Having lived a chunk of my life in a state where good, authentic Mexican food is ubiquitous -- meaning, good authentic Mexican food can be found in hole-in-the-wall restaurants and EVERYONE knew it ... meaning you would hardly eat at nicer restaurants, including chain restaurants, because they were never authentic ... meaning, you get my drift. That said, I appear to gravitate towards barebones eateries, where, faced w/o the veil of ambiance, the restaurant is forced to serve up good food.
