I made the best of it 1/15/2012

When we walked in, I could tell it was going to be a long evening. The hostess didn't know if she was coming or going. We had two couples in front of us waiting to be seated. An older gentleman walks in and cuts in front of the line and gets her short attention span. He tells her that he has a reservation which I also had. She leaves the podium and seats him. Mean while, we all have to step back each time a waiter comes to the front of the podium to open a drawer at the bottom to get what appear to look like shot glasses. So much for the interior designer; Are you kidding me! You can tell by the look on the couple in front of me that they can't believe what is happening. We finally get seated in a nook like area that fits four tables tightly. You can see this because the chair backs have scuffed the pinkish walls with white sheetrock powder. Again, to the interior designer, chair rail moulding please. We get our appetizer and my wife has her plate, so I wait for mine. And I wait. He overlooked this I guess. I get his attention and finally my plate. I must say the portobello mushroom was good. My wife was being entertained by our waiter because he would take the wrong order to the wrong table and then bring it back to the table next to it. He also took my wife's Ice tea to one of those tables before he brought it back to us. My wife's veal was so tough that she could not cut it with her knife. Our waiter took it to the kitchen, so I stopped eating to wait for my wife's plate to come back. He brought it back and it was the right meat - veal. Our key lime pie was great! Not too tart. My bill was $58.00. I gave him my credit card and he comes back with a bill for me to sign for $78.00!!! He comes back to get the bill and apologizes for the mistake. Here's the icing on the cake. Our waiter brought one of those generic white plastic bags that say ""Thank you"" in red for our food to take home. We're Talking fine dining Okay. Am I coming back? You betcha!! A good meal & a comedy show. You can't beat that. They got my 20% gratuity. more

Fav New Place! 12/8/2011

I had never been here before but one of my co workers suggested that we eat here fore lunch. I am an instant fan, the food is so good. I recommend this place to everyone now. The place tends to get really crowded at lunch time and sometimes there is a wait but its worth it. more

Great food! 12/1/2011

I tend to travel often due to work and I frequently come to Houston. Italian food tends to be my comfort food and every time I arrive at Houston I always make my way to Mia Bella. Their Pavilions location is conveniently located near the hotel I always stay at. The food is superb, never had an issue with service even though sometimes I see that their extremely busy due to some convention or concert. I've also noticed a change in management and I must applaud to their current staff, they run a tight ship! The staff seems to always be in a great mood, it's very noticeable when it comes to service and their attitude. Keep up the good work, and don't change the bellinis nor the eggplant lasagna... more

Nicest Staff - Great Food 10/30/2011

We were in from out of town, had a reservation mix up and Anthony was kind enough to work things out so we could be seated right away. He could not have been nicer or more accommodating! Our waiter was great - very knowledgeable. Everyone loved their food - salads were yummy, the meatballs were a big hit and the osso bucco won RAVES!! The next time we are in Houston, we will definitely be back! And special thanks to Anthony for being so nice! more

Great Brunch 10/10/2011

Stopped by Mia Bella's (Pavilions 1201 San Jacinto St. Houston TX, 77002) on Sunday before the Texans game. Had the bellini's which were fabulous!! Didn't eat, but the waitress at our table was awesome!! The atmosphere was great! more

Instant fan!! 10/3/2011

Just had dinner here with some friends this past weekend for the first time and I'm an instant fan. The food was phenomenal and well priced. Our server Chelsea was very sweet I would definitely recommend her. I'm planning to go back soon and I can't wait! more

What Happened? Sign of the Times? 7/7/2010

I was all excited to check out the new location in the Houston Pavillions. Mia Bella had made a mark about a decade ago off their original location on Main Street.\r \r We went there because they offer free champagne and strawberries for birthdays. However, the place was not very celebratory.\r \r We sat at the bar and had a drink and the employees were depressed. The place was a complete ghost town, so we left. Cons: Empty more
