We fixed most things ourselves so we wouldn't have to deal with their rude attitude. When we moved in I needed a fax resent with authorization to install cable tv and Mary Ann sa...

Run away from Mainlander 2/25/2009

I moved to Oregon and desperately needed a place. I had been searching online and seen several homes in my price range. Every time I called Mainlander about a property, no one could tell me if the property was available. I was informed by a rude receptionist I would have to wait for a call back. No big deal, I thought. It took over a week for them to call me back, I called everyday and left a message. Pros: Lonnie was nice Cons: Everything. The experance was horrid. more

Nice Homes 12/31/2008

I have recently viewed several properties listed with Mainlander. I chose Mainlander because at the time they had the best quality homes available to rent. The downside is they have lots of hoops to jump through in order to rent a home. The plus side was I found a nice home which fit my needs. Everyone I had contact with was very helpful. Pros: nice homes, variety of properties more

unhappy property manager 12/29/2008

I had been looking for a rental property for sometime from out of state, I looked at several of Mainlander properties and amongst recieving phone calls about changing my scheduled time of viewing or them having their schedules mixed up and calling 3 times to ensure the time to meet- 2 of the property managers were pleasant. We had decided on a home in LO and met the Mainlander employee there w/ our deposit money and app fee check. Pros: selection of homes Cons: poor customer service, somewhat disorganized more

Poor Property Management! 12/18/2008

I rented a property from Mainlander over the past year... I should have known from the day we moved in what a bad decision that was. Not only was the place filthy with garbage on the floor, but they took a ton out of our deposit when we moved out, claiming the place was in much better condition when we moved in (FALSE!). I could never get our property manager on the phone, and requests for serious issues (ant infestation) went unanswered for days. more

Terrible Customer Service 12/4/2008

This has to be the most unproffesional property management company in all of Oregon. I found their website through craigslist and started looking at the homes available. I was interested in one and called. They told me that it was already rented. 4 days later it was still on craigslist. Called back and they said that it was not rented and asked if I would like to see it. I was told that I would get a call back within an hour to schedule a time. No call back at all. Emails to the company proved worthless. 2 days to return an email. All they said was the property was rented and go check out their website to see if there is anything else I was interested in. If this is how they treat prospective tenants, I'd hate to see how they treat someone once they have actually signed a contract. Cons: Horrible Customer Service more

Unfair treatment of deciding who rents 10/21/2008

So I saw a very nice condo in Mountain Park and decided to call Mainlander for a viewing. They told me 5PM. When I got there, the Mainlander agent told me 5:10, as he was showing it to someone else at 5PM. So, waiting 10 minutes, I got to look at the condo. I made a phone call immediately afterwards and I was told that I would have an appointment for application tomorrow. However, Mary Ann (who was VERY disrespectful) called me back about five minutes later and told me that someone had beat me to it. Who? That person who was there at 5PM! I have two voicemails letting me know to be there right at 5. Be honest, Mainlander! All I want is an apology. more

Mainlander Not Recommended 10/17/2008

Mainlander makes renting difficult to say the least. They are slow to respond and if something in the home needs fixed that costs to much, they just don't respond at all. We have tried for 4 months now to get Mainlander to powerwash the outside of our home as mold is growing. Because it costs over a certain amount, they won't approve it. They are ""waiting"" on the homeowners to approve. Bad management company who just doesn't care. Pros: Variety of Homes Cons: Poor Customer Service more

Unpleased Owner 8/11/2008

As it was my first time renting out my home, I wanted to go with a property manager instead of trying to figure out how to rent on my own. I went with Mainlander because their name came up quickly with my web search, and the website looked very professional. Unfortunately, I was very unpleased with their work. I told them that since I was the current occupant, that the house would be ready to rent by Sept 1, and that I would be out and the house would be clean by the third week in August. They either didn't believe me or didn't listen to my wishes, because they listed the house as available on Sept 15. The house needed some touch-up painting in some of the rooms, so I asked if they could help me with this service, and they said that their painter wouldn't be available for a month and a half. I did the painting myself. On their website, they wrongly listed it as having 2 BA when it had 2.5. I called them to correct it, but it was never changed on the website. Although they did find me a renter within a month, I was left with a bad taste in my mouth. After a year, I decided to be my own property manager, as it didn't seem Mainlander was doing anything but taking $100 out of my rent check each month. Talking with the tenants, they were just as dissatisfied. They said that Mainlander never came to fix the repairs that they had called in. Go with a different Property Management company. more

Terrible customer service! 6/23/2008

As an owner, my experience with this company has been a nightmare. My house was trashed and they were not at all concerned with fixing anything. I had to manage the property myself while I was away in another state and the neighbors all refer to it as the ""flop house"" now. Don't go through this company...you're better off renting your house on your own. Cons: Everything. The experience was full of hassles. more
