Gary/Garo of Mike's Shoe Repair (his dad is Mike) is the most lovely man. He is a person who truly loves shoes, the art of them, the construction, the detail...everything. He is a pleasure to chat with and the work he does is excellent. I don't think he is overly expensive but I also don't think he is a bargain. With that said, he always gives you little extras when you bring something in. He'll be the first to tell you if you shouldn't do something so you can save your money, but he'll also surely tell you when you are mistreating a pair of shoes.
Pros: excellent service, supporting a good person, fantastic work
Cons: wish it was a tiny bit cheaper, but makes up with lil favors
