Unique Atmosphere and food 12/5/2006

Martick's is like no where else. Mr. Martick is amazing, his food is superb and where else can you eat in a former speakeasy. It is a special experience for those who appreciate a unique experience. Pros: Personalized service, excellent food, eclectic atmosphere Cons: Neighborhood is a bit difficult for parking. more

People need to get their heads checked 4/21/2006

This IS one of the worst restaurants, period. If you like dining in a room with no ventilation, plates purchased at the Goodwill and food that appears to have been inspired by cafeteria fare from some 1960's mental institution, then this is the place for you. The only thing unique about Martick's is the fact that it's remained in business all of these years. There are so many things wrong with Martick's. Instead of ranting, it might just be easier to say that it and it's food, suck. more

Martick's is such a part of Baltimore. When you enter it, you're entering a different world. THIS IS NOT A CHEESECAKE FACTORY. This is one of the best places to take someone to show you're in the know. It is all charm. I've had so many good experiences here. Even the bad ones, where I had to convince Morris to cook for us and we had self service at the bar was an experience you can get no where else. more

Martick's can be best described at lacking the ""bang for the buck"". Food is good but overpriced relative to the experience (most entrees are $18-25, small portions, with no sides). Restaurant is a "" Hole in the wall"" located in a poor neighbourhood. The interior is a poor copy of a French Bistro/cafe, chairs and table are terribly uncomfortable. Martick is the chef, who prepare's every meal himself, so be prepared for long waits and disorganized service. more

WONDERFUL 2/4/2003

THE SERVER WAS ATTENTIVE. THE FOOD WAS SURPRISINGLY EXCELLENT. I WAS TAKEN ABACK BY THE LOCATION ( ALMOST LIKE AN OASIS IN THE DESERT ) BUT PLEASANTLY SURPRISED UPON ENTERING THE ESTABLISMENT. more
