Mid City Automotive & Towing

My son's truck had a huge gash/dent on the side of his truck. We were able to work the owner and Tommy to fix the damage and the work was good and finished by the date promised. I am actually looking into them as my new local mechanic. Crossing my fingers that I won't need one at all, though. more

THIS BUSINESS IS A RIGHT OUT SCAMM. THEY SIT AROUND AND WIT FOR YOU TO PARK YOUR CARS SO THEY CAN MAKE THIER BUCKS.. PARKING SIGNS ARE NOT VISIABLE. THEY WORK WITH THE OWNERS OF THE LOTS AND GIVE THEM A PERCENTAGE OFF EVER VECHILE THAT THEY TOW. IF YOU TRY TO CONTACT THE OWNER HE WILL DISRESPECT BY CALLING YOU STUPID AND THEN HANG THE PHONE UP. I HAVE CONTACT THE NOPD TO ONLY FIND OUT THAT THEY ARE VERY TIRED OF CALLS COMING THE COMMUNITY REGARDING THEIR WITH THIS COMPANY.... These people are crooks. Like Don G. said, apparently they run a racket with the Burger King on City Park Avenue by Delgado. I parked in the lot for 10 minutes to go pick up a handicapped friend from school -- by the time I returned, my car had been towed. As a woman, I am EXTREMELY uncomfortable with the idea that my actions are watched while I'm in that parking lot. It cost me $140 IN CASH to get my car back, and the ""supervisor"" at the office was too interested in finishing up his lunch to do anything more than chew and grunt at me. I will be leaving a poor review of these crooks anywhere I possibly can. BEWARE!!! more

My family and I where in town visiting relatives and my sisters cars transmission goes out and we seen a tow truck and called the number and they said it would be 1-2 hour wait I said ok. So as we sat and waited we watched the truck still sitting at a deli style place and the guy came out and drove right by and then 30 minutes later here he came right back to the same place got out and went in. So I called the number and the guy was an ass and told me that they were behind and I said well I have watch one of your trucks leave and come back at this little store deli place and he said that I should mind my own f*****g business. So then I called the other guys in town and they should up in 10 min and we were on our way. Mid-city towing be put out of business!!!! Pros: null Cons: null more

These people prey on a few select parking lots and tow people. I parked my car in a lot on City Park Ave for 15 minutes. The lot, shared by Burger King and 4 or 5 other businesses, was EMPTY, because at 8pm, all but one business was closed. But that didn't stop the manager of BK from calling these crooks and having them nab my car. It cost me $177 ""CASH ONLY"" and made me late for work. No doubt the tow-truck driver drove back and split the cash with the manager of BK... I don't understand how these people can stay in business with all the complaints against them. These guys are AWESOME!!!!! I am all the way in Georgia and they helped us out tremendously!!! We had a customer that purchased a car from us and then went to New Orleans. When I found out where the car was, I called Tommy at Mid City and he had his driver out IMMEDIATELY!!! They are SO GOOD at what they do that they even took the car in broad daylight!! They provided EXCELLENT service for us and we are extremely happy!!! Thanks to Tommy and everyone who helped get our car safely back to us!!!! I would recommend these guys to everyone!!! more

ok, so the reviews on the other profile that they have for their old location (the 2000 Canal st. one) totally trashes them but I don't really know why. I had some troubles with my car, took it to one guy that had really good reviews online and he took the whole day to inspect my car and tell me the wrong problem, saying he refused to fix it. I took it to Mid City on the advice of a friend and within a day, it was fixed perfectly and, even better, done at a good price! Maybe their new location is their new start; I would totally recommend to anyone! more

I wish I could leave 0 stars. The people are unreliably and disrespectful liars. No one ever calls you back. I called every day for a week before I finally had someone tell me when my car would be ready. They promised and ""personally guaranteed"" to have my car ready before the date that my rental car coverage ran out. That was a lie. They also spoke with my insurance company and guaranteed repairs would be made by a certain date... they weren't. I've had bad experiences with auto shops before but this was ridiculous. When I complained, I was told ""hey we're doing you a favor here."" How so? You're charging State Farm out the ass... more

I would encourage you heavily not to use Chris and Mid City Automotive and Towing. I had to wait multiple days to get bad service. more

They don't even deserve one star, but I could not submit review without one. I was refered to mid City Automotive&Towing by a commercial client of theirs. Mid City had my vehicle for 6 months. Everytime I would call to check the status they would say, "" Oh, give me a couple of days""; which turned into 6 months.I finally was fed up and told them to tow my vehicle to my home, they did me a favor and towed it for free, gee thanks. more

I got in a wreck in New Orleans while on vacation and the police recommended them for a tow when I could not get in touch with the insurance company. After the insurance adjuster looked at the car (I distinctly told ""Chris"" who I guess owned the place not to work on it), they ordered the parts and took my car apart to begin work. It took over a month to do (which is fine, most of that was waiting on parts... whatever). They installed the wrong steering rack (after having to order it again because they ordered yet another wrong rack), and I had to get the local dealership to set it straight. I found out the paint job is shoddy now, as love bugs ate through it in around 12 hours' time. I am out of town so I can't confront them about it, but judging by previous conversation, they would not do anything anyway. Do not use this company. They will screw you over. more

This company apparently has a new deal with the chiropractic clinic 8 blocks up Canal St. near Chickie-Wah-Wah to tow cars at night from the clinic's parking lot, which is an attractive place for Chickie-Wah-Wah patrons to park after clinic hours. Having dinner and a glass of wine with my sister outside the club while Anders Osborne and Susan Cowsill played inside, I suddenly noticed a Mid City tow truck about to tow our car in the dark parking lot. I confronted the driver, a bald dude with metal teeth named Kenny ""White Boy"" Muhl, who threatened to break my legs with his tow truck as he scooped up our car. I stepped aside. A black dude came out of the shadows to ask White Boy if he ""was doin' alright."" Next day (4/7/2010), we ransomed our car from Mid City Towing's pig sty of a lot, with a patch of scratches on the front bumper, for $172 plus change. The thug attendant said he'd tell White Boy I was looking for him. I said we'd have the police talk to the Boy. Best to steer clear of this company at all costs.
