Best

We had our basement waterproofed by Mid-Atlantic in January of 2011. At first I was a little skeptical, but after all the noise and dirt our basement is finally dry. We endured ...

Worst

I heard on their WCBS radio ad that they are offering a free sump pump for using their service. If their water proofing service works, why would I want or need a sump pump?!?

We received our waterproofing system in parts of our basement and garage in November of 2011. The salesman who visited was professional, and offered every piece of information on the process that we would need to arrive at the best decision in comparing companies. We easily chose MidAtlantic. When the work began prior to Thanksgiving, we were impressed with the friendliness and care that the workers took with our possessions. They did an excellent job and we were kept updated on their progress through the whole process.\r Unfortunately, or fortunately, we never had enough rain, snow, or water to ever know for sure if the systems were working. It wasn't until Hurricane Sandy came through during the fall of 2012 that we realized water was finally coming into our house in the basement.\r They system and water pumps worked perfectly and we never had any water inside our house. more

I had 18 years of my basement filling with water every time we got heavy rains. This happened because of wet lands and underground springs. After the storms in 2012 When I was up to my shins in water and having my Salon in the basement being destroyed by water , I decided to call several waterproofing company’s. Mid Atlantic spent the most time with me going over everything . Even checking for water in the walls as well.\r \r The warranty was great, The guys were there to do the job when they said they were going to be , they worked from 6:00am Until 8:pm .It took they said it would take them 3 days . It really did even though we had a hurricane come thru after day 2 and the pumps were working until the electric went off. With the help of a neighbor, the restoration guys and the Mid Atlantic crew of 3 men they managed to stop the toilet from overflowing ,get the electric and the sump pumps working and all the tools up out of the water ,including all the concrete the guys had carried down the day before to pour the finishing work. The next day they were there at 6:am to finish the job. Every day everything was cleaned up and removed. I have had dehumidifiers added which they hooked up, a pipe that needed moved and just recently settlement cracks repaired. There are always happy to come and come promptly. I still can’t get used to not having water in my basement every time it rains and not having to put everything up on shelves. more

Mid-Atlantic Waterproofing has waterproofed my basement on 5/5/10. This company stands by their installation 100%. Since the installation we have has 2 minor seepages and they were corrected immediately. Customer service was very efficient. Problem was corrected and no water in basement at all. We had two sump pumps installed and they are working fine. The company also installed a water line to the street at their expense. We would highly recommend Mid-Atlantic to anyone who has a water problem in their basement. Our contract with them was over the top compared with 3 other bids we had. Go with Mid-Atlantic, you won't be disappointed with their staff and workers. The job was completed in 3-4 days. more

We had MidAtlantic waterproofing installed over 3 years ago.........there have been several tropical storms and floods since. Other homes in our neighborhood had wet basements, but ours has been dry as a bone since MidAtlantic waterproofed our basement more

In August of 2011, we had Mid-Atlantic Waterproofing come to our house and implement a system which has kept our basement dry. The work was done quickly and professionally, our basement remains dry and water-proofed, and we are happy with the product and service we received.\r \r I would recommend Mid-Atlantic Waterproofing to anyone looking to do the same with their basement and I already have, telling anyone in our neighborhood about the quality of work we had done at our house. more

MidAtlantic did a terriffic job on my basement. The entire staff from the initial appointment to the end of the installation, treated me great and always had patience with the numerous questions I had. The best part is that MY BASEMENT IS DRY!!!! THEY EVEN GOT ME APPROVED FOR A 0% INTEREST LOAN!!! TtHANKS TO ALL THE MIDATLANTIC STAFF FOR HELPING ME. more

I had a great experience with Mid-Atlantic. The water in the basement was causing a lot of stress, not to mention damage to the stored items in the basement. The basement has endured several heavy rains since it was fixed , including the torrential rains we had on 9/18/2012. We have since finished off a portion of the basement for our kids to enjoy. Thanks to Mid-Atlantic for our dry basement. more

FINALLY A DRY BASEMENT!! 9/12/2011

We had our basement waterproofed by Mid-Atlantic in January of 2011. At first I was a little skeptical, but after all the noise and dirt our basement is finally dry. We endured two hurricanes (Irene and Lee) and not a drop of water. The pumps entertained our kids as they watched in amazement through the window the water shooting out of the pipes outside. tHANKS MIDATLANTIC FOR A JOB WELL DONE!!!! more

Bunch of LIARS 9/9/2011

One word says it all ... LIARS. Mid Atlantic Waterproofing says they guarantee a dry basement (walls and floor). Why else would someone spend that much money for their system and then finish the basement, knowing that if the system failed you were SOL? \r \r The recent flooding in central PA was the first time our system kicked in. Mid Atlantic has been in business since flood Agnes, so the system should be spec'd out sufficiently for that type of capacity. It wasn't, so now they tell me they're not liable for any damages caused by the lack of their system doing it's intended job.\r \r Seriously?!!!!! more

Only if you want the hard sell and expensive retrofit... 8/30/2011

This review specifically addresses the sales tactics and the proposal presented, not the quality of work as we declined to go with MidAtlantic. My mother got serious flood damage in her home after heavy rains. The salesman who came out for the ""free quote and explanation of your problem"" tried to sell my mother for TWO HOURS on a basement waterproofing system that was totally unsuitable to her house, which would have required her to tear out all her baseboard heaters and bathroom tiles so that they could install their system behind and underneath. The quote was $15,000 and my mother's answer was a firm no, which caused him to turn on his used-car tactics and bargain with her. This compared to another contractor (a mason) who came in, looked at the design of her house and land, and designed a solution that specifically worked for her house, for less than $5000! These ""one size fits all"" waterproofing systems are highly questionable and the hard sell isn't terribly attractive either. more

I just wanted to say that the crew that did my job were awesome. They were quick, neat & did a fantastic job. They also were very respectful, & answered all my questions & gave me some tips & advice. Sorry that I do not remember their names, since I'm at work. But you could probably find that out. more

YOUR PRICE IS VERY HIGH, AND VERY LITTLE TO SHOW FOR IT 10/18/2010

WHILE IT IS TRUE MID-ATLANTIC OF CPA HAS OVER 40 YEARS EXPERIENCE, THAT DOES NOT MEAN THEY ARE THE BEST SERVICE PROVIDER. HISTORY SHOWS US THAT TECHNOLGY CHANGES, AND PRICE CHANGES. THEY ALSO HAVE THEIR SUB CONTRACTORS GO THROUGH A VERY SMALL COURSE TO GET CERTIFIED TO BE MID-ATLANTIC INSTALLERS. \r BUT THE BOTTOM LINE IS THEY ARE SUB-CONTRACTORS. MID-ATLANTIC DOES HAVE A 24 HOUR RESPONSE FOR SERVICE CALLS TRUE. BUT THEY ARE BY FAR NOT THE ONLY COMPANY TO DO THIS IN THE YORK AREA. AND THE AMOUNT OFDAILY SERVICE CALLS THEY HAVE, THEY NEED THAT SERVICE.THEY DO NOT OFFER A LIFE-TIME SUMP PUMP WARRANTY EITHER. IF THEY DID, THEY WOULD MAKE HUGE PROFITS ON SUMP PUMP REPLACEMENT ON THEIR SYSTEMS. THE MONEY THEY GENERATE FROM THIS ALONE IS AMAZING. SO THEIR ADD IS RIDDLED WITH HALF TRUTH AT BEST. THEIR SALES TEAM IS SO AGGRESIVE THAT SEVERAL PEOPLE HAVE HAD TO THREATEN TO CALL THE POLICE TO GET THEM TO LEAVE. THIS IS NOT THE EXPERIENCE YOU WANT WHEN YOUR ALREADY UPSET THAT YOUR HOME IS BEING DESTROYED BY WATER. \r LOOKING FOR A TRUSTING, QUALITY WATERPROOFING CONTRACTOR IS A HARD JOB. LOOK AT CUSTOMER REVIEWS, WARRANTY ON THE SYSTEM, AND WHAT WARRANTY THEY HAVE ON THEIR SUMP PUMPS. MEET WITH THE COMPANY AND FEEL THEM OUT. YOU SHOULDN'T FEEL PUSHED TO FIX YOUR HOME. YOU SHOULD WANT A CONTRACTORTO BE THERE. GOOD LUCK ANDGOD BLESS. more

Hard Sell Tactics are inapropriate 4/12/2009

In addition to what Andrew2009 experienced, the sales rep Noel from MD delivered a very thinly veiled threat that the data collected during his inspection would be used against me if I sell the home and don't disclose what he had to say about my basement. He turned his interpretation of what he observed into expert facts. The water table in my locale is 175 feet deep. The hydrostatic pressure my foundation experiences during a heavy rain is not as high as Noel is claiming and the problem area in my home is only 2 feet below grade on a slope. \r \r Other vendors identified the cause of my moisture to a leaky chimney and pooly graded fromt garden.\r \r Noel claims that there is a 95% chance that all those who try to buy my home will have their mortgage offer recinded by the FHA because I will not have his Dry Basement Certificate.\r \r This is a horribly hard sell and totally inappropriate. Pros: Sales Rep was prompt and professional. Cons: The Sales Rep had only one solution in mind. more

Don't waste your time 1/26/2009

Mid Atlantic was one of four estimates we got to repair our leaky basement and two reps were at our house for 2.5 hours. During their inspection they pointed out all kinds of issues with our footer, foundation walls and floor. They told us that the next step was foundation and footer failure. The only way to avoid structural failure was to use their system which two hours into their inspection was not yet revealed. After pushing them to tell us their sollution it turns out that they use the same basic water diversion drain and sump pump as every other company out there but literally charge three to four times as much. It nearly took a verbal argument to get through to them that we were not prepaired to make a commitment on the spot. If we didn't commit we couldn't get their discounted price. We asked for literature and a written estimate before they left so we could make an informed decision between the four contractors. They could not provide us with anything! I had to write down their offer. It was as if nobody had ever said ""no"" to them. I feel sorry for those people. We are going with a smaller, local contractor with a good track record. We are getting basically the same system for a quarter of the price. The Mid Atlantic inspection is stressful, pushy and long; don't bother. more

Mid Atlantic Waterproofing 3/18/2008

In march 2008 I paid way too much money to have this company come to my home and put a system in my basement .It took them one day ,when we were told it wood take 3 or 4 .Of corse they said the price was the same no mater how long it took. Two days after this was installed it leaked. After a phone call that I had to raise my voice, the sent someone out in 5 days. The guy that showed up was retired , and helped from time to time. All this guy did was smeared more caulk over what they put down the first time. It will take us four years to pay for this system, and let me tell you I am not happy with this company and would not recomend it!!! more
