selection is good but watch your them closely when you get rung up. CS is horrible if you have a problem more

The Microcenter by MIT is a computer persons dream. While, admittedly, much smaller than Frye's this store focuses on the important items and often comes out on top in terms of service and prices. This store has all the necessary electronic gadgets and the sales are incredible. 1 GB flash drives for 15 dollars and computers for 400 dollars is an example of what is available here. more

I love MicroCenter. They are easy to get to (if you have a car) right on Memorial Drive in Cambridge. I'm always amazed that the employees there are always able to answer any question that I might have! They also have great prices, and run great sales. I get a huge flyer from them about every month and can usually find what I need for far less than any other retailer (online or in store!). They also have repair services - and even though the labor rate can be high, they really do know what they are doing! And they have a great Mac department too! more

I would say it is a great place for your to keep update yourself in latest technology. I have been there couple times however the prices are not as competitive as bestbuy, circuit city or even staples. They have great selection of PCs though. If you want to find a deal at microcenter, check out their circular, some of them are good price. So my suggestion is do your research before you buy. more

It may seem odd to review a computer store, but Micro Center is not that well known. They are a chain with 20 locations across the country and the Cambridge store is the only one in New England. Micro Center carries everything you need to build a PC, every cable you might ever want, every switch, every form of media and case, etc. They have a large central shopping area filled with parts, add-ons and software. On the side are rooms for selling Macs, PC's, monitors, cameras, pda's, printers, scanners, etc. They also have one of the largest, if not the largest selection of computing books and magazines. I always check Micro Center when I need or want something. Odds are they have it or something similar. I may decide to buy online or from another store but Micro Center is at the very least a huge resource for investigating. I've also spent way too much money there over the years. Located near the BU bridge. Shares a lot with Trader Joe's. more
