Maui Wowi

I just happened to see Maui Wowi one day as I was driving down Washington looking for someplace else. I caught it out of the corner of my eye and made a mental note to definitely come back and check it out. I've had Kona coffee beans brought to me from Hawaii and loved them, so I looked forward to trying it out. Unfortunately Maui Wowi is not the same as the Maui in Hawaii. Yes it is really nicely decorated and they offer free wi-fi, but I wasn't impressed by the coffee. It was definitely Kona beans but it seemed to be missing some of the flavor or richness that usually accompanies it. I was disappointed because I really wanted to like it. Apart from that, though, the service was excellent. I may go back again to give it another try at some point, but I'm in no rush. Pros: Nice deco Cons: So-so coffee more

I must confess, if you are a fan of Starbucks or gas station coffee, this place will ruin you. I had not been to a Starbucks in the longest time as a result of the superior brew, amazing smoothies, friendly service, and great atmosphere (not to mention free wi-fi) that they serve up on a daily basis at Maui Wowi. I did have an unfortunate lapse in judgment today and at a meeting in Katy that was at a Starbucks, I ordered an iced coffee. After my taste-buds revolted, I promptly drove to Maui Wowi at an excessive velocity and speed to hopefully revive my now Starbucks tainted taste-buds through the careful application of what can only be described as ""real coffee."" Thank you Maui Wowi. You may have just saved my ability to taste anything for the rest of my life. Pros: Deeeeeeeeeelicioso Cons: Not open 24/7 more

I stopped in for lunch today, and had a smoothie. It's was great. No long wait, great service, and a smoothie made with real bannanas. The music is a little bland, but who cares! more

I must start off by saying, MAUI WOWI saved my business during Hurricane IKE. I had no power and no internet to communicate with my customers. I went to starbucks and you had to pay/register for internet access $5 plus your drink ($13 out the door). Outrageous!!! Over rated and over priced. Here at MAUI WOWI people are super friendly like the island vibe and FREE internet. Just ask for the wep address and your coffee ($2) and your up and running. Also a loyaty card to get a free drink is a wonderful incentive. In conclusion I think this place paradise in the concrete jungle and is worth your time to try their beverages and FREEEEEE internet! Maui Wowi was not a name that I recognized until recently and when I had one during a conference at the convention center here in Houston I was hooked. Now they have a store right on my route - it offers the same great smoothies as the stand in the convention center but it also has coffee and a larger variety of products. The atmosphere is really nice fun and the smoothie and coffee products are top notch. This is a great place for a well made and attracively priced fruit drink or coffee. I loved this place! I'm not a smoothie person, but my boyfriend is, and he has fallen in love with the Black Lava Beach flavor. I like the coffee Chill. Its similar to Starbucks Frappuchino, but I think the Chill is more flavorful. We love the music playing when we walk in; it makes you feel like you are on vacation! The Tiki glasses are so cute! I can see this place becoming a regular stop on the weekends... keep up the good work! Pros: great drinks, try the coffees. Cons: kind of hard to get to the first time - but worth it! more

This place has good smoothies, but they are way too overpriced. I also tried one of their coffees...very average quality and $4.50 for a SMALL! I liked the smoothies, but I don't think I'll be back until they lower their prices. Pros: Good smoothies Cons: Not enough flavor options and overpriced. more
