LOVE IT!! Fun, Romantic & Yummy 12/12/2011

My hubby & I went for our Anniversary. They put us in a very romantic corner booth area with no one around. We had a wonderful dinner and I don't have the words for the dessert - MY, MY!! They brought us a complimentary glass of Champagne with strawberries in honor of our Anniversary. Service was incredible, above and beyond to make our evening special. Thank You!! more

Disappointing 5/11/2010

I was really excited to go to the Melting Pot for date night. When we walked in, I noticed a weird, dirty mop type smell, even though the decor was new & stylish. Pros: Lovely decor, nice staff Cons: Parking, blandish food, expensive more

Dessert to die for! 6/26/2008

This restaurant is a great place to go with a group. The cheese and chocolate are the best. I could skip the main entree all together and just go for appetizers and dessert. The oils for cooking the meat are not that great, but the other food items make up for that bigtime. Pros: Chocolate and Cheese Cons: Meat Oil more

Wonderful atmosphere, service and food 6/2/2008

A wonderful place for a romantic dinner, a business meeting, or a night out with friends. The service is excellent, the food outstanding and the atmosphere is sophisticated without being stuff. You will not be disappointed! more

Best Place for a fun, relaxing meal 5/30/2008

I have been to the restaurant with other couples and with the girls and have truly enjoyed both experiences. The whole concept of the meal allows for people to truly engage in coversation as you enjoy the different courses together. Our server had a great knowledge of wine and did a nice job of helping us select a meal well suited to our tastes. I personally enjoy the cheese course and highly recommend the California salad. If the Bananas Foster is available do not miss it! Overall, we have had great meals there with great service. I would recommend it to anyone. more

Wonderful atmosphere, food & service 5/22/2008

Everything from the servers to the food was wonderful, simply said. I expected the price to be much higher, but I was surprised when we received our check. The food selection was wide and exotic. My server had an incredible sense of humor. I felt like I was the only person dining that night. They were prompt and treated me like royalty. I would highly recommend the location on 3rd street to anyone who values customer service, class and good food. Oh, and the desert was to die for... absolutely fabulous. Pros: atmosphere, quality food, awesome wait staff Cons: none! more

Relaxing atmosphere, great food and service 5/19/2008

I enjoyed more than just a meal when I visited The MeltingPot - it truly was an experience just like they mention in their advertisement. How nice to linger over each course in these days of hectic schedules and rushed dinners - my friends and I enjoyed relaxing conversation and didn?t feel we were being hurried to finish. The presentation of the meal was impressive, and we were all very pleased with the service we received and the attention to detail starting with the introduction to fondue dining and review of the menu through to the last swipe of rich dark chocolate from the dessert fondue. I can?t wait to get back for my next MeltingPot experience! Pros: Waitstaff very attentive. Good quality food. Cons: Not this visit more

Perfect for Moms Night Out 5/17/2008

Recently went here for Moms Night Out. Some of us had been here before and some had not. Some were vegetarians and others were not. This was a perfect restaurant choice for us because we had a huge selection of food to choose from to accomodate everyone's needs and the ambiance was very relaxing for a group of stay-at-home moms. We loved the our servers who made sure that our one night out was very enjoyable and yummy! You never feel rushed here and are encouraged to take your time and enjoy the food. Of course, the dessert is incredible which was our favorite part. I have been here many times and I would recommend it to anyone looking for something different, fun, relaxing, and delicious! Pros: Great service, delicious food and desserts, no rush more

Amazing Food, Great Atmosphere, Best Mojitos in AUSTIN!!! 5/17/2008

This is an absolutely wonderful idea for a restaurant. The atmosphere is just perfect for downtown austin. My fiance and I had our first date here, and we just recently celebrated our engagement at the there. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Its a very interactive dinner that is just mouth-watering with every bite. Of course the chocolate is the best part about the dinner, but the cheese, salad, and entre were also just as good. I will say that they make the BEST Mojitos in the Austin area!! By far, this is my favorite place to eat in downtown Austin!! This is a must for Austinites and visitors to experience!! Pros: Great food, atmosphere, drinks, CHOCOLATE more

Best downtown restaurant! 5/17/2008

I originally tried MeltingPot out on a Monday Ladies Night and had a blast with my girlfriends. The waiters/waitresses, fantastic food and great wine list always keep us entertained and coming back. Since then my boyfriend and I go quite a bit for dinner because it gives us the opportunity to have a wide pallet of meats/fishes/veges for dinner. No matter if we get a private booth or sit in the main dining area, we always enjoy the ambiance. When our families traveled to Austin for a special event, it was an easy decision for us to chose MeltingPot for the big dinner. The BEST part was they take reservations on weekends! We had a large party and we were so impressed by how attentive they were to us. The waiter was very patient with us as 8 of the guests had never been to anything like the MeltingPot and had numerous questions (I think he probably explained the process 8 individual times, but he never got frustrated). It was one of the best large dinners out I have had with friends/family and everyone was VERY pleased with all of the four courses (especially since we got to try so many with the larger group). Pros: Reservations, Great Food, Fantastic Waitstaff more

Great food! Great chocolate! Great Idea! 5/16/2008

The first time my girlfriend and I went, I could smell the chocolate fondue from outside as we walked up from the valet. I was very excited, after all for any chocoholic, this was HEAVEN! We had a great time, but just had dessert. A short time later, my husband and I went there for a nice dinner. It was quiet, but not eariliy so, romantic, but comfortable, and unlike most experiences when eating out, it was very relaxing! This was an unexpected surprise to me because I was intimidated to cook my own food. What if we mess it up and then don't like it? Do we get to start over? What happens? My mind began wondering. Not to worry...the waitstaff has it all under control! They can guide you using your tastes and likes/dislikes based on the answers to some questions. This is going to be great, my mind began changing. After all, we had salad and cheese fondue already and both were to say the least, OUTSTANDING! (And I am not a cheese fan!) SO, needless to say, dinner came and went, as did dessert and we now spend an evening here a few times a month whether it is a full meal or just dessert. We bring our friends from out of town here, stop by for a drink after eating sushi (the Pineapple Meltdown is BEST), or very often drop in for a delicious dessert. We even spent New Years Eve here with several other couples. I'll tell ya what, this place has it all for any occasion, large and in need of a private room, or small and intimate. The management, waitstaff, bartenders are friendly, the place is immaculate all the time, it is competitvely priced, and conviently located! I have yet to find a place that I regularly crave that fits both my husband and my tastes. Can you tell I LOVE this place? Go and see why for yourself! Pros: Location, Food, Overall Ambience, Valet Parking, Service Cons: Can't eat it all! more

Great Ambience 5/16/2008

Found this by accident on a business trip. What a great experience! If this were closer to home, I would take my girlfriend here for a romantic evening. She is very picky but I really think she would enjoy it. Pros: Just a great experience in all aspects Cons: A little pricey but worth it more

At the top of ""my favorites"" list 5/16/2008

I've been to the this great downtown restaurant quite a few times and I don't seem to get tired of it. No matter when I go or who I take it's always a fun experience. The food is great, the atmosphere perfect (!) and there is so much attention to service. (Can you tell it's one of my favorite restaurants? ) Give it a try, you won't be disappointed. (And it's so much fun when you're with a group of your friends! ) Pros: Very romantic, great wine list Cons: Haven't found anything yet more

great romantic spot 5/15/2008

My girl friend's treated me to birthday dinner here and I kept thinking... this would be such a great place to come for a romantic dinner with the boyfriend. Lighting, ambiance, great food and attentive service... We reserved one of their private tables which turns into a cozy cocoon full of bubbling cheese, chocolate and privacy behind a sliding screen. The server was knowledgeable, prompt and friendly. Well worth the investment in both time and money -- especially if you love fondue. Pros: Ambiance, tasty, service Cons: Parking, costly more
