Perfect for Families 12/13/2002

For generations, going to the zoo, with parents, grandparents, or you class from school has always been a delight! more

Getting better every year 8/14/2002

The Memphis Zoo offers family entertainment and a full day of enjoyment. It is a relatively inexpensive way to learn and teach our children about animals from all over the world. There are many opportunities throughout the year to see unique and unusual creatures as well as the "common" animals we come to expect to view at any zoo. Memphis' Zoo shed new light and charm on specific species with their Cat Country & Primate Canyon natural habitats, the Barnyard, Herpetarium, Aquarium, and now the Panda exhibit. Bravo! Pros: Family oriented, open-air viewing, Community involvement more

my favorite place in the city 8/8/2002

The zoo is my favorite place in Memphis. There is always something new to discover. The way the children look when they see their favorite exhibit is the best. When their eyes light up and you know that moment is the highlight of their day. more

Hot and Wild Creatures 8/7/2002

The Zoo is not just for the kiddies! 7/26/2002

The Memphis Zoo is definitely not just for the kiddies anymore. Starting in the early 90's, the Zoo has opened new and innovative exhibits focusing on education and preservation of different areas of the animal kingdom. From Cat Country to Primate Canyon to On the Farm to the Zoo's newest exhibit CHINA, each exhibit uses natural environments to showcase each animal. In the Zoo's CHINA exhibit, there is even a space for two giant pandas (the arrangement is still being worked out but they should arrive by the end of 2002). The Zoo is not only a great tourist attraction but also a great place for Memphians to visit and enjoy. Definitely a 10! Pros: Creative, Educational, Interesting Cons: Memphis humidity more
