I would like to respond to the 1 star people below. I don't think Mary needs to worry about keeping customers like you. The policies are CLEARLY written. Saying NO, is not RUDE. If you are considering shopping at Mary's PLEASE do not take the 1 star review into consideration. The point was they are horrible customer service because they will not return a halter without tags and not receipt. I'm not sure any good business owner who would do so...but I digress. Let me tell you about our experience. We visited the shop the first time this summer. I don't remember the name of the person who helped me, but she made an overwhelming decision easy. She answered questions from someone who had no clue what she was doing. She helped me figure out what to buy. She gave alternatives. She showed me the expensive and the budget-conscious options. I really appreciated the customer service. It's run as a small business. This is not a large national corporation that has money set aside to make the scammers in this world be quiet. I personally will spend my money on places that truly value the customer who will be back. Not people who want to make her pay for their own irresponsibility. more

Are you looking for used saddles, boots, tack? Mary's Saddle & Tack is the place to go. They have consignments which is very reasonable in price. Mary's also a store that has all your English & Western needs. Mary's also offer ordering products and saving the shipping charge. Mary's also offer a 3 day saddle trial on all of her saddles to make sure they fit your horse and you. The store is fully stocked. Looking for a helmet? Their staff helps with making sure you have the correct fit. When buying consignment items you have 3 days to return them, new items 2 weeks. If buying a gift just let the staff know that it is a gift. They will make note on the receipt. Very friendly staff that provides quality service even if you don't buy. more

Yes, we are a small business and so we do have policies that have to be upheld. We will always accept a return of product - AS LONG AS it is within the policies that are posted all over the store and on the receipt. I am sorry if this does not accomodate everyone but they are in place for a reason. \r \r I apologize if there was an incident with someone being on the phone, but we are only human and sometimes there are circumstances that require immediate attention. We are a small business and run with a small staff. The complaint was taken care of the day that it happened and an apology was given at that time. This was an isolated incident.\r \r Mary works very hard to keep a full line of products for every riding disipline. Her business is ran as a small business, but is stocked to accomodate a complete line of horse related products for both English & Western. \r \r Her ""Storewide Sales"" offer great deals on products up to 75% off, with most items being a minimum of 20% off. She carries both New and Consignment items, which are hard to find in a retail business.\r \r We work with several of the biggest trainers in the area that seem pleased with our service & selection. Prices are high and be careful; if you buy something beware that it will be unlikely that you'll be able to return it or even receive store credit/exchange. Pros: Only option around the Beaverton/Hillsboro area Cons: Poor customer service more

Husband not a horse person wanted to buy me a halter for my horse at Chistmas time , well it was way to big wanted to exchange it for a smaller size they refused because he didn't have original tag, he didn't think he should have kept all the receipts.I understand there policy but because of this he went to other places to buy me gifts , they lost a customer. This was not only handled wrong they were rather RUDE. I have been in sales for several years I was a manager for variety store for many many years. I understand the policy. I also understand who the customer is the halter was one that they carried and it was CLEAN brand new the story made sense and you keep a customer. We know alot of people and people talk. I like this place a lot. It can be a bit to expensive, but it is one of the best places to buy boots! They have lots of things from tack to helmets. Also a good saddle place. I've visisted Mary's tack and feed a couple times, I am always pleased with their service and the quality of their products. They have anything from saddles to breeches, and both western and english tack, they also sell used tack. They have sales occasionaly and in that way I like to go there. The employees are friendly and are very helpful. It's a great place to get your horse needs! more
