Neighborhood seafood that is MARKET FRESH. 7/10/2008

A neighborhood favorite that frequently offers coupons in the mail. I had just spent the weekend in Galveston and had a GREAT experience at Nate's in Jamaica Beach and was craving oyster poboys. I decided to go to market seafood- because it is a place where my parents go to whenever they want fresh seafood in a jiffy. The woman before me was greeted by name- which left a good impression on me. Pros: great location, locals frequent more

One of Clear Lake City's best kept secrets 3/17/2008

If you're looking for fresh, delicious seafood with a cajun touch, this is the place. The food never disappoints. Service is provided by friendly folks that seem passionate about what they do. Stuffed Flounder fillet, The Catfish with Crawfish etoufe and the Fried Oyster PoBoy are just some of my favorites. Pros: Excellent Food, Friendly Service Cons: Located in stipcenter. more

Great gumbo and great service 5/17/2007

Wonderful and friendly staff make you feel right at home when you walk in. Don't go in their expecting to get great, healthy seafood. Go for the fried food. Their shrimp combo is perfect, especially the coconut shrimp with the spicy orange marmalade dipping sauce is out of this world. Also, they have Fat Tire on tap so it is a winner with me. Pros: Service, Food, Price Cons: Variety more

Never any crawfish 4/7/2007

During crawfish season they only have crawfish on Saturday & Sunday. We've called ahead on 4 separate occasions and they were out of crawfish each time, even early on a Saturday night. What's the point of advertising fresh crawfish if you are ALWAYS out? It was easier to get crawfish when I lived in San Antonio than it has been here in Houston. more

Best Fried Catfish in Clear Lake area! Casual, friendly atmosphere--a real gem! 1/30/2007

This newer place in Clear Lake is run by some good 'ol boys who know great food and friendly service. You order at a register and they bring your food to your table when it's ready. Seafood items with some Cajun flair--my friends from Louisiana say it reminds them of home! Large portions at excellent prices--beats Pappadeaux by a long shot. Tried the crab bisque--rich, creamy, and chock full of crabmeat. They tout their gumbo as ""award-winning"" and best in area (I'm just not big on gumbo). Saw some stuffed mushrooms on another table that I'll have to try next time I'm in. Went in for the fried catfish--it is moist and flavorful, not dirty at all. Came with hushpuppies and good fries with just right seasoning. Some non-seafood items for the land-lubbers, and nice selection of homemade desserts (the most unique bread pudding I've ever had--topped with meringue and bourbon cream sauce; chocolate-bourbon-pecan pie nice, too). Pretty good beer and wine selection. Definitely worth a look! more
