Mayan Restaurant

My friends and I never got to see the show because of smoke in the kitchen. We had just orderd and then we were all told to go outside and wait because of the smoke. Twenty five min. later, (after most every one else had left), we came back to our food already on the tabe and cold. Nither the waiter or manager would give us a discount for the cold food and not running show. I paid for the food and we promptly left to eat elseware. Larry Miller; you still owe me 20 bucks! Every time my husband and I mention 'going out to eat' the kids yell, 'Let's go to the Mayan!'. They love the atmosphere, the shows, even the balloon guy. Our server even offered to go track down the kids when our food arrived. The Mayan is a very family friendly place to eat and they have reasonable prices. Pros: atmosphere, shows, service more

If you want an mediocre meal with some fun entertainment, then this is the place to go. It is especially fun for children--a place for the entire family. It can be pricey, so unless you're rich I suggest you don't see a movie afterwards in the adjoining theater because that's where Larry Miller will really rip you off. I have some responses to some previous comments. Someone above said something about having too much ""water sound"" at The Mayan. Well, apparently, you must really not like the outdoors because most everybody I know LOVES the waterfalls. Secondly, multiple people have said that they got their food cold. I have been to The Mayan 4 times and have never received any food any less than too hot to touch. And finally, for those of you who have said that you get a seat where you can't see anything, that is what you get for going on a Friday night. Go during the week and you can get very very good seats! Honestly, if you want to go to a retauraunt with a theme and an environment like no other in this area, go to The Mayan. Yes, the lines are long, especially on the weekends. In fact, I wouldn't even try getting into the Mayan after 6:30 on a Friday or Saturday without doing the special passport deal offered by the movie theater next door. For $25 you can get a movie/dinner package, and the best part is that you get to skip the long line at the resturant. Inquire at the customer service desk at the theater. The best part of the Mayan is the atmosphere and entertainment. The food, while average, is reasonably priced considering the unique environment that you eat in - it could be in the top of a tree or next to a waterfall. Take time eating and enjoy a couple of waterfall dive shows. If you like spicy food, try a splash of the hot sauce at the table - it has quite a kick. more

The place is just aweful. We actually had a mouse drop on the table. They offered to comp our meal but... How that be excused? I wouldn't recommend that restaurant, I certainly wouldn't go back. The server kept forgeting our order. Pros: Fun for kids Cons: Service Sucks, mouse running around more
