My Husband and I are Mexican Food Junkies so we were super excited to see that the closest restaurant to us was Mi Mexico when we moved to New Smyrna Beach. I was born and raised in California and excellent authentic mexican food is available everywhere, so I may be a little picky because I've had the best of the best, not to mention my hubby lived in San Diego for awhile and would frequent little taco trucks and restaurants on the other side of the border. MI MEXICO HAS THE YUMMIEST CHIPS AND SALSA...I want some right now!!! They also have great chicken, big chunks of white meat seasoned and cooked perfectly...I don't typically order chicken at Mexican restaurants, but I took a bite of someone else's and it was good...I am including this, because I am generally creeped out chicken that I haven't prepared myself...I don't like dark meat or any thing mysterious looking with veins in it...Not the case, their chicken is perfect! This place is very popular because it's cheap. The food is typical Mexican fair and not particularly noteworthy. If you're looking for excellent Mexican food, go elsewhere. more

The food was excellent and the wait staff were extremely courteous. The shrimp fajitas were delicious and the Sangria was heavenly. The ingredients were fresh and somewhat authentic. The white cheese dip was awesome. Prices fair. more

Okay so it is a little ways off the beaten path... beachside New Smyrna, but great food. I always get the #6... taco, burrito and enchilada with chicken. The plate is huge and it only runs $6. Wow. The staff is authentic and nice, the food runner (guy who brings the food) is great... his arm is loaded all the way up to his shoulder and he never drops it. Honestly, I can't rave enough about this place. We take all our friends and family there. Yum. more
