Worst

I went to the Melting Pot for my b-day and I wasn't terribly impressed for what we got. We spent $80 without a dessert for 2 people! You have to cook the entree yourself, which I ...

Never again-- do not go here 1/25/2012

After being house bound for 3 months I was anxious to get out to a good restaurant and be pampered. I have wanted to go to the melting pot for a long time so I thought I would splurge and go. I had made reservations for 8 for wednesday night. I arrived on time and wanted to be seated, they could not seat me???, then several in the party called to cancel so I thought it was going to be three of us and offered to take a smaller table. They sat us and then 2 more showed up, so we need a bigger table-- they refused -- we asked for a chair at the table- they refused- We asked for a manager - who never came - but the waiter brought a chair. I went to the restroom and there were several larger tables that were all empty. more

Big city price waltmart style taste 6/20/2011

I have been to a few expensive restaurants in bigger cites like Chicago, New York, Miami and LA. Well they got the prices right but did not deliver with the food... at All. don't go unless you like paying a lot of money for stuff to cover your insecurities. What city do they think this is? more

Melting Expectations... 1/23/2011

This rates among the worst restaurant experiences my wife and I have ever had! Horrible service. Horrible tasting fondue. Rediculously high priced. I have nothing good to say about this restaurant or it's concept. I will never go again. more

Awful Service 7/8/2010

We showed up at the Melting Pot at 7:00 PM on a Wednesday night. When we walked in there was nobody at the front desk to seat us. We waited for 10 minutes for a hostess to show up and seat us. All that time numerous waiters and staffers walked past us without even acknowledging we were standing there waiting. When the hostess finally strolled up to the front desk, she asked us if we had a reservation. When we replied no, she said ?Well let?s just see if we can fit you in?. The place was empty as only about 1/3 of the tables were even seated. After we were seated the waiter quickly gave us menus and said he would be right back to take our order. We waited for 45 minutes at the table and the waiter never returned. We got fed up with the crap service and got up to leave. On the way out I talked to the hostess about their lack of service and why we were leaving and she could have cared less. I would never go back to this place again. On the positive side I saved at least $100.00 because that is about the minimum price to eat here Cons: Awful Service more

Whatever!!! $200 11/19/2009

*Service--It takes a while for your server to get your fondu stuff all ready. *Food--Way too pricy, They don't seem to give you the fair amount of food for the price you pay ( $200 bucks for a family of four--dinner and dessert ) Not worth your money. *Don't seem to use good quality cheese, even for a non-cheese fan. SPEND YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE. Especially If your even thinking about going there for prom or some so called ""special occasion"". Eat somewhere else, save money, feel better. Pros: New Atmosphere Cons: Not so great. Bit over-rated more

Great food and a romantic atmosphere 3/9/2009

My husband and I frequent this restaurant especially for special occasions. The food is delicious and the experience is incredible. We usually order "" the big night out"" which is a little pricey but is worth the splurge ever once in awhile. This restaraunt is always one of my top recomendations. See you there! more

Great date or girls night on the town 7/9/2008

Reservations are needed for weekends. Plan on a two hour dining experience, don't stuff yourself on the salads even though they are good. I didn't like the Caribbean Cheese Fondue the Wisconsin Trio Cheese Fondue was much better, the Court Bouillon vegetable broth is simple but delish and the Bourguignonne is good I'm not a fan of the Mojo one though. I love the bread selection but wish for a more crusty sourdough. Save room for dessert it's just not the same without it. The bar isn't bad but specialty drinks aren't that fab there. Pros: Great experience, yummy food, fun place to go Cons: Two hours is a must here to really enjoy it. Some waiters are snobby more

Best Fondue 5/6/2008

The MeltingPot Restaurants is the country's premier fondue restaurant... I highly recommend it! Great Food and Great Service! more

Go for appetizers and dessert only 4/28/2008

My family and I went here to celebrate a college graduation. It was the first time for fondue for all 8 of us, so we really didn't know what to expect. The cheese appetizer, specifically the fiesta cheese, was delicious. Everyone liked their salads too, so we really had high expectations for the main course. The main course was where we ran into some big problems. First, there were only 2 pots for all of us. Talk about chaos. The fondue forks were all colliding with each other and everyone had to move their fork when somebody wanted to take his or her own fork out. Second, the two cooking ""methods"" were vastly different from each other and no meat was suited for either of them. We had the court bouillon (a broth) and the bourgeinonne (spelling?), and the only good foods for these were the ""fried"" shrimp in the oil and the potatoes in the court bouillon. The filet mignon was gross.. think about it--would you want poached or fried filet mignon? Lastly, we tied up our meal with the dessert fondue, which was absolutely delicious and totally worth it. Pros: Dessert, ambience, romantic Cons: Bad for large groups more

Only good for desert!! 4/10/2008

Girls night has never been so expensive. Good thing we were able to share!! The cheese was DELICIOUS we had the spinich artichoke and fiesta and that was wonderful. The Cesar slad tasted like miricle whip and the dinner....well to my surprise you have to cook it all on your own and I was not impressed!! However the dessert is the only reason that I would ever go back!! I now have a new craving for chocolate covered anything.Don't go if you are in a hurry we were there just eating for 2 hours!! Oh and if you have a tendancey to faint over sticker shock definitly stay away. My meal which included appitizer, salad, 5 different types of meat, and dessert was $76 before tax and tip!!!! Pros: The dessert is to die for!! Cons: hanging out with raw food was no fun!! more

Worst food for the biggest price. 2/16/2008

Firstly, I have never complained about a restaurant ever! But, this was by far the worst service I have ever experienced. The water alone took about a half hour to get out to us and the waiter looked as though he was dead on his feet. I was with 6 people and the total bill came out to $273.00. For this amount of money I would have expected an amazing presentation and amazing food. (Oh, and when I checked our account the next day, they had overcharged our card, and when I called to mention this problem to a supervisor she told me that it was a common problem and offered for me to come back for a free dessert to try the experience again! ) Pros: I guess you could say that you've now gone to this restaurant.... Cons: You spend way too much money on terrible service and food. more

Great food 2/11/2008

The food is great and it's different. Dipping your food is fun and a unique experience. Best of all is the dessert, the choices of chocolate fondue and fresh fruit is delicious! Pros: Great food and great service Cons: The tables are small for the amount of food served, especially the table for two- too small. more

Love it! Service could be better though. 2/5/2008

Love this place! Fun atmosphere, fun concept. It's not an inexpensive place to go, but it's a great date restaurant and awesome for a nice night out. Love cheese, wine and dessert! What could be better than that! I recommend the coq a vin, there was one base that I tried for the fondue that was just oily and gross. Service could be better though, and although it seems like a good place for large groups I went with a group once and the service could have been improved in that situation even more. Overall though, I would recommend this restaurant highly. more

good, but not a main meal 12/15/2007

We had the Wisconsin cheese fondue on a girls night out. It was delicious, service was friendly yand fast, and we had fun. The desert was awesome-yin yang chocolate. So good with marshmallows and cheesecake! I'd go back just for the desert! The pomegranite martini was tasty, but I would never order alcohol there again. The drinks were small, weak, and expensive. It was $80 for cheese, chocolate, 1 beer, and 1 martini with tip so be prepared to shell out! I would definitely go back, but not for a whole meal. Pros: service, ambience, deserts, fun meal Cons: cost, parking, tasty but weak drinks more

Fun Place to Eat 10/25/2007

The food is very good. The Fondue is fun to eat. The service is slow. We've been several times now and know that you need to plan hours to eat. It's best to dine here when you have time and you with friends you haven't seen for a long time. Pros: Fun and delicious food Cons: Service is slow more

Awfully expensive melted cheese and chain restaurant service. 9/20/2007

If you head to the Melting P0t expect perfuctory service and relatively high prices ($30-50/person.) Save your cash and head to one of the restaurants next door for better service, better food, and an outstanding experience. Great idea for a restaurant, poor on execution. more

I feel like im melting 8/31/2007

The fundo was cheesy and the chocolate was creamy. But they had lazy servers who sat in the back yapping on and on about some tasty pizza from around the corner. Pros: hot waitresses Cons: no basketball standards more

Great ambience 8/29/2007

I really loved the ambience of this restaurant, but you definitnely need to be in for a relaxed evening if you go here. The service is a little slow, and it just takes a long time as is with all of the different courses. They don't offer very good seating for large groups either. It's a little expensive for the amount of food you get compared to other nice restaurants in the downtown area. Pros: fabulous dessert Cons: terrible parking more
