard to really say its the best indian food in houston. Im Indian and I have been to almost every Indian/Paki restaurant in Houston. more

Best in town Indian Restaurant 9/20/2010

I am a big fan of this restaurant. I am Indian and therefore I consider myself a good critic about Indian food at least. Here are the reason why I like this restaurant: Staff was very polite, waited well, knowledgeable (in other restaurants, sometimes waiters have no clue what they are talking about) and tasty food. We weren't sure of something and asked a question about an order. The waiter answered it and thought we were not very happy for some reason. Later, the chef himself visits us and surprises us with fabulous desert for us at the end of the day. I am definitely frequenting this place. Ambiance ? really a good melting pot. Indian in taste and American in customer service. Check out the M Lounge upstairs too... its very impressive, DJ was pretty good ! (Hey, DJ, hope you play good lounge/house/techno/trance music as well) and not mostly rap. I am sure if they mix the kind of music and continue with the current level of quality and taste, they will do really well more

Fanatical Cult Status 8/23/2010

Despite being in a shopping center behind Super Target at Hwy. 6 & Southwest Frwy., this modern Indian restaurant has attained near-fanatical cult status, with some critics hailing it the best in Houston. What's all the fuss? Consider the starters of Chicken 65 or Chile Dynamite Paneer. For a main course, try either the Mango Chicken, Ribeye Steak, or Pork Vindaloo (Be warned--this is some of the spiciest Vindaloo curry you'll ever try. Not so daring, ask the chef to make you a mild version) But another of Mint Spice Bistro's surprises is the phenomenal wine list, on which you might find a vintage to cool your palate. more

Houston's Best Indian Restaurant 8/23/2010

We eat out frequently and consider ourselves to be quite demanding at times. Mint Spice Bistro exceeded our expectations... We were welcomed with a friendly greeting. The atmosphere is quite pleasant and the service was top notch. The staff could be better trained on some of the menu items. The chef did come to our table to make sure all our concerns were addressed. The food - WOW!!! The Best Indian food in Houston. A viewing window into the kitchen allows you to see them cook your food. We were very surprised to see such an incredible wine selection. Another interesting note - unheard of at most Indian restaurants - beef & pork are both on the menu. This is definitely a place to frequent. Loved it!!! more

Best Indian Food in Sugar Land 8/13/2010

It's about time this kind of restaurant came to Sugar Land, Indian food with class. The chicken 65, mogo and the lamb are a must. They also have a lounge right upstairs. more
