Simply the best! 4/12/2011

I am a big fan of this diner. My family eats out all of the time and this is the only restaurant that we go to where everyone is full and happy. It offers a variety of foods from your traditional classic dishes to eclectic off the beaten path dishes. I love the fact that you can either have the eggs, bacon, hashbrown venue or totally step out of your comfort zone and go upscale with the creamy, rich Charleston Shrimp and Grits. We are so excited the diner has a new location in Julington Creek. Love it! more

Wish I lived closer! 1/4/2011

My boyfriend and I were greeted with happy employees. The place was packed but we only waited for 5 minutes to be seated. We shared their fried chicken and waffles and yo hala french toast both of which were delicious! Our server mixed hot sauce with warm maple syrup which we dunked both the awesome fried chicken and waffles in. The combination was heaven in our mouths. If you've seen Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives, then you've seen the huge plate of french toast. It exceeded my expectations and more than fulfilled my sweet tooth. Our server was terrific. Trying to wake my boyfriend up now so we can head there for breakfast again! more

Friendliest/best food in town 8/27/2009

We drive almost 7 miles one way to go to breakfast often..love everything on the menu...take friends/coworkers to lunch and everyone wants to go back there. We take the whole family to breakfast and from the youngest to the oldest, we all love going there. He now has the best complete staff ever, great cooks, great wait staff and the owners are wonderful. Mark is very special. Pros: Eggs benedict...great sauce, Cons: Been going there 15 years and haven't seen any cons more

Rockin' good eats, superior service, and loads o' fun 10/24/2006

In town on business, I got on-line to find a local breakfast joint and stumbled on the Metro Diner located fairly close to the hotel. One review said the food was great but not-so on the service. I am here to rebuke that claim. Not only was the food phenomenal (we split the crab cake benedict - AMAZING! and the Yo Halla - frangelico marinated bananas and cream cheese stuffed inside of french toast style challa bread covered in strawberry/blueberry compote - Also AMAZING!), but the service was fantastic. Amanda was attentive as well as cute as a button and the manager and even an owner, Mark, checked on us repeatedly. They were fairly busy but didn't push for the turn'em and burn'em philosophy of many fast-paced diners. In short, give them a try. You won't be disappointed. Pros: food, service, food choices Cons: limited off-street parking more

Breakfast is good, but the service could be better. 10/6/2006

I continually search out the best mom and pop breakfast places all over the country. Metro diner has a nice vibe and is a fan favorite of the locals. There is ample servings but the staff could use a personality lift. Little interaction between patrons and staff. you may have to ask twice to receive water and do not expect a check back if your food isn't exactly right. With a little service training, this could be a nice breakfast experience. more
